This modern log home offers the charm of stained log walls and the cozy feel of a country cabin--a perfect getaway for all. We are within 20 minutes to Mt. Shasta Ski/Board Park and 30 minutes to Shasta Lake. Convenient to Castle Crags State Park or the historic towns of Castella, Mt. Shasta City and McCloud. Under mature timbers, the rear deck overlooks the best fishing hole in town. Complete with a full kitchen, gas bbq, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot/grinder, washer/dryer, WI-FI cable TV and CD stereo. Take a quick drive or short walk to town where you will find local markets, gourmet restaurants, coffee bars, and a micro brewrey. You will see and hear trains as Dunsmuir is a railroad town. Note: daily rate includes local taxes

This property is in a great location, right on the upper Sacramento River. Easy walk down to the water to fish. In the winter and spring the river may be higher, so IDK how fishing would be. The house was clean and well organized. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals. We liked the easy of the front door with the combo lock. The owner offered us early check-in, which was appreciated. We loved the log cabin fishing vibe. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time relaxing & fishing. We caught 9 rainbow trout while there!

We enjoyed our stay in Dunsmuir and got to know the town a little better. The house had everything we needed for R & R. It is in a nice location to visit so many beautiful places--the lookout where you can see Mt. Shasta and Castle Crags, and hikes along the river, as well as being an easy drive to the town of Mt. Shasta, Castle Lake and beyond. It is quiet and restful and well maintained. We grew fond of the trains and discovered that earplugs gave us very good nights' sleep! The TV systems were easy to use. Cooling and heating worked perfectly. The neighborhood was very good for sunset walks; turn left toward the river.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful log home! The cabin was spacious, clean, comfortable, and perfect for our group. The location was excellent and peaceful, close to the river, and a convenient base for exploring Mount Shasta, Lake Siskiyou, and the surrounding attractions. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were comfortable, and the home had a warm, cozy mountain atmosphere. Check-in and communication were smooth throughout. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this property to anyone visiting the Dunsmuir/Mount Shasta area.

A marvelous property, and only a quick, short walk to the Sacramento river. House is fully equipped with anything you could possibly need for cooking and has a full complement of media equipment and games. Especially nice is the back porch, complete with barbecue. Because it's Dunsmuir, the trains are right there, but the double pane windows really cut down the noise.

Absolutely loved it!The house is perfectly appointed and the location on the river is amazing!The location is also perfect for easy trips to Lake Siskiyou, City of Mt. Shasta, and McCloud Falls. A little piece of Paradise!

Perfect for our mini family reunion, Bedrooms were comfy and the loft provided a nice quiet place for reading or relaxing. The kitchen was perfect for us to gather cook and eat, inside or out on the deck. We really enjoyed sitting by the river and watching people fish. Easy walk to town too.

Great Property.....Great Location

You could spend a month here and never run out of things to do. Plenty of beds for the whole family and directly oncthe river! We did Burney Falls, Mc Cloud Falls (all three levels), Fairey Falls, and Hodge Creek Falls. We also took anamazing tour of Shasta Caverns which included a boat ride across the leg of the lake, a short bus ride up tp the caverns, and a guided tour inside. We did all that in two days!

We grew up in Dunsmuir We decided to build a vacation home in Dunsmuir so our family could gather for the seasonal activities. It is a perfect place to gather with friends and family to enjoy all seasons.

What makes this property unique

Rafting/tubing, swimming and fishing right out the back door. A quick drive to water ski or boat on Shasta Lake or the many other local lakes. Conveniently located to trails and mountains for hikes or exploration. The waterfalls are abundant and breathtaking. Mt. Shasta Ski/Board Park is within 20 minutes and the lift tickets are reasonable without traffic issues-- night and cross country skiing is available too. The community offers scenic drives to historic railroad, timber, fishing and health conscious points of interest.
