Nice home in a quiet neighborhood. House was well stocked with all essentials, comfortable furniture, and some extra nice to haves. It was the ideal location to explore the Big Bend area and surrounding towns like Marfa,Marathon, and Terlingua. Definitely recommend!
Beautiful, peaceful, restful and quiet location with friendly neighbors.
A great base to explore the area from the National Park to the observatory to all of the other towns and sights in the vicinity.
Good communication with host and quick response to requests.
The house matched its photos. Lovely interior very comfortable with all the amenities including a fully stocked kitchen with everything soap, potholders, paper towels, spices etc. Unbelievably complete. Excellent beds. Great outdoor space too but too cold to use on our visit. Hope to return soon!
We felt like home from the minute we arrived. Of all the rental homes we have stayed at over the past decade, this home by far exceeded all others. From a well-stocked kitchen of pantry items to pots and pans, we felt at home with no need to run to the store. We enjoyed home cooked meals with gorgeous outdoor views from the kitchen table, dining room table, and the patio table. The coffee (and tea) bar is wonderful like our own mini-Starbucks. There was plenty of seating inside and out for us to talk as a group or separate. The views of nature from within the home and around are beautiful. We enjoyed the specialty toiletries as we treated ourselves to mini spa days. This is a very nice home in a lovely area of Alpine (I took walks along a well-maintained neighborhood). The one mishap which the owner has taken efforts to prevent are the steps within the home. There are sensor lights to shine light on the steps as someone approaches. That said, my husband missed a stepped and tumbled from the bedroom into the bathroom in the middle of the night. This is when their first aid supplies (Band-Aids to Tylenol) came in handy. We left a light on in the bathroom thereafter and had no other issues. For people with mobility challenges, they should stay in either of the other two spacious bedrooms. Add in the easy check-in and check-out process, we absolutely loved the home and are making plans to return again and include renting the Cactus Bud on site.
The only complaint I have are the steps and different floor levels. I just about fell several times going from the master bedroom into the bathroom. The tiles are dark which do not make the steps obvious. If I were you, I would do something about that before somebody gets injured. I was lucky it wasn't me!
