Our History
In the early 1900s, Barn Swallow Manor began its life as a sturdy dairy barn and horse stable, standing watch over the rolling fields and quiet creek. A century later, in 2008–2009, it was lovingly transformed into a welcoming country retreat, with a thoughtful refresh in 2022. While preserving the barn’s rustic character, we infused the interior with mid-century modern design and original pieces personally curated to reflect the beauty and simplicity of that era. The result is a space that feels both timeless and inviting — a place where history, style, and comfort come together to welcome families, friends, and travelers seeking peace and room to breathe.

HI my name is Valerie and husbands name is Todd. We are kind, friendly and inviting people. I have lived in the Byron Center area my whole life but Todd comes from the East side of the state. Building our Barn House was the most exciting and rewarding project and dream I have ever accomplished. There is nothing I don't like about our home, and I am blessed to have been able to save this old barn before it became dilapidated beyond repair and turn it into something so many people can enjoy. I often say this old barn has stabled cows, horses and people, but the people have loved it most! I know I do!!

Why they chose this property

Everything about Barn Swallow Manor is oversized, the total space about 8400 and your space about 3000sqft for the 2 bedroom unit. So, from the living room, to the den/game room, bedrooms, dining area, porch and fenced in back yard, it's all big, which makes it very comfortable and inviting for a large range of guests. Barn Swallow is country living at its best! Quiet and peaceful yet we are centrally located and close to everything!

What makes this property unique

Probably the most unique benefits of Barn Swallow, is the country setting, so close to everything, AND besides space & more space, the added bonus that there aren't any steps coming into the barn house! Which means it's easy and accessible to everyone especially with all those suitcases.

The whole 1st level is handicap accessible and we have the walk-in tub, that you can also use the shower feature.

We have a huge 3 season porch! And a large 4 burner gas grill on the way along with a
along with a "smokeless" fire pit. (Both should be installed by the end of March if not sooner.)

The fenced in back yard has a private walking/jogging track which is another feature you don't see everyday!
