Unwind to the Sound of a Babbling Creek in Soothing Hot Tub
About joe temple
Joe and Sheila live in the small mountain town of Blowing Rock, NC. We enjoy hiking, traveling and being with family/friends. Our mountain home provides a nice change of scenery and climate, as well as a place to decompress from work.

Why joe temple chose Boone
While attending Appalachian State University, we fell in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Our family enjoys the many hiking, rafting, skiing and sightseeing opportunities. The cabin's setting is perfectly situated between Boone and Blowing Rock, providing easy access to many of the area's attractions. Access to the Mountains to Sea Trail is a couple minute's walk away, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is within half of a mile from the front door.
What makes this Cabin unique
We enjoy the convenient location, babbling stream and rustic, cozy feel of the cabin. We hope your family will, too! If you are looking for a cozy cabin experience, then you will find it at Creekside Cottage!

Perfect for our stay.
My wife and I stayed for three days to celebrate our anniversary. We met in Boone so it was lovely to be near both Boone and Blowing Rock but still secluded in a cozy little house. Great experience.
Very cute and cozy home in a very convenient location about 2 miles from Tweetsie and right between Boone and Blowing Rock.
My son and I really enjoyed our visit and were very comfortable in Joe’s house. This home will be on our ‘return to’ list for sure!
A Mixed Bag
Start with the positive. The cabin is cozy with two bedrooms and one full bath. You are less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house is in full shade with a creek running slightly in front of the back deck. There is privacy on three sides. Both the front and back deck are very pretty. The propane fireplace worked flawlessly.
Excellent internet. TV had guest Netflix. DVD worked fine - but cannot play Blu-Ray.
We did not use the hot tub or the outdoor fire pit.
Negatives: No coffee, shampoo, bath soap or road salt. The lack of road salt was inexcusable given the sleet and ice which covered the steps and deck into the home.
The owner refused to communicate. I asked a simple question: do you need a 4WD vehicle to use the property? No response. Only communication was a form email about property access and rules delivered less than 24 hours before the start of the rental.
BTW: 4WD may be necessary if heavy snow or ice to get up Aho road and to get up the driveway to the property.
Cabin was marginally clean. Cobwebs in higher spots, heavy dust and grime under beds. Enough dust to trigger our admittedly severe allergies.
The indoor square footage is limited. If you rent during bad weather the max I would have is 3 people who got along very well. More than 3 and people would probably get on each others nerves.
Outdoor garbage can was 100% full when we arrived and was never emptied. Lucky for us, we could drop our bagged garbage off with nearby family members.
We could not beat the convenience of the location for visiting family - but would not rent this again.
Thank you for being our guest and your feedback. We are sorry that our cabin did not meet your expectations. We work hard to provide our guests with an exceptional stay, and we are always available to help navigate any issues that come up during the stay. While we have provided quality amenities such as coffee, creamer and shampoo in the past, housekeeping usually found these items needed to be replaced after each checkout. It is not our intent to mislead our guests, therefore we do not advertise these items in our description of the property. Also, the square footage of the cabin along with pictures of the rooms are posted so that each guest can see beforehand what they are renting. The cleaning service works very hard to clean the cabin and keep it to the standards our guest expect. In order to meet a turnaround deadline from the morning checkout, the cleaners, in their haste, must have overlooked taking the salt from the storage room and emptying the garbage from the outside container. This will be addressed promptly.

Wonderful little cabin!
Close to everything and perfect for my husband and I and our 6 year old. We would love to stay again!
Great little cabin in ideal location for family adventure
We loved our stay at Creekside Cottage. It's on the small side, but very clean, well appointed and packed with features, including a fireplace, hot tub, outdoor firepit and creek in backyard.
The location is fantastic - less than 10 mins from both Boone and Blowing Rock, making it a great base for exploring the area.
We didn't see or communicate with the owner during our stay, but everything was exactly as advertised, instructions for check-in and enjoying the house were clear, and deposit promptly refunded.
We hope to stay here again in the future, loved every second of our trip to Boone and our time in this gem of a cabin.
Lovely cabin. Perfect for a special occasion. Very clean and private.
