Beautiful clean cabin. Great location way off the main road. Drive way is a little tricky and its not as much fun to fish if you cant keep them but its a great place to stay. The river is so beautiful. Pool table was fun to have

So glad you enjoyed the cabin and its peaceful location! We completely understand how the driveway can be a little tricky at first, but we’re happy it didn’t take away from your experience. It’s wonderful to hear you loved the river and had some fun with the pool table, even if fishing had its limits. Your kind words about the cleanliness and charm truly mean a lot to us. We hope to have you back soon, thank you!
We had a great stay. The property is well maintained as is the house. We enjoyed our stay!

Enjoyed the peaceful setting and sound of the river. Encountered some wildlife, including a black bear that was startled by our presence and ran away. This cabin is definitely away from city life, but close enough to stores and restaurants if needed. Very nice place to relax.

We're so glad that you had a great time at The Water's Edge, enjoying the peaceful sounds of the river, the convenient location, and of course, being able to witness wildlife in their natural habitat. We are grateful for your feedback, and we hope to host you again on your next visit to the Appalachian Mountains in the near future!
The house was great. My family enjoyed the river and the game room. Sitting on the porch was nice and peaceful. The driveway is pretty steep and there's not a lot of room for a full size truck to turn around in the driveway... I'll also mention that its down a long narrow dirt road. It didn't bother us but worth noting. We only met another car once but had to back up a bit to find a place to pull over. We had great time.

The house is cute, layout is a little odd. The outside space is amazing! We enjoyed the game room downstairs and had a great time relaxing by the water and the firepit. The boys really enjoyed fishing in the river. The views are great!!!

Beds were comfortable, the water got hot fast, theres also a neighborhood dog that came up when we arrived she was super sweet. As i said overall definitely a place id stay again. Make sure when booking to read the reviews and the emails so you know what to expect.

We're thrilled you had such an amazing getaway, and we're already looking forward to hosting you again for another cabin stay in the Appalachian Mountains!
This is a very nice cabin and so relaxing.. yard full of deer at dusk. The sound of the river was so relaxing while sitting on the top balcony. Needs a tv in the living room where the comfortable furniture is. Cabin was clean but for the amount of the cleaning fee, there was dust on the tables and dried food on the knobs of the stove. Definitely would rent it again
Would rather have had a diswaher or hot tub instead of bidet on every toilet.
No dresser or storage area to unpack clothes. No ball for Foosball table. Poorly stocked kitchen, lack of pots with largest maybe 6 cups. Went and bought one, left it there. Enjoyed the scenery.
Our stay at the cabin was truly enjoyable. My wife, my 10-year-old son, and I had a wonderful New Year's Eve, just as we had planned. However, I do have a suggestion: the descent to the cabin could be better maintained. It’s quite steep, and the vehicle tends to slip near the top, which could pose a risk for inexperienced drivers. I had to reverse down the slope to gain enough momentum to make it up the hill. For reference, I was driving a Highlander, not a 4x4.Another minor concern is the parking space under the tent. Maneuvering the vehicle requires several back-and-forth adjustments due to the limited space available. Lastly, the heating was preset to 68F, which felt too cold for someone like me coming from Miami. I hope you don’t mind, but I adjusted it to 72F for comfort.Overall, it’s a charming cabin, and we had a great time!

Great Place but Needs Improvement
Pros: We enjoyed fishing on the creek, playing in the game room, and sitting in the rocking chairs. There is plenty of towels and kitchen supplies to use. Cons: Many of the stairs, especially the ones going to the front of the house, are rotting and could possibly fall in at anytime. We brought this to the attention of the cabin rental team and was hung up on. Be ready to climb many stairs during your stay at this cabin. I would not recommend this with anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs. Do not go bare foot in the house. They will be completely black. There is clearly no mopping. We had issues with the fridge, but the repairman was able to fix that. The back door also had issues as stated in previous reviews. The driveway is extremely hard to get in and out of without a 4x4.

While we are glad to hear that you enjoyed aspects of the cabin such as fishing on the creek, enjoying the games in the game room, and enjoying sitting on the deck, we hate to hear that you encountered any inconveniences during your stay. Having to deal with cleanliness issues, steps going up to the cabin rotting, issues with the refrigerator, and more is certainly not our norm, and we are truly sorry you and your guests experienced this. And to make matters worse, you were hung up on when trying to report these issues. We have shared your concerns and feedback with the appropriate departments, and we have addressed all of these matters since your departure. We, again, cannot apologize enough for you having to encounter these issues during your stay, and we hope that we are able to host a more enjoyable stay for you in the near future.

Nice location but some concerns
Super close to the state line in McCaysville. Super cute town with shops and dining. The icemaker is amazing. The creek was very relaxing. There a few complains though.
1. We were there all of 48 hrs and while we were out shopping, received a text that said maintenence was coming over some time to change out a few lightbulbs. When we got back it was obvious they were there while we were out. All our belongings there unattended. This is unacceptable and so inappropriate and a violation to our privacy!!
2. Would have been nice to be informed of how bad the road and driveway is. If you dont have a 4wd or all wd, you wont make it.
3. Basement shower has mold on the floor.
4. Door in 1/2 bath gets caught on floor and is loud.
5. Paper products are super thin, bring your own.
6. Checkout on website says 10am but white binder says 11am. They would not budge.

Kamie, we are so sorry your experience with us did not meet your expectations, as this is certainly not the norm for us and we completely understand your concerns. We know it must have been so disappointing to arrive at your cabin only to encounter a challenging driveway, mildew in the bathroom, a loud door, and more. While it is highlighted in your pre-arrival email that a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended for this property and that the check-out time is at 10 AM, we understand your frustration. We have passed your comments along to the appropriate departments so we can improve in these areas. We apologize for any and all inconvenience you encountered and hope you will be able to revisit the Appalachian Mountains again for a more enjoyable stay.
