The Master Bedroom is on the main floor with a Queen bed, wall-mounted flat screen HDTV with digital cable programming and Netflix capability. It has a full bathroom with an large tiled shower and granite top vanity.
The Second floor features two additional bedrooms - one with a Queen bed and the other with a Queen and a Twin bed. Both bedrooms have large closets and share a full bath with tile floors, a granite vanity, vaulted ceiling, with a tub/shower fully-enclosed in beautiful tile work.
The outside living space includes a 2-tier deck; a covered front porch with an open-air grilling area, and a step down onto a beautiful open-air deck with a large outdoor dining table and chairs. Walk down the stone path to the impressive Fire Pit which is enclosed in a large pea gravel field with chairs and benches. There is a covered back porch with a nice flat mulched area behind the cabin for your outdoor play and recreation.
Venture away from the cabin among acres and acres of wooded mountainside acreage lined with walking and hiking trails, hidden places with benched seating - the Watauga River is even within walking distance of the cabin (1 mile walk or 1/2 mile drive) for cooling off with a quick dip, or trying your hand at fishing for mountain trout which run through the Watauga River.
Although is feels like you are out on a mountain in the middle of nowhere, you are actually only 12 miles to Downtown Boone, or only 5 miles to the Tennessee line, then another 5 miles or so to the eastern part of the Watauga Lake.

Beautifully landscaped property, out door spaces were extensive and well cared for. Inside out the cabin was immaculate. Everything from the light switches to the spoon drawers were labeled for ease of use. This cabin had everything needed for a great family trip.
The cabin and surrounding yard are small, but the owners have done a great job of utilizing all of the space. Location was good and the cabin is very well stocked. The outside grill was the only potential negative as it’s older and doesn’t cook evenly but we figured it out. Overall, it was a great stay for the six of us and we would definitely recommend to a friend.

House was in good condition. The couch needs a good cleaning as several people had allergic reactions after sitting on couch (dust, pet?)
Great location. The road was a bit washed out but that's too be expected with all the rain. It was the peaceful vacation in the mountains we were hoping for.
Everything was seamless from check in to check out. The owners are wonderful, even calling me a couple days before to let me know about an HVAC issue and our options surrounding that. The cabin was very clean and updated and had everything we needed and more. All of the furniture was comfortable and well maintained. Our favorite thing to do during our stay was sit on the deck to enjoy the beautiful view and watch the thunderstorms. We will definitely be returning

I am concerned that there was an error in my previous response. The website shows that we ‘would not’ rent to you again. That response was definitely an error. Please accept my apology.
This was a beautiful, well-kept cabin. Private and out of the way, yet only 20 minutes to Boone NC. We loved it and we hope to stay there again some time.
We are definitely coming back to this beautiful clean home tucked away in the mountains. Great location, responsive owner, and being so close to Boone is really nice.
We loved our time at Woods End. It had everything we needed, including space for our two teens and dogs.

Why they chose this property
Our cabin was built by our late parents in 1977. At the time we lived in a small town, Stedman, N.C., where Mom and Dad were school administrators. Whenever possible they would travel to the High Country for vacation and like many folks, they fell in love with the beautiful landscapes and heartwarming hospitality of the local people. It was a dream fulfilled when they were able to purchase 5 acres on this mountain and build their log cabin home. Rebecca and Woody created many wonderful memories for themselves, their children and grandchildren. The years have passed and though Mom and Dad are no longer here with us, our log cabin in the High Country still remains a place for continued wonderful memories to be created. We have renovated several things within the cabin, but also have tried to maintain much of its authenticity. We are pleased to share this special place and hope your stay here will be a wonderful memory for you and your family too.
