Dumpy old property in need of attention. stairs up to bedroom extremely dangerous, sloped outward, narrow and most likely would not meet code. Only bathroom down those stairs. Poorly equipped. Heater sounded like jet engine all night long. just miserable. cost over 400 for 1 night.

Hi Linda!
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We’re sorry to hear that this cabin was not the right fit for your stay.
We do want to clarify a few important points for accuracy. The listing description clearly outlines the layout under Rooms & Beds, stating 1 bedroom, 1 bath, with the upstairs first bedroom / split loft containing two double beds. This information is also reflected in the photos and written description, and we encourage all guests to review these details carefully prior to booking to ensure the home meets their needs.
Regarding safety, every short-term rental in the City of Big Bear Lake is required to pass a city inspection and maintain an active permit in order to be legally rented. This property has passed all required inspections, which is why it is approved for rental and remains permitted.
This home has been in our program for over 6 years, and during that time we have not received prior complaints regarding the stairs or beds, as the layout and features are clearly disclosed in the listing. That said, we do log and review all guest feedback and forward any reported concerns to the homeowner for review.
We regret that your experience was disappointing and that the cabin did not meet your expectations. Our goal is always transparency and guest satisfaction, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify these points for future guests.
This is our second time staying here and have already booked a third! It's quiet, clean and has everything we need. A perfect cabin getaway, for sure!

The cabin was cute although could use some updating for the price. It was perfect for a getaway from all the fireworks in Los Angeles. It was very quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful peaceful cabin
It was quite lovely and clean. I had some issues connecting the tv but a text later someone was there to fix it.
The view and neighborhood was very peaceful and close to everything I needed.
BIG plus for being pet friendly because I brought my precious pups a golden retriever named Philip and Mika my Belgian malinois.
Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Very rustic, basic, without cable TV
Overall the place online looks better than in-person. In general, the place is a little run-down. The bed upstairs was quite uncomfortable. The kitchen was very limited and if you plan on watching TV, you need Netflix or Amazon prime account. Although, I was not planning on watching a lot of TV while there, it caught me off-gauard that the unit did not even have basic cable.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback on this cabin and we will definitely have these things taken care of.
My husband and I wanted to take our boys (14 & 12) to snow board and this was the perfect spot. It was close enough to all the snowboarding, skiing and restaurants.
When we arrived at the cabin it felt totally cozy. Boys loved the yard and immediately started playing in the snow. Super cute cabin. It had all the essentials. It wasnt as clean as I would expect. The couch was very dirty, so I put one of our blankets on it. There was hair in the bathroom floor and sink and spiderwebs on the ceiling. But I would totally stay here again. We fired up the fireplace and it kept place super warm along with the heater. The heater in the bathroom was extra nice, especially after coming out of the shower. Overall we loved it and had a great time. Would highly recommend.

Not my first choice.
I want to start by saying we have rented from Cool Cabins several times and always really enjoyed the homes/never had any problems. Unfortunately, that was not our experience this time. The house we rented was just dirty….top to bottom. We had to wash all dishes and cooking utensils prior to using as they had been put away dirty; not just one or two with missed spots but greasy, caked on food in many cases. I suspect that a previous guest didn't want to do dishes and just put dirty ones in the cabinet. The floors, walls, couch, etc were all also very dirty. I would have thought that the clean had been skipped after the last guest but we did have fresh linens so that wasn't it. The house is in a good location, has parking, a front and back patio, and a smart tv but I would skip renting this again just due to how dirty it was.
Property was nicely situated. Short walk to a nice coffee shop and “dank donuts”. Short drive to the village and to the lake. Price was right. Couldn’t be beat. Great experience.

Hello Maurice! Thank you so much fro reviewing our cabin! We look forward to having you back soon!
Everything was good. The property was nice, cozy, and as described. Super close to the resort, which made for a little difficulty getting in and out, but not too bad. Walls are thin and neighbors are a bit noisy at times. Made it difficult to rest and relax when there's loud music blaring late at night. However, other than that, our stay was great.

So glad you had a great time!! See you next time you’re in Big Bear!
the Get A Way cabin is ideally located for access to the lake, to hiking trails, to decent restaurants, and to a major super market. The neighborhood is very quiet. The cabin was perfectly adequate for my wife, our basset hound, and me. The kitchen is abundantly supplied, and the bed was very comfortable. The Cool Cabins staff were very friendly and efficient. We would certainly use them again in the future!
