6-Bedroom Oceanfront Masterpiece in Pacific Grove, CA. From S1400 for 8 guests

No need to fight over who gets the ocean view in this fabulous 6-bedroom, 4-bath home on a private, rocky beach! With 270 degrees of blue-water views, four of the bedrooms have full views of the Pacific and Monterey Bay. The fifth and sixth bedrooms have a quiet courtyard view just in case somebody doesn't like to go to sleep to the sound of the waves, or watch the moon sinking into the sea at night.

Our home, known since 1929 as Rocky Shores, is minutes from Carmel and Cannery Row in Monterey, and Pebble Beach is our neighbor. We operate under Pacific Grove's short-term rental license #468.

We have a fully stocked gourmet kitchen - and the cook gets an ocean view, too. Dining table seats 10, 14 with extension. Foosball, pinball, ping pong, Legos, art and drawing supplies, puzzles, games and other toys for the kids. Steinway grand piano for the musically inclined. Off-street parking for six cars is available.

Working on vacation? We have 5 workstations available, in separate rooms, and free high-speed wifi.

Trip Advisor has chosen Pacific Grove as one of the top 12 scenic destinations in the United States! And there is no more beautiful home base than Rocky Shores to explore our wonderful town. Surf, snorkel, or comb the beautiful beaches and coves. Make S'mores at a bonfire on our secluded beach.

Nice restaurants just two blocks away. Fabulous Pacific Grove golf course is across the street. Downtown Pacific Grove is 1.5 miles away, with movie theater, farmers' market, restaurants, coffee houses, antiques, shops, bakeries, parks, library and natural history museum. The world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row are about 2 miles away, as is Monterey's Fishermen's Wharf. Wine tasting in Carmel Valley is 30 minutes away. Big Sur is about 45 minutes away. John Steinbeck Museum is about 35 minutes away. We have a whole-house Rainsoft water conditioning system, Guardian Technologies advanced air purifier for the den [its pre-filter captures initial dust and allergen particles, its activated carbon filter traps and controls odors, and its UV-C Light works with Titanium dioxide to help eliminate airborne germs]. We also have a triple-filtration, reverse osmosis drinking water fountain in the kitchen. No need to lug bottled water here! Our home is perfect for your family reunion, corporate retreat, girls' vacation, work/stay, or romantic hideaway!

Family vacation

The property was very clean and exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed long walks on the easy access paths to searching for sea glass on the private beach during our stay. The views were absolutely amazing!! I Look forward to returning to this property. The caretaker on the property is very respectful of your privacy...you don't even know they are there.

Our stay with a large family group was perfect. This location is truly as beautiful as it looks. I wanted views and it does not get any better. The home was clean, maintained and well stocked for a group our size. The owner was very helpful. I highly recommend this property.

Perfect setting!

A group of six high school girlfriends stayed here. It was hard to leave the house!! The view was absolutely gorgeous, picture perfect view of the sunset every night. The house worked well for us: great gathering spaces, handy well-stocked kitchen and pinball! The beds were comfortable and the house was spotless. The hosts had lots of information about the area and were very helpful. We will probably be back!

Rocky Shores in Winter

If you’re reading reviews to see if this home is really worth the price... it is!!! I booked this property 10 months ago for 12 adults. As other posts have shared, there is plenty of room to spend together, or find some quiet space, if needed. No shortage of breathtaking views. True vacation rental BY owner. Kirstie takes pride and care in giving her guests a top notch experience. Communication is lightning fast. Everyone left relaxed and refreshed. Hope to return soon.

When your talking to people on the beach( in front of the house), and they say "your staying at that house!", well there you go...Pacific Grove nirvana. 4 couples from the Midwest, we really didn't want to leave the house...Kirstie is a great resource for all thing PG, Monterey etc., don't think about this property, just book it, you won't be disappointed. If your a golfer, you can walk to the Pacific grove muni, best golf buy on the peninsula. Fantastic house, fantastic area, hope to be back again. SB 2/13/2019

Best vacation spot for making memories of a lifetime!

This note is long overdue-life has been a whirlwind since we left your lovely home in Pacific Grove! We all want to thank you so much for our very special time in Pacific Grove. Your home is all that we hoped it would be, and we loved our time there. Our daughter's wedding on the beach in Carmel worked out perfectly, and the fog even cooperated that morning, and stayed away! Your home was fully appointed with everything we could need, and then some! We all loved having the ocean right out back, and could easily sit watching the surf forever! Oceanfront location a real treasure!

This was a family vacation with 10 adults (6 over 70) and 2 children. The house and location worked for everyone. We had a wonderful time! In addition to the games and crafts they brought with them, the kids loved the pinball machine, the tidepool, the player piano. They had their first snorkeling experience at Lovers Point and four of us pedaled a surrey with them to the breakwater to see the sea lions. We all walked the path from the house toward Lovers Point every day. The chairs overlooking the ocean were well used. Bliss! Adults had fun with the ping pong table and we all loved the hot tub. We cooked and ate mostly at home, except for a special dinner in Fandango's wine room for a 50th anniversary celebration. Truly a memorable time. Thanks you VRBO and Kirstie for making this oceanfront tresasure available.

Golden Stay

After 50 years of marriage, we wanted a special place to spend a week with our family. This house was definitely that special place. The setting was breathtaking with the crashing waves and great views of the ocean. The house was big enough for our two sons, their wives plus six grandchildren ranging in age from 2-21. There was something for everyone—our two year old loved the player piano; our 21 year old loved the video room and pinball machine; all of them loved the tidal pools, the hiking, the hot tub. There was plenty of room for all and we had fun cooking in the well supplied kitchen. Kirstie did a great job explaining the house at the beginning but it was good she was nearby as there was lots to remember. Bottom line is that this was a perfect place to celebrate our 50th. We are thinking of another celebration there sooner than another 50 years.

A slice of paradise!

Our group of 8 friends gathered to celebrate one of our birthdays. The entire weekend was sheer perfection! Kirstie did a fabulous job of making us feel welcome and pampering us. Every bed had a lovely basket filled with fresh towels, paper goods and toiletries. There was even a bottle of champagne in the fridge for our friend's birthday! The sound of the surf was present in nearly every room. Couple that with the pleasant melodies from the player piano and it was pure heaven! The home comfortably accommodated all of us with the four full bathrooms. We got lucky and saw dozens of whales and dolphins from our comfy perch in the backyard. Amazing sunsets and the hot tub overlooking the ocean made for a truly romantic weekend. Can't wait to return!!

Great multi generational family getaway

This was the perfect house to celebrate my father’s birthday. There were 12 of us 2 to 86. Plenty of space. The 2 bedrooms and bathrooms on the main floor were perfect for the oldest among us. From the living room you could enjoy the ocean view and the crackling fireplace. Since it was January of course there was a storm, but I think we enjoyed the storm with the cozy fireplace and much as the boughts of sunshine. All ages had a good time. There was a bit of a problem with the refrigerator but Kirstie did everything possible to help. She supplied us with extra ice chest and stocked us up with ice. During the storm the lights flickered and she texted to make sure we knew where the emergency flashlights and lanterns were. She is very attentive without being intrusive. This was definitely the right choice for a multi generational family getaway.

The home has spectacular views from almost every room. My mother and I stayed in the downstairs rooms that view the courtyard. These rooms were very comfortable. Everything was clean. I enjoyed playing the Space Invaders pinball machine. I got the ball stuck and the host easily guided me to fix it. The hosts were very responsive and friendly.The house is pet friendly, you just have to be cautious about wildlife.

Magical Moments & Memories

Our trip was magical - the location of the private beach, the home itself, and the hospitality of Kirstie & Hannah were unmatched! The pictures do NOT do it justice. There was plenty of space for our party of 7. The kitchen was well equipped with anything we could need/want. We LOVED the fireplace, the spa (which was pre-heated), the movie room (and selections), the puzzle station (with so many puzzles), the pinball machine & ping pong table, and being one with Mother Nature (in luxury)! There are multiple nearby trails to explore the beautiful surroundings. Our overall experience was spectacular - we made so many wonderful memories. This home and overall experience was truly one of a kind - highly recommend (10/10)! We will definitely return. Thank you Kirstie and Hannah!

Family Reunion and Birthday Celebration

We convened from various places in th US to enjoy family and commune together. We also celebrated two birthdays of those with us. The home was charming, well appointed and superbly located. The host were accommodating, but invisible, a wonderful combination. Our stay was an enjoyable success.

Great Family Vacation

Amazing Property! There is so much to do in the area, but with a private beach and our own tide pools to explore, we rarely left. The house is designed very well for a multi-generational family vacation. Many spots to sit and relax and watch the waves. resident sea otters were in the bay every day. The pinball game was unexpected surprise to us. We didn't think we would enjoy it so much a whole family competition with our 7 yr old winning.Kristie said that the kitchen was well supplied. That was an understatement. Everything you can need for coking.Hannah did a great job checking us in and walking us through the house. a great week

Wonderful home and location!

I can’t say enough about this wonderful house. As some other reviewers have noted it isn’t as sterile or hotel-like as other rentals. It feels like a home, which helps make you feel Immediately comfortable. You can’t find a better location on the Monterey Peninsula. The tranquility you’ll feel watching the sunsets while sitting behind the house is unmatched. And the tide pooling is ridiculous! My kids spent the better part of each low tide exploring the rocks (the Great Tide Pool is a 5 min walk). Kirstie and Hannah are terrific and willing to help as much or little as you might need. I miss the sea smell immensely.

Fantastic Home in an Unbelievable Location

This house truly delivers on the idea of renting an 'ocean front' property. While you are there you are surrounded by the sound and views of the ocean, and the beach is just a handful of steps off the back door. We spent hours with our pre-teen kids on the beach at low tide investigating all the tide pools. Whether it was on the couch with morning coffee, a drink at sunset, or from the hot tub, we never got tired of the view.The house was lovely -- there's ample space and the rooms were all incredibly comfortable. The kitchen had everything we could have possibly needed, and since we often prefer to cook this was a huge plus for us.Lots of fun activities for the kids between the pinball machine, ping pong, a puzzle table, the hot tub, and the beach. Also a quick drive to the aquarium and cannery row.Was a magical trip, and everyone in the family is already asking when we can go back!

Fabulous place

We had 9 members of our family together to celebrate a special birthday. The home is right on the ocean with gorgeous views of the sunset. Every room is comfortable, and the kitchen is equipped with whatever you could need. When we had one little problem the owner responded immediately to fix it. There is so much to do in the area, but if you never left the house, you'd be perfectly happy!

Wonderful family gathering

Our family, all from out of state, gathered here for Thanksgiving, 2024. The location is incredible, literally on the coast. There are so many things to do in this area we could’ve stayed here much longer, but some needed to return to work. The house was built in 1928 and still retains some quirks, but it has been extensively and attractively remodeled. We agree with the many other 10/10 reviews.

Family Reunion Vacation

We had an awesome 5 day multi-generational family vacation thanks to the hospitality of Kirstie. The house was gorgeous and was stocked with everything you could possibly want or need. The location was perfect, and we were close to many restaurants and shops; and there were many activities for us to do. The views were spectacular, and we could see otters and whales right from the windows of the home. Kirstie was available to answer all questions, and she made us feel very comfortable and right at home. We highly recommend this vacation rental!

Amazing seaside location…Beautiful home!

Our family totally enjoyed all that this wonderful seaside home had to offer! Lovely morning sunrise views from the hot tub, spectacular sunsets, s’mores by the fire pit, tide pooling & lovely evenings surrounded by the warm ambiance of the wood fireplace . Adults and grandkids couldn’t have asked for a better location, home nor host that made our stay so memorable!

Thomas family vacation

Our family had a wonderful time at your beach home. We mostly cooked all our meals at the house. We used the barbarque for great outdoor cooking as well as the kitchen stove top and oven. Loved the large dining room table for family get togethers and the views of the ocean , tides and rocks were amazing. The kids used the hot tub and enjoyed it immensely. Why they chose this property

We bought our home because it was the only home directly on the beach in all of Pacific Grove. It was extremely private, with a golf course across the street, State Park surrounds us, and the blue Pacific is our backyard. We have a full acre of private property. Another residence has since been built next door, on its own acre of land. A portion of our stone driveway is shared by both homes.

What makes this property unique

I love to look out my window and see the full moon casting sparkling light onto the dark waves as it sinks to the horizon. On clear evenings, the sunsets are spectacular. The morning sunrise casts a pink glow on the waves. And when it is foggy, there is a magic about the property that is enhanced with a roaring wood blaze in the fireplace, or a glass of wine in the hot tub.
