About this property
Snowmobile from Cabin to Trail, Backup Generator, Plenty of Parking
Fresh snowfall and excellent winter riding conditions make Hiawatha’s Hideaway a top choice for snowmobile enthusiasts and winter adventurers. Guests can ride snowmobiles directly from the cabin to the trail system with no trailering required, making this an easy and stress-free Upper Peninsula getaway.
The property offers ample parking for trucks and trailers, along with a two-car attached garage that is ideal for working on sleds or keeping vehicles and gear protected. A backup generator provides added peace of mind and comfort during winter storms.
This cabin is also a great winter option for larger groups when booked together with nearby Maple Ridge and The Perch, located approximately 0.2 miles apart. Please ask for details and assistance with booking multiple cabins.
Hiawatha’s Hideaway is an upscale forest cabin located in the Hiawatha National Forest on FF Highway 13, surrounded by mature pine trees for privacy and quiet. The home features hickory kitchen cabinets, quartz countertops, black stainless steel appliances, a gas range and oven, all new plank flooring with no carpeting, central air conditioning, and a non-smoking interior.
Sleeping accommodations include two forest-view bedrooms on the main floor, each with a queen log-style bed, along with a full bathroom with a tub and shower combination. The large third bedroom is located on the lower level and includes one king-size bed with a memory foam mattress and one double bed. This bedroom is attached to a spacious bathroom with ceramic tile floors, a double-sink vanity, and a large walk-in shower. The entire lower level features beautiful tongue-and-groove cedar walls. The lower-level living area is perfect for kids or relaxing after a full day of outdoor adventures and includes a new large couch with chaise. Additional sleeping is available on the main floor with a queen sofa sleeper featuring a thick memory foam mattress. All bedding and towels are provided.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a large refrigerator with a water dispenser, microwave, dishwasher, and gas range and oven. A washer and dryer are available for guest use. In the evenings, enjoy cooking on the charcoal grill or relaxing around the fire pit.
Hiawatha’s Hideaway offers year-round recreation. In the spring, enjoy nearby lakes and streams for fishing and waterfalls flowing at peak levels. Summer brings biking and hiking on Bruno’s Run, located within walking distance, and Pine Martin Run nearby. Canoe the Indian River, just a half mile from the cabin, or enjoy campfires and marshmallow roasting. In the fall, Highway 13 offers some of the most scenic color views in the Upper Peninsula and is ideal for photography, hiking, and hunting. Winter is spectacular in the Hiawatha National Forest, with miles of snowmobile trails, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing through pristine forest scenery. Guests can ride directly from the cabin to the trails and even ride to the Buckhorn Restaurant.
Lake Superior and the Munising and Pictured Rocks area are located approximately 12 miles north, offering boat cruises, kayaking, waterfalls, shopping, and dining.
Dogs are allowed with prior approval and an additional fee. This is a non-smoking property.
This home is owned and professionally managed by Hiawatha’s Hideaway, offering several unique vacation homes in the area.

What makes this property unique
We love this area of Hwy 13, it's wooded, has lots of lakes and rivers in the area. Fishing, kayaking and swimming just down the road, yet when you need to drive into Munising, it's quick. Night fires in the fire pit out back, no street lights, so we can see the stars here at night. It's quiet and peaceful.
