Enjoy a quiet, peaceful setting with 80 feet of Lake Huron frontage - our southern facing property near Tawas Bay provides an expansive sandy beach without rocks or seawall and provides sunrise and sunset views. Our driveway ends at a dead end street ensuring privacy and quiet. Our house is near a large swath of undeveloped land so it's quite dark at night creating a mini dark park for star gazing. We have a large propane grill for use and the electric stovetop / oven works great.
2 out of 3 bedrooms have desks for remote work and our WIFI is super strong. There's plenty of seating for family meals and the new Anderson screened doors offer an amazing cross breeze while hanging out indoors.
Our cottage is near East Tawas which offers shopping, Marion's Ice Cream (73rd year!), G's Pizza, Tony's Tacos and more. There's a farmers market every Saturday, family owned Neiman's grocery store and plenty of antique shops. Oscoda is the city north of our cabin - seek out Wellman's for amazing perch, Roger's grocery for donuts and Hilltop Bar & Grill.
Our cleaning crew is top notch so rest assured the property will be spotless. Please *no parties* this is a quiet neighborhood with family friendly vibes.

Close enough to both East Tawas and Oscoda yet far enough to get a way from it all. The lake house was clean and spacious, beautiful grounds, clear water, sandy beach. What more could one ask for?
There was 5 adults here at this beautiful home and we spent 6 nights and 7 days here. Everything u would have needed and wanted in a home. Was super clean and had games to play and the beach was amazing! We plan on coming back to vat at here at this home again! Thanks Martha
This cottage is everything described and more. Comfortable seating throughout, quiet neighborhood, and the water views amazing. Super easy to access the beach down the private boardwalk and Martha provided plenty of beach chairs and beach toys. She was quick to reply to our questions and was a great host. We loved checking out the antique shops in East Tawas, hiking in the Huron forest and visiting Wellman’s in Oscoda for fresh fish! We loved staying here and highly recommend!
We liked the location, nice beach on Lk Huron, the kitchen was well stocked, nice open living with plenty of newer doorwalls for really good views of the beach and water... some suggestions for updgrades... a bigger TV, add a garbage disposal, more comfortable livingroom furniture, update the towels, clean or replace the gas grill grates.
Martha (owner) was fantastic with communication. The cottage was clean, gorgeous, and perfectly located on Lake Huron. The boardwalk from the deck of the cottage over the dunes to the lake gives it a Carolina outer banks vibe but it resembles any eastern seaboard setting. The beach is clean and there are absolutely NO rocks as far as you can walk out into the water (which is hundreds of yards before it even gets waist deep btw) and the bottom in this area is just fine rippled sand. The view is great, the property is great, and the surrounding area is amazing as well. Highly recommended and we will be returning.
We weren't planning a trip this summer due to schedules, but when Martha reached out to say she had an opening, we jumped at the chance and the timing was perfect. This was our second year in a row staying at this beachy-keen cottage and our kids are already lobbying for a third! Our group has six adults and two children and the open living/kitchen/dining area is spacious enough to accommodate us all very comfortably. The kids love sitting on the stools at the kitchen counter to eat, but we could all eat at the dining table if we wanted to. The door walls on three sides let in lots of light and a delightful breeze off the water. Much reading and napping was done! The owner, Martha, is delightful to work with and responds quickly and pleasantly to any questions.

Our Review
Yard leading to boardwalk and beach overgrown with weeds. Hasn't been mowed recently. Worried about ticks.
Master shower handle very difficult to operate.
Small bathroom sink not cleaned very well.
Need better frying pans.
Location very good.
Weather was great.
Internet and ROKU very good.
The house is adorable and well stocked. Rooms were clean and the view is amazing. The house and deck have ample seating for a large family. The beach is amazing. Perfect for sand play and swimming with little kids as it’s very shallow a ways out. There are tons of sand toys, kids books and games. We bbq’d, got local take out, and visited some local parks/beaches that are just a short 10 min drive. Highly recommend for any family for a peaceful, fun getaway.
Just yards from Lake Huron, this charming knotty pine cottage was the perfect getaway spot for our family of eight (6 adults, 2 kids). The cottage was clean and nicely decorated and provided more than enough space for our family to gather together both inside and out. The kitchen had plenty of bakeware/cookware, dishes and serving dishes. Lots of utensils and small appliances, too. Martha also provided a very nice welcome book that included info on the cottage, local stores and restaurants, and area walking trails. Martha was very responsive and helpful both before and during our stay. We felt as though we were treated more like friends than renters.
We stayed for a long weekend and couldn’t have been happier with this property. The location and neighborhood are great. The private beach was amazing! House was as described with lots of little touches for the kids and pet friendly. Property manager is very responsive and answers any questions promptly. We definitely will be returning!

About the host
Hosted by Martha
My family has loved renting cottages throughout Michigan and now we've restored a 1978 cottage for our family, friends, and renters to enjoy!
Why they chose this property
This property faces south which encourages sand to accumulate - we do not have any rocks or seawall. The beach glows in the morning during sunrise and we even experience a bit of sunset at night! A long, private boardwalk takes you to the beach and the initial shallow depth makes it perfect for kids. Wading out a bit farther allows for open water swimming and kayaking.
What makes this property unique
We'll provide beach towels, beach chairs, and sand toys. Keurig coffee maker, plenty of kitchen equipment for cooking and baking plus a smart TV for movie night.
