2BR/2BA Heron Marsh 58 Split Level Villa w/Lake Views in gated Litchfield by the Sea. Full kitchen, dining area, living room and washer/dryer.
Villa is located less than 1/2 mile from the beach. Resort Amenities Include: 4 centrally located golf courses, indoor pool, outdoor pool with lazy river and play plaza, health and fitness center, bike rentals and bike trails, tennis courts, fishing lake (fishing license required), business center, private beach access, wireless internet access, day spa, and Starbucks.

Other Things to Note: Must be 21 years of age to rent. NO PETS or SMOKING IS ALLOWED. Rental comes with linens, towels and a setup pack of paper towels and toiletries. Unit is individually owned and managed by Litchfield Vacation Rentals; we ask our guests to treat it as they would their own home. Perfect Escape

We loved our stay. Everything about the condo was just right, including the proximity to beach access. We loved the hammock and picnic table under the house as well. We would definitely return!

We've stayed at various places in Heron Marsh over the past 5-6 years, including a year with another family who rented a place. Those accommodations were clean and mos importantly, bug free. Unit 58 does not meet that standard. During our stay, we saw at least a half dozen cockroaches (small and large) in nearly every room of the house, including the upstairs bedroom and bathroom (one was crawling through our toiletry bags), the living room, entry way, and downstairs bathroom. When we called the front desk, they had an exterminator come the next day, but that doesn't immediately address the situation - that typically takes weeks. They did offer to move us to other accommodations, but for various reasons, that didn't work for our family. In addition to the roaches:* Main floor hadn't been mopped - any time we wiped the floor, the paper towel was brown from dirt/sand.* The couch is a pull-out and it's very worn down - you nearly sink to the floor when you sit on it.* The upstairs flooring creaks no matter where you step. If you have light sleepers, anyone walking through the room will likely wake up the others.* When you close the fridge, you have to push the freezer closed. No matter how gently you close the fridge, it pops the freezer door open. * Low water pressure and lukewarm water in the showers and kitchen sink. The outside shower had better pressure and temperature than indoors.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m sorry your stay at Unit 58 fell so far below the standard you’ve experienced at Heron Marsh over the years. Dealing with cockroaches throughout the house, especially in the bedrooms and bathrooms, would be extremely frustrating and uncomfortable. While we appreciate that an exterminator was sent out, we understand that this does not provide an immediate solution during a stay. We also appreciate you taking the time to point out the other issues, including the cleanliness of the floors, worn-out pull-out couch, creaky flooring, freezer door, and low water pressure and lukewarm water. Your detailed feedback is very helpful, and we will make sure these concerns are brought to the appropriate team so they can be addressed. We’re sorry that the alternative accommodations offered did not work for your family and that your stay did not meet the expectations you had based on your previous experiences at Heron Marsh.

Family Vacation

We come to Litchfield by the Sea every summer for the past 5 years and have stayed in a different unit every year. There were 4 of us so the size of the property was perfect for us. Great location. Beautiful view of the pond. Ample seating. Very well stocked in the kitchen and had a blender and a Keurig! The only downside was the bed downstairs dropped in the middle a little and the appliances could use an upgrade. They worked fine but outdated. Bathrooms could use an update too but overall a great place for the money!

Wonderful Long Weekend Stay/ Needs a little TLC

This was so very spacious of a condo, just incredible! Everywhere you looked there was more space, closets had hangers in them, towels aplenty, even games in a closet for those rainy days. There were little things that need a handy-man's attention, though. The drawer to the left of the oven will almost fall out on you, causing a freight, everything in it will slide forward. It is bolted only on one side, so the drawer will fall crookedly. The toilets...my oh my...you may or may not be able to flush them, or only be able to flush them once, or you may only be able to flush them and then have the tank constantly fill with water. The hose that goes inside is salted/rusty and it does look like it's constantly repaired, so the owners do know about this issue. We could've called for repair, but knowing how that would work we'd waste precious vacation time waiting on someone to come to the condo while we were there to fix it. The dishwasher is so close to the underside of the counter that if you have very small/petite fingers you can push the buttons while the dishwasher is closed, but otherwise you'll have to very quickly push the dishwasher button and then close the dishwasher in order for it to register what you just pushed. Also, for checking out you HAVE TO wash the towels yourself. It is written down the very long list on the refrigerator, and by the time we saw this, and got to the grocery store to buy detergent to wash the towels, there was no time for them to dry. We tried.
