About this property

Spacious charming private cottage on tropical Coffee Farm with ocean views

Peaceful 5 acre farm, stunning views of ocean, sun sets, night sky. Sprawling tropical surroundings, fruit trees and working coffee farm in a neighborhood with sheep, goats, chickens. Beaches within 20 minutes. Half hour from Captain Cook’s shops, 45 minutes from Volcano National Park.

Fully stocked kitchen with dining area, 3 bedrooms, living room with couch, all with a warm clean design. Being there presents a comfy modern feel with its handcrafted Hawaiian furniture and sunset theme.

Private driveway and carport. The cottage has a front porch and small back porch with beach equipment and full ocean view, is separate from the main house on the estate, and is nestled between tropical landscaping and vibrant coffee farms.
While on your stay you can enjoy a variety of birds, including the Hawaiian red cardinal, pheasants, mating turtle doves, an orchestra of little coqui frogs, geckos and the occasional horned chameleon.

We do have a sweet lab, Reina, who comes to visit on occasion. You might spot a green gecko wandering around in the house occasionally but don't be alarmed, they're just taking care of the bugs for you and might be attracted to any food you leave around uncovered. While you may observe some wild pigs outside the fences and gates, they are not friendly, so please remember to close the gate when you exit or enter the property.

Bath and beach towels as well as replacement linens are all provided. There is a washing machine and dryer for your use in the cottage.

The 6:30 sunsets span across the entire ocean and are visible from the lanai (porch), dining area, and kitchen. Smoking permitted outside only.

Please see this cottage as a home away from home and treat it with the same aloha you would your own.

Captain Cook Stay
Beautiful place to stay for some peace and tranquility. No noise other than that from nature, great views of the night sky and the place has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Make sure to get your groceries before heading to the cottage.

Lovely, quiet, and a beautiful view
We had a lovely time - such a beautiful location with dramatic ocean view. Both bedrooms had comfy beds, host left a LOVELY bowl of fruit for us as well as coffee, honey, etc. Great communication ahead of time and very easy to locate. I stayed with my husband and two family members and it felt like a great size for four adults. We would definitely recommend this lovely little spot for anyone!

Country Paradise with an ocean view
The photos you see, give you an accurate picture. This is a great place that is quiet and away from the hubbub of Kona development. It’s also a great place to launch day trips south, including volcano, national park. No nearby restaurants, so bring food for breakfasts. Good pizza spot and small grocery store nearby. Ocean view is fantastic. At night you will hear the sound of coquis, a small frog imported from Puerto Rico. Don’t be alarmed if you see a gecko or two crawling on the ceiling or living room floor. All are very harmless and fun to watch. The hostess Ina is very responsive to any need you have. We were a family of four from Marin County California traveling in late October 2023.

Paradise Found!
What an amazing place. Falling asleep to the sound of coqui frogs, fresh flowers and fruit waiting for us made this a great home-base for our adventures.

We are a family of 3 with a friendly dog and a cat, my daughter is 17 and together we enjoy taking care of our guesthouse and gardens , as well as exploring the island and admiring the views and natural beauty on our property !

Why they chose this property

Our place offers peace and respite from the Kona tourist hustle, an opportunity to experience Hawaiian small farm life, and a great base to explore the island in between Kona/Kohala coast in the North and Vulcano/Puna to the south while still giving access to some local beaches !

What makes this property unique

Very private, good price for a family of 4 or 5, lots of open space. Tasteful design and newly remodeled interior.
Has a separate driveway and lots of breathing space for privacy between our house and the rental cottage !
Ours is a beautiful property with established tropical ornamentals , fruit trees, and a price winning working coffee farm !
Amazing views of the ocean , sunsets , and night sky !
