Love the condo and the layout. Excellent location.
A bit smaller than it seemed in pictures but still a good size with space to relax! Good place if you want to be close to Beech Mountain.

Great location for a long weekend
My husband and I enjoyed being able to watch tv and relax on the super comfortable big couches during evening storms. We also loved the comfortable bed! The kitchen was great to have and both bathrooms were beautiful and modern which was great.
We loved the location. We loved the cabin.
Overall 8/10
A few things to be aware of:
- Large black ants
- Upper porch sliding door would not open
- No remote for upstairs TV
Nice little place. If you have any trouble navigating stairs, stay away from this one though. Otherwise a nice place convenient to the restaurants near the top of the mountain.

We had such a cozy stay here! First time using VRBO.. couldn’t find the check out instructions, so I had to reach out to make sure we did what was expected. Other than that 100% all around.

Only thing keeping it from 5 stars was washer and dryer not working & we didn't pack enough clean clothes. Neighbors a little loud.

In the clouds at Beech Mountain
Beautiful ski cabin up on Beech Mountain. Pet friendly which is hard to find. Nice clean and very accommodating. I feel like if you have over four people might be stressed a little bit with the size. It was totally fine for three adults. I do think anything over four plus adults would be stretching this place. Definitely great for a family of four. I mean it's a older ski chalet that's well taken care of by the owner. Location is superb for Beech Mountain.

Hi, Ronnie, thank you for your review, we appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback. We look forward to hosting you for a great stay in the future.
The heat was not working on the first floor. We were told we would be refunded for the first night. We were later asked to check the breaker, which we had looked for earlier but they were hidden behind a print. We turned them on, but still had to go to bed in the cold. We were then told we would receive 50 toward a meal if we submitted a receipt. We did. We were only refunded 43.50 from Vacasa for fees and told the local Vacasa would take care of the rest. Haven’t heard from them. View was a hillside, not a Mountain View. However nearby Mountain Views were wonderful. Beware the property has very steep steps that spiral at the top that must be taken to get to the living room and kitchen.

location is great—right across from Beech Mountain—and we enjoyed spending time as a family playing games in the living room by the fireplace. The shower was clean and updated.Unfortunately, several issues significantly impacted our stay. We were a family of five staying for five days and were only provided with four towels and two trash bags. While additional towels were brought over promptly after we asked, we had to purchase our own trash bags because we ran out before the end of our trip.Cleanliness was a major problem. The floors were extremely sticky, and when I wiped them with a wet paper towel, it came up very dirty. Most concerning and completely unacceptable was finding a pair of dirty underwear left in the corner of the master bedroom. This was absolutely disgusting and made us question how thoroughly the unit had been cleaned. One night was also very loud, with neighbors yelling, swearing, and fighting until around 1 a.m., which made it difficult to sleep. Additionally, we cooked multiple meals during our stay, but there were no oven mitts provided, making it difficult to safely use the oven. This property has potential due to its location, but cleanliness and basic supplies need serious improvement.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we are very sorry for the cleanliness and supply issues you encountered during your stay. We’re addressing housekeeping concerns, restocking towels, trash bags, and oven mitts, and reviewing our quality control to prevent similar issues. While neighbor noise is beyond our control, we understand how disruptive it was. We appreciate you noting the home’s great location and family-friendly space, and we hope to welcome you back for a much smoother and more comfortable stay.

Listen to some other reviews
I saw a review about the cleaning and thought they might be being dramatic… but that is not the case. There were hairs in shower, old clothes in the washer, we had to wash several dishes for them to be useable, old dishes in the dishwasher. I’ll stop there but wish I could post photos. After we thoroughly cleaned the first day it was a nice location. Minutes from Beech Mountain resort. The closest grocery is Food Lion and it’s pretty much the only one nearby so it gets crowded, plan your trips there. You can certainly tell parts of this town are still recovering from the storm. The town snow tubing is nearby as well as some decent restaurants in Banner Elk. The stairs in the home are steep just so it’s out there… not terrible, but as someone with arthritis in my knees I planned my trips up and down haha. Kitchen and living room are upstairs, the bedrooms, laundry and master bath are downstairs when you enter. If the cleaning improves this is a nice place.

Great Location w/Property Quirks
Great proximity to Land of Oz, and overall a decent rental. Its definitely older…kitchen is old and needs work, but was equipped to cook. Rooms were small but comfortable enough. Be warned the 2 bedrooms are main level with steep stairs (one of which is cracked) going up to living room and kitchen. Some quirks…no screen on upper deck if you want to open the sliding glass doors for fresh air, not many windows in general to open up with 2 window A/Cs, some outlets work by light switch, and washer/dryer were out of order. Getting 1st access was an issue as the codes originally provided were wrong, so when we arrived at night we had to call for help. Front porch light didn’t work either, so that was awkward in the pitch black. For 3 nights it served us well enough, but it does need some improvement as far as cleanliness and lighting goes.
