Welcome to the quaint village of Fortescue, a Bayshore community in Cumberland County. The beaches along the Delaware Bay are relaxing and peaceful. Fish, swim, kayak or crab at your leisure. Enjoy acres of protected wildlife refuge along the shore and inland. Close to Turkey Point, Bivalve and historic Millville. Our adorable cottage sleeps up to four people and is walking distance to the State and Higbee's Marinas. Charter a boat or launch your own. Have dinner at the Charlesworth Inn or breakfast at Higbee's Luncheonette. Walk to the beach and enjoy our famous sunsets.

Cozy comfort near beach

Relaxing visit. Walk to beach, fish, collect sea glass, great seafood at Red Eye Crab, convenient to luncheonette and bait shop. Really enjoyed our stay!

Excellent 2nd stay!

This was our 2nd stay and it did not disappoint. Cute, comfortable, beautiful sunrises and quiet community. Our pup loved the beach that was just a short walk away. The cottage itself is so quaint and well equipped with whatever you need.

Quiet getaway

My girlfriend, dog and I were just looking for a quiet place where we could take the dog for walks on the beach and have a bonfire at night and this place is perfect for that type of stay.

The house has been beautifully renovated and is very comfortable. The beach and a nature preserve is close and within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

Fall Fishing Trip

We traveled as two couples for a short fishing trip. We absolutely loved the house and we met the host, (great guy), while we were surf fishing. The house was stocked with everything we could need. We plan to return.

Amazing Cozy Home

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well maintained. Lots of information about local spots and a sweet welcome letter from the hosts. Our pup loved running in the sand and walking along the water. Everyone we met was extremely friendly. It was perfect for our needs and we will stay again!

Nice quiet dog friendly get away

House was clean and had everything we needed. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Dogs allowed on the beach a big plus! The owner is very kind and helpful with any questions. We would totally rent again.

Quaint relaxing little bay town

Beautiful little cottage right by the bay. Owners exceptional nice..beautiful place All the little things like drinks in frig, coffee, ect made it so welcoming. The people that live or have vacation property there were all so nice and friendly Loved the holiday parade..felt like kids again..throwing candy Fishing paradise Only thing that we didn’t care for was the green hornets..but to be expected in that type of environment Glad we came

Nice, Quiet, relaxing place to stay

My family and I had a really great time staying at this beach house. Fortescue has a lot to offer with its beaches and marina within walking distance. The home was just as described, comfortable to sleep in and to have get togethers. We had 3 teenager boys, 2 adults and a dog and we had enough room for everyone. They provided a dog bed and bowls. The host was quick to respond to any questions we had. This place has everything you will need. We have already scheduled it for another week long stay.

Lovely quaint property

This property was very recently updated & very well done & designed very carefully to make the most use of space. The sq ft of the property is small to us but actually due to the design felt perfectly adequate for us 3 and our dog. They have lovely touches in the property to make you feel at home and the drinks in the fridge where a nice welcome. The location is all about fishing but we did find some small beaches for the dog and my son to play on. Great relaxing weekend break. The owners where quick to respond and friendly. They even had a dog bed, bowls, leash and bags for dogs if required. The only item in the kitchen they didn’t have was a tin opener for the dog food so we’ll done. Overall great homely vacation 👏🏼

The Sand Castle

This property was amazing in every way! It was my husband and myself for half of the time, and our daughter and her fiancé for a couple of nights. It was cozy, comfortable and clean. The sunsets on the Delaware Bay were the most beautiful I have ever seen! In the past, we have always gone to Wildwood Crest, but I wanted to try something new. It was great! We did drive to Wildwood to go to the beach because we really like the beach there. If you’re looking fir the Wildwood atmosphere, this is not the place for you. If you want to be in a calm and peaceful environment this IS the place for you! We encountered many friendly people and always felt safe. Ken and Suzanne left water, beer and coffee for us to enjoy. If we had any questions they were easily reached and helped with whatever we needed. If you do rent this adorable little place, you will not be disappointed!

It was so convenient having everything available at the house. This meant that we had to pack so much less. The house was clean and very comfortable. One great thing was we were able to bring our dog along with us. Ken was always available and a really nice guy.

Great beach house

Nice beach cottage near the beach and marina. Went to visit for a family weekend. Everything was just a advertised and the cold drinks in the fridge was a nice touch since it was so hot out. The owner were available when the lock code wouldn't work, it was resolved immediately. Definitely will stay again.

Great place and thoughtful hosts

Fortescue is my family's hometown, so finding a great place to stay at an affordable price meant a lot to me and my sister. This wonderful house is clean and cheerful with lots of light. The hosts provided all kinds of extras, like spices, cold water in the fridge, eggs, plastic bags, cleaning products, coffee, and tea. In the back of the house there is a wonderfully shaded sitting area with comfortable chairs and even a fire pit, which would be great for a stay during the cooler months. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful little house and hope to return soon.

A little beach vacation

We enjoyed this little house in a little fishing village! It's a cute and well-stocked property, very comfortable for 2 people and 2 dogs. While we didn't get around to utilizing the back yard much, there was a nice fire pit area! There is a little beach down at one end of town, however during our time there (end of June) there were SO many horseflies! This definitely isn't a knock against the house and property, but just a note about the area and time of year. We couldn't spend anytime outside at the beach without getting swarmed and eaten up, so we drove to Wildwood Beach instead. But Fortescue is a cute town with a nice marina area, you can charter a fishing boat and get a cool experience there!
