We like the house and the big kitchen. Clean property. Huge backyard. Pet-friendly. The separate guest house was great, as well as the finished basement.

Thank you so much. I am glad your family enjoyed the property.
This was such an amazing place. Wonderful river and nature sounds with wide open space to have so many great backyard games and fun. Fire pit was well stocked with wood and made for the center of our evening activities. The place had everything we needed and is only minutes from a grocery/gas station. Only 19 minutes away from the Shenandoah’s too with many trails to pick from.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is updated beautifully with great amenities. Beautiful views. Neighbors were friendly. Would definitely stay here again!!
House is tidy and spacious. Great for two small families. River access and fire pit were a hit.

Beautiful and bucolic
The house was spacious, had great gathering places indoors and out, clean, and warm. We used the kayaks and had a lovely paddle down the river; up the street we walked by farms with new foals in the fields, and toasted 'mores over the fire pit.
Loved the house and the river. The smell in the cottage was worse than last year. Something about the septic when you run the water. Neighbors and lawn guy were great!

From the owner: "Thank you for the feedback. The cottage was newly renovated when you stayed with us, and we appreciate the review. I have updated the salt system since your stay, and it has removed all mineral smells. I hope you stay with us again."
Very spacious house for guests and pets. The walk to the river is worth every step as the access to the river is very accommodating for guests of all ages! House was spotless and came with a full variety of amenities for relaxation and fun! Outstanding communication with host. Looking forward to staying here again!
Overall, the property was okay. The listing mentioned 2 king beds, but there is only one. The downstairs king is in a main hangout area due to the bar and seating - but there is no privacy, so make sure whoever sleeps there is okay with that.
Great location for a getaway off the grid but close to town! Large backyard great for dogs/kids that leads to a nicely paved river access staircase with handrails. Great firepit to warm up by and make s’mores. Perfect river access for floating, fishing, kayaking and photos. Basement was a great feature for our group for our older kids who wanted their own space! Peaceful and so much nature to take in.

Cute place
We had a great time! The listing about the size of beds is incorrect and I've messaged the owner. The 1 room that says 2 double beds is 2 twins. There is only 1 king on entire property in basement and there are actually 4 bathrooms. Just want to let people know. Kitchen was well stocked, albeit randomly organized, the bathrooms were super clean. Be aware the river is a few minutes walk from the house, (you can't see the river from the house). The grill is awesome and there are a lot of tubes but they need to be blown up. We all had a great time and appreciated the coziness and decor of the place-the price seemed a bit high for what we got but it's a great spot!
Property location was fantastic- the grounds and proximity to the river were awesome. The house itself was spacious enough for our group of 7 adults. Our golden retrievers loved exploring the yard and swimming in the river. Only negatives were that the trash toters were full when we arrived and only had a few bags removed during our week long visit. And the cottage that we intended to use had a problem with the water filtration system- the water smelled terrible- like being smacked in the face with sulfur- which rendered the cottage unusable. A real disappointment since it’s such an adorable addition to the property. Heads up if you’re bringing your dogs… There is a large neighborhood dog that roams around freely. He is friendly with people but we didn’t want to chance there being a problem between him and our dogs so we had to be on alert whenever we were outside with our pups.

From the owner: "Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and for highlighting how much you and your dogs enjoyed the river access and spacious yard.- We appreciate you bringing the neighborhood dog to our attention; we were not aware of this and will look into the situation to ensure guests and their pets can relax safely.- Since your stay, the water system has been fully upgraded. We replaced the iron pipes with polyvinyl, added a sediment carbon filter, and installed a new salt tank to remove minerals and eliminate odors.- We also continue to work with our waste service to ensure trash collection is completed more consistently between guest stays. We’re glad you enjoyed the property overall and hope you’ll return to experience the improvements."
This property is located close to town so shopping, coffee and finding things to do is not hard. Owner was very pleasant when messaging her. There are plenty of games to play.
But... There was no toilet paper in the bathrooms and the houses always stayed damp(humid). So towels after a shower never dried. There were dead spiders and bugs all over the guest house floor. The water in the house smalls awful. There are signs around the house saying that it is on well water and it smalls metallic but the water in the guest house smells like sulfer... .isnt harmful, but just a turn off when you are brushing you teeth or showering. There are kayaks on the property, but no trailer to use. So taking them on the river isn't feesible unless you have a truck to haul them back if you take them down river and dock domwhere.
There were deer everymorning in the front yard and it was nice to have a bonfire even though it rained everyday we were there

Hi Bianca, we’re glad to hear you enjoyed the property's location and amenities. We reached out to the homeowner regarding your feedback, and they wanted to share a few details:- Toilet paper and paper towels were stocked under each sink, as well as in the kitchen, prior to your arrival. We're sorry if you didn’t find them, and we encourage guests to reach out with questions during their stay.- The HVAC system in the home is brand new and designed to handle humidity. However, the climate can sometimes cause a damp feeling, especially with rainy weather, which is unfortunately beyond our control.- We ensure the home is thoroughly cleaned between each guest's stay.- While the house is on a regular pest control schedule, occasional insects may still be present due to the rural setting.- The water is sourced from a well which can give it a slightly metallic odor though it’s safe for use.- While kayaks are provided for guest enjoyment, a trailer isn't included, and we don't advertise one. Thanks again for the feedback. We’re glad you found so much to enjoy and we'll use your comments to keep improving for future guests.
