Casa del Norte - Secluded Home in Del Norte Mtns

Casa del Norte is a secluded and relaxing two bedroom, two bath guest home tucked in the Del Norte Mountains. Enjoy amazing views and hiking on the 199 acres during the day and comfy king-sized beds at night. Wildlife abounds around this property and catching a glimpse of elk, mule deer, and javelina would not be uncommon.

This home features two bedrooms on either side of the home, each with their own en-suite bathroom. The living room and kitchen are centrally located and a balcony is right off the living room. Perfect for sitting and enjoying the beautiful sunrise while drinking your morning coffee. Without any light pollution, the stars are simply breathtaking.

Guests of Casa del Norte have access to the guest home and the trails around the property. The main residence is about a quarter of a mile up the road, but not in the line of sight of the guest home. Guests will have complete privacy. Please steer clear of the main residence and the barn while at the property.

We highly encourage you to hike up the rock garden and enjoy the sunset during your stay.

Host is available by phone if needed.

This area features part of the natural landscape which can be prickly and poky. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and shoes while hiking. Also, please watch for snakes, this is their home too.

There is a wood burning fireplace in the living room. While it is accessible to guests, wood is not provided.
There is not cell service, but there is wifi for you to make and receive calls.

We would like to encourage guests to take advantage of the beautiful scenery all around, relax and refresh. Therefore, there is no tv in the home. There are plenty of hiking trails for guests to enjoy around the property.

Property with a view in quiet location

This property was a nice retreat for those who want to experience quiet south Texas landscape and dark nights for star viewing. Great for two couples as bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the home. Nice outdoor deck for early morning coffee and relaxing in the evening after exploring areas nearby.

Amazing Getaway

This was such a wonderful experience for us. We loved the seclusion and no TV. We listened to nature and enjoyed most of our time wrapped in a blanket on the lookout patio. So amazing. We'll definitely be returning to this little slice of heaven.

Slice of west TX heaven

Wish we were still sitting on the porch taking in the big sky. This property is everything and more. Nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. Two outside sitting areas. Short, beautiful hikes on property. Property manager is responsive, professional, and has attended to all details. One of our best VRBO experiences. If you like getting away, and you love west TX, here’s a gem. Enjoy!!

My name is April McAnally and I am the owner of Bienvenido Big Bend & Bienvenido Cochise.

I “married into Alpine,TX” 23 years ago when I met my husband who was born and raised in Alpine. Having grown up on a cotton farm, I was used to rural living. But I never expected to fall in the love with the desert mountains. Shortly after we married, we moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona where we lived for almost 10 years and then headed back to Alpine. It was during this time that my love of the Big Bend area and of hospitality were joined when I had the opportunity to manage short term rentals for my neighbor. Shortly after, I created Bienvenido Big Bend and have continued to add to my portfolio of vacation homes in Alpine.

In 2022, after a short stint in Virginia, we headed back to Sierra Vista, Arizona. I was then approached to manage a couple of vacation homes in Sierra Vista and opened up Bienvenido Cochise.

I am honored that the owners of these beautiful properties have entrusted me to manage their homes, and I love that I am able to share the desert mountains in both locations with the guests that choose to visit. My staff and I take pride in providing clean and comfortable homes to visitors staying in both locations. I travel back and forth between Alpine and Sierra Vista and love the unique area that make up both locations.
