One of the most charming places I've ever stayed in. We were greeted with a bowl of eggs from the ducks/chickens at the end of the garden (which we promptly repaid with snacks) and the three small buildings were super clean and incredibly welcoming. There were a few minor bug/dirt related issues with the outside shower but nothing too bad at all. We look forward to coming to stay again!
We loved our stay at the tiny cottages. It was clean and quiet, cozy and charming, and had all kinds of thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area!

Such a cute little spot and everything is so well appointed. We loved sitting in the hot tub watching the ducks and chickens wander around.
Had a lovely stay! The three cottages were tastefully decorated, but we spent most of our time in the hot tub, enjoying our view of the chickens. Definitely will have to come back! :)
Lovely set of wee cabins, clean and well put together. Super comfortable loft bed and the complimentary eggs were delicious! Would absolutely stay here again 😁
The host was very friendly and the property was private and well developed. There was a private hot tub and a gas and wood fire pit so it was perfect for a quite relaxing getaway from the city. I would highly recommend staying there.
My partner and I popped over from VI to mtb Mt. Mahoney. The cottage was a lovely little retreat after a couple days of hard biking. One night we had a hot tub under the moon! Mornings coffees were peaceful and private. The location is about 20 mins from town. People with mobility issues might find getting up/down to the loft a bit hard.
Beautiful, quiet place to relax. The hot tub was such a nice treat. And the TV room was a great place to unwind in the evening. Great touches of farm fresh eggs, coffee, and robes as well.
Will absolutely be back.

I stayed here with a friend in the small cottages. The place was very clean, and we each had our own separate small cottage. I was in the one that was sort of the living room, and my friend was in the one with the kitchen on the bottom and the bed in the loft above. There was a shared bathroom in a separate building between the two and a large deck connecting everything. There is no real cover over the deck, so the first night, it was raining hard, and we got a bit wet going to the bathroom, but it's not far—we could run between the raindrops. No big deal. The rest of our stay was sunny and warm, and it was lovely. We also had a full hot tub, which was nice, and I loved visiting the chickens. There's a private lawn right in front of the cottages, and at the end of that are the world's sweetest chickens and ducks. I had a great time visiting them. I would definitely stay here again.
Kristin and Alex have definitely earned themselves recurring guests after our stay. Their tiny home was fully equipped with everything you would need for a vacation home. From the welcoming crew of chickens and ducks, to the greeting card congratulating us on our anniversary and the homemade cider left in the fridge - we loved the whole experience at Frolander Bay Resort! Kristin was also very prompt whenever I reached out with questions. Now, after being back home for a few days, we are still raving about our stay and have recommended their resort to friends and family. Already looking forward to our next stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at the tiny cottages! The set up is creative and exactly as described. We loved the hot tub and the place was clean super well furnished - more so than we expected given how small. Although we didn’t use it much because the weather was so nice, having the extra room (cottage) with a couch and TV would have come in handy during the winter, as the kitchen and bed are truly tiny and we would have wanted to spread out a bit. Kristin was responsive and super sweet and accommodating. Highly recommend!
Great stay in the tiny cottages. Everything was clean and as described in the listing. We loved the local beach access - perfect for an evening paddle board. Lots to do in the local area in the summer!

About the host
Hosted by Kristin Lohr
I moved from the Lower Mainland to Sechelt, with my husband Alex, in the fall of 2015 and have fallen in love with the beauty and lifestyle of the Sunshine Coast. While living in Sechelt we decided to start our first Airbnb and absolutely loved it! So, when we moved to Powell River we knew we needed to find a property where we could continue to host others - and we think we found the perfect place! We look forward to sharing our home with you, should you decide to stay with us!
Why they chose this property
We decided to purchase this property because of the ocean views, the lot size (2.5 acres) and the close proximity to the ocean. We have a young daughter who now has endless space to run around and we have plenty of room to host guests. The property is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, has a large front and back yard and a stream that runs around the outskirts of the property. We hope you will enjoy this relaxing piece of paradise as much as we do!
