About this property
The Whittier Cabin 4 Bed Cabin Amazing Views
"The Whittier Cabin" is a custom built, authentic log cabin overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains, the city of Gatlinburg and Ober Mountain Ski Resort. It's constructed in the Appalachian tradition, featuring 12" hand hewn logs with dove tail joinery and exposed beams, anchored by a handcrafted woodburning fireplace that's finished in local mountain stone. Appointed with Old Hickory furniture, as featured in the great lodges of the American West, it's a warm and inviting place to pass the time
✨ PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTS ✨

It features a chef's kitchen, beautiful bathrooms with custom walk-in showers, hardwood flooring, a screened porch with a hot tub overlooking the mountains, a billiard room, and a sunny deck to enjoy sunrises and spectacular mountain view. One of the more unique features is the 10-person dining table beside the fireplace, a perfect gathering spot with family and friends. The stay was absolutely wonderful! The cabin was beautiful and exceptionally clean! The scenery was breathtaking! The whole experience was a 10/10! Thank you so much for a great stay! We will definitely be back!
The perfect cabin for our family of 6 with plenty of room to spare! It was very clean, well organized and the owner made the entire process easy! We will definitely book again!
Wife loved the copper soaking tub in the master suite, kids loved the man cave with the pool table, the dining room table was great for family meals and our Thanksgiving meal. Parking was a bit dicey, but not unlike other properties in the area. Kitchen utensils could be upgraded a bit. All in all, the property was clean and provided a comfortable week for our family.
Very well appointed, clean, and cozy true log cabin nestled in the heart of Chalet Village.
Excellent accessibility and parking.
Would definitely book again!
We come to the mountains every January for a family vacation. We have 10 people and we stay for a week. This cabin was laid out really well. Great spaces for big families. Cabin was beautiful, clean, and great driveway access. Host was super helpful and responsive. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a lovely time at the cabin with our family and friends. We had many bear sighting around the cabin and neighborhood, which was really thrilling! We loved the peacefulness of the cabin in the woods.
Awesome place to stay. Very private and peaceful. Saw 4 bears and lots of wild turkey. Will definitely be back. Thank you for allowing us to stay here.
We had a great time. Very comfortable beds and clean. The only thing we had a problem with was the carpet in the living room. It was curled up on the edges, and everyone (especially the baby) kept tripping on it. The living room furniture was uncomfortable and torn in places. Other than that, Fantastic!
Beautiful location! The property was clean and perfect for our family vacation. Everything was as described in the description and photos. The host responded very quickly to any questions or suggestions we sent his way. We would definitely return in the future. Make sure to read the "Bear Rules" in the kitchen. We did not lock our car door and a bear made himself at home in our car looking for some snacks. He kindly exited after finding a bag of pretzels and ate them in the driveway.
Property exactly as described- plenty of room for our group of 11. Very well appointed kitchen, PKS try if towels for all. Comfy & cozy with great views. Prompt communication with owner. Highly recommended!
This cabin was beautiful and clean and everything as promised! The host was available when we had to ask a question about the stove (we have gas, rookies to the new electric tops) and was very helpful. The jacuzzi was fantastic after days of walking/hiking, the four bathrooms were great for our group of 8, rooms beautiful and cozy. We also saw a grand total of 9 black bears, including a mama and cubs, so keep an eye out and your camera close!! We absolutely will be looking to book again for next years trip!!
First of all, the communixReally loved this property. I liked being a little off the beaten path, away from the bustle and noise, but also very convienient to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. If you plan on going to Ober mountain, its about 4 minutes from the house. One word of warning, there is a community bear
We enjoyed our stay. The place is just like the pictures. We have a good time with family and friends. The house is clean and beautiful, so spacious. We saw bears, that was amazing even one climbed up to the tree next to the deck. The location is great just minutes from Gatlinburg. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare meals. Just love it. Coming back soon. Thanks for letting us to stay.
The cabin was great for our family of 6. 3 bedrooms are on the upper floor so it was a little difficult for my mom but she managed. She is just out of shape. Lol the bunk room is down on the lower level. I loved the master bedroom and bathroom. All beds were super comfortable and it was very clean and everything worked. Hot tub was great also. I would definitely stay here again. The driveway is tricky but manageable.

Beautiful House But Average Stay
The house was beautiful but there were several issues with the property that remained unresolved for days and severely hampered our stay there: (1) no hot water in the second master bedroom shower; was resolved finally on the 4th day of our stay (2) high tech stove top range would not work with majority of pans found in the home - no instructions provided either despite repeated requests from us - this prevented us from cooking planned holiday meals for our family; (3) missing wastebaskets in the bathrooms (4) third bedroom upstairs does not have a private bathroom - this was not clear in property description and would definitely not work with a group of 3 couples traveling together and (5) the communication with the host could have been better and could have prevented a lot of stress on our end.
The roads leading up to the cabin are narrow with steep curves, dark and have no guardrails. If you’re adventurous, this might work for you but it was extremely nerve-wracking for us everytime we ventured out.
Overall, a nice stay in a beautiful house but we will opt for something else the next time we visit Tennessee.
