About this property

Blue Hummingbird Cabin is nestled between Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain. A wonderful getaway to make memories with family and friends. Located only 2 miles from Downtown Banner Elk, 1 mile from Banner Elk Winery, 2 miles from Kettell Beerworks, and under 15 minutes from both ski slopes. Enjoy the home’s seasonal mountain views while roasting marshmallows over the firepit. Bring your pets to enjoy the spacious, fully fenced-in backyard (with no pet-fee)! The cabin also includes a game room with a Pac-Man arcade, multiple board games, gaming console, and more!

This is a custom-built log cabin! There are three bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs; and, one bedroom and one bathroom downstairs. The game room is located downstairs and includes a futon and offers curtains to close off the area for privacy.

Great place to stay with dogs!

Our primary reason for going to Banner Elk was for our two Golden Retreivers to have a doggy vacation and to hopefully see snow. We didn't get to see snow except for a small patch near the dog park but we had a nice time anyway and the log home is a great place especially the fenced back yard for our boys to run around in. They really enjoyed one of the neighbor's dogs coming to visit every day outside the fence. The home is very comfortable and cozy with a great wood burning fireplace. We would definitely stay here again!

First Snow Memories

This Log Cabin is the exactly what your looking for when you vacation to Banner Elk. The cabin has everything your famiky will need for a weekend to remember forever. The Game Room is a big hit for the kids and kids at heart. Cadie is a excellent host and quick to answer any questions.. We had 10 inches of snow during our stay the kids loved sheding down the hill in the back yard... this is truly a great place to stay. Looking forward to returning next year.

Best Vacay Ever!

It was absolutely amazing! Everything you could ever want or need in one spot. The only thing lacking was more time. A gorgeous setting in a beautiful, friendly town. My family gathered to spend a serene Christmas together and enjoy the birth of our lord. A perfect setting for an imperfect family. Something for everyone. The owner is the best host!

Hi! I’m Cadie, the host of Blue Hummingbird Cabin. I am a South Florida native who vacationed with my family to the mountains for Christmases many times, until my husband and I decided to buy our own vacation home in Banner Elk. We traded the palm trees in for mountain views and pines, and purchased our own house in the neighboring town. We love the outdoors; kayaking, hiking, and camping, any chance we get.

Why they chose this property

This property was originally owned by the local fire chief. It was one of the first houses built on the street. We ultimately decided this property was ‘The One’ because it was a genuine log cabin. Nothing says a house in the mountains like a log cabin!

What makes this property unique

Climb up to the top of the back yard and you can see the seasonal mountain views! The sunsets up there are a gorgeous, hot orange color. Not to mention it’s the perfect backyard for sledding!
