Escape from the hustle and bustle without leaving behind modern comforts and conveniences. Watch the tides go in and out from the gourmet kitchen or rocking on the porch. Despite being privately situated on nearly 25 acres, you are still close to everything you could need. Bucksport (restaurants, groceries, boardwalk) is 5 minutes away. Acadia Nat'l Park and Bar Harbor an hour. Bangor Intl Airport is 40 minutes. Or stay home and enjoy high speed internet, lawn games and visiting wildlife. The space Total privacy at the end of a quarter mile gravel driveway through nearly 25 mostly wooded acres. Near the home site there is about 2 acres of cleared land that is often visited by deer, bald eagles, and more! Enjoy a pair of rocking chairs on the side porch and roast some s'mores from the Adirondack chairs around the fire pit. Make it a point to get out at night to take in the incredible stars.
Explore the property and follow the wooded trail down to the 600' of shoreline. Though swimming is not recommended here due to the mudflats we have fun collecting driftwood and taking in the ocean breezes.
We spent six months remodeling the 2400 sqft house to ensure you and your guests have a comfortable stay. The master bedroom has king bed and a flat screen TV with a Roku. There is a second king bed in an oversized room that has plenty of space to roll out a yoga mat. There is an upstairs bedroom with a single twin and a downstairs bedroom with a single twin and a workspace.
For us, the center of the house is the generously appointed custom kitchen. From in front of the 36" Wolf Range with a char-broiler you get 180 degree views of the property and river. A Wolf oven and Sub-Zero fridge cover the other essentials. Granite counters and a large island with seating for four the chef happy and in good company. The dining table comfortably seats six and also has fantastic views of the water. If you're feeling like cooking out doors, there's a propane grill available as well.
The house is located near many wonderful excursions. Acadia National Park is just about an hour away as well as the always charming Bar Harbor. Closer by there's Castine, Blue Hill, and Belfast. Five minutes away in Bucksport there's a boardwalk that follows the Penobscot river. The Penobscot narrows bridge and Fort Knox are just about 10 minutes away. Nearby there are great lakes and parks with public beach access and extensive and boating opportunities. Our favorite seasonal restaurant in the summer is Carriers Mainely Lobster which is less than two miles away!
There is a 1/2 bath downstairs and the upstairs bathroom has a large soaking tub and separate large walk in shower. While there are a lot of heads in the shower, the well doesn't provide good enough pressure to enjoy all of them at once. We've been looking into how to solve that problem.
If you are bringing work with you the high-speed cable internet will let you connect to your meetings while the kids access your streaming content on the Roku's. Guest access You'll have access to the whole house except for a supply closet and the garage. You will also not have access to the barn, but we usually keep some of the bigger lawn games under the overhang there.

Communication with the host was great. They responded quickly and give us all the information we needed. Appreciated the seclusion of the property, but still near important resources like grocery and gas. Easy access to Acadia and other great parks.
My family very much enjoyed our stay. The property was exactly as described, situated in a great, quiet location that provided a peaceful retreat. The host was incredibly communicative and responsive making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and hassle-free stay.
Great stay! Lots of space for everyone. Great kitchen to cook in. Loved sitting on the porch rockers every morning for coffee. Good size for a family. The two kings in one room is great if you have lots of kids.
The property was beautiful in the daytime and stunning at night. Sitting around the fire at night on clear nights revealed a majestic view of the stars capped off by hundreds and thousands of fireflies. The host was responsive to our questions and quick to respond as well.
Truly a wonderful property and stay. Home was well kept and comfortable. Grounds were wonderful to watch the clouds, have campfires, enjoy coffee in the morning, play bags. We found the location to be perfect - secluded and peaceful, but only an hour away from Acadia, Camden and a short, lovely drive to our favorite little town of Belfast. Easy 10 minute drive to grocery store - and if needed, 1/2 hour/45 minutes to larger stores and airport. Terrific farm-stands all over for fresh vegetables and, of course, blueberries! Hosts super helpful and communicative. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Very Peaceful - house had everything you need up to date good internet. Convenient to Bucksport. Enjoyed watching the deer every afternoon grazing in the yard.
The property is secluded and sweet. Our family had space to sprawl or hang together. The property is from Acadia National Park and less than 20 min from a nice little public beach. It was a great home base for my active family. The hosts were communicative and responsive to any questions we had. We highly recommend!
The house is situated in a field in which deer and turkeys graze. A great setting. Kitchen and main bath are great. Main bedroom bed is comfortable. It's a great place to get away from it all yet isn't far from some great Maine places. The view of the river could be better, but it still contributes to a sense of restfulness and peace. It provided everything we wanted in a stay in Maine.
Our stay at Tides' Reach was memorable and I will begin by saying that we would stay here again. The home is spacious, the property is secluded yet easy to find. Between walks down to the river, sitting around a campfire or family games at the table, there are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy.We arrived at night under the stars....beautiful, but very dark. We had a slight issue at check in with our door code not working and the porch light being burned out, inconvenient...yes, however Brian was responsive and we were able to get into the house in a matter of 10 mins. The next morning, new bulbs were swapped out and we were back in business!Location wise, we felt this property was perfect. Grocery store nearby in Bucksport along with some nice restaurants and fresh seafood if you feel like cooking. Within an hours drive of Acadia, Bar Harbor and Camden....all wonderful day trips. Thanks again & we look forward to a trip back to Tides' Reach!
This is a great property, not far from Bucksport stores and amenities. We only stayed 3 nights, but each and every day we saw deer grazing around the yard :-) One time it was a group of 4 of them ! The house is clean and has lots of room, kitchen area is spacious with everything you need. The water area isn't easily accessible or useable, but beautiful to see through the trees from the bedroom and eating area. The host is friendly and was very quick to respond when I asked a question. Overall, I'd recommend staying here.
Great location. Convenient to Castine for college tour. Not far from local Hannaford, Fort Knox, or Bucksport. Loved having water views in the morning while having breakfast. Saw a few eagles flying by every day in the morning. Beds were comfy, kitchen met our needs, Even used the fire pit one evening as the weather was cooperative. Water took a few minutes to warm up before you could jump in and take a shower. We spaced out everyone's shower to make sure we didn't run out of hot water. Internet worked great. Will keep this on our list for return visits.
This vacation property was everything it advertised + Plus! What you can't see in the pictures is how beautiful the surrounding nature is or the deer running through the yard. You have complete peace and quiet at the property but still only a 3 mile drive to Bucksport, where you have the amenities of groceries, banking, pharmacy, cafes and restaurants.
The host were very responsive and clear in communication.
The most important thing for us (which you can't see in pictures) is that the house was extremely clean. It's a big house and all rooms were very clean and stocked with everything we needed during our week long stay.
We hope to be back some day. Cheers!
We celebrated our 36th anniversary here and we loved every minute of it. The property is quiet and secluded and we had 3 deer and probably 20+ turkeys in the yard nearly every morning.
The kitchen was great and nicely appointed with lots of pots and pans. Living room was comfy and the master bedroom and bathroom was spacious and very nice.
The house is located nicely near great places to see. We went all the way to Eastport to Rayes Mustard Mill and leaned they are not open on Mondays :-(. We did Fort Knox and that was a neat place to explore.
Of course, we always spend lots of time in Acadia National Park, and the weather was spectacular. We enjoyed a couple hours of watching the sun go down from the tip of Schoodic Peninsula (Acadia North we like to call it).
Our hosts were very easy to communicate with and they were very quick as well.
We left relaxed and rested after a week and hope we can stay here again in the future.
Highly recommend that you consider this place for your stay.
Thank you again to our wonderful hosts, sharing their home with us.
