Gina was incredibly helpful. The communication and instructions were clear and she provided video examples for checking in and operating devices. She left games for my kiddos and the pacman was a family favorite. Location is accessible. Overall, great visit and we hope to be back.
The host Gina is friendly and a great communicator which made the check in process was very easy. My family and I had an amazing stay and would recommend.
The space is very clean and welcoming. Beautiful views of the city with a nice deck to enjoy the sunsets. Communication with the host was easy and she was very accommodating. Overall great stay!
My family loved staying here. The host was very attentive and generous! It is the first time a host had procured special snacks to welcome us to their home. The views were spectacular and it was even more special since we stayed over the July 4th weekend! We will definitely stay here again.
We had a lovely stay for the two days. I had my grandchildren with me and my nephew that I have custody of and we all had a wonderful time. I like the fact that the house was stocked with games as my kids said, old games, but at least we had things to do. Thank you so much.
Just as advertised - updated decor, cozy and well stocked. Gorgeous view of city. In a neighborhood, quiet, convenient to Oakland and surrounding towns. Half an hour to San Fran depending on traffic. Attentive host. Highly recommend!
Loved the home. Beautiful view and nice area. Easy to find. We came to Oakland to spend Xmas with my son that lives nearby. Owner allowed us to bring a tree and she also brought some holiday decorations that was very thoughtful of her. Owner was quick to response any questions I had. I will rent again when I visit my son. Thank you for allowing our family enjoy your home HAPPY NEW YEAR!
When i think about Oakland, I worry about where there is crime and am not familiar where the 'bad' areas are, but when I saw this house on VRBO I had to inquire. Gina, the owner, was pleasant, answered my questions, and put my mind to rest. We booked it.
This home was emaculate, had all amenities, was easy access to the freeway, and we felt right at home.
Our event was in San Ramon and took less than 30 minutes to get there, and there was virtually no traffic...during Memorial Day weekend.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to the bay area!
Thank you, Gina, for your promises that we would love it! We do!
The highlight of staying here was 1)communicating with
Gina-she was very responsive and accommodating, and 2)the magnificent view! There were 5 of us and it was comfortable. The downstairs "room", is great in that it has the nice views, especially the lights at night. In the morning it is very bright and there is no privacy, but this is mentioned in the listing. That room also has a Nest smoke detector which flashes its green light throughout the night, so if that is something that would disturb you, you would want to wear a sleep mask. It seems like it is probably the most plausible place for a smoke detector downstairs. It was fine for us. Comfortable beds. It could use a little more comfortable sitting/lounging furniture in the TV room as it was a little tight for 5. The kitchen was clean and cute, could probably use a little more cookware, so if you had something that wasn't super simple that you planned to make, you may want to bring that along. We are originally from Southern CA and know the reputation that Oakland has, but we felt totally safe in this neighborhood. You can see that there are many homes that are being fixed up, which is good. We actually walked 1/2 mile down to a Thai restaurant after dark and we felt safe-you'd have to judge that for yourself. It is very steep, hilly neighborhood, so a great little workout. We would stay here again!
This house is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood, streets are steep though. The house was very well furnished and was airy and bright. I think there were 3 different ways to make coffee! You should note that 1 bedroom opens directly into the living room and kitchen with no doors. Not a problem for us. It is still a bedroom with a comfortable bed, (much more comfortable than a sleeper sofa). Actually all the beds were very comfortable. Each room had it's own fan/air conditioner, so everyone could sleep in the temp they preferred, loved that! The porch is quite nice with a view.We had more than 1 car and there was plenty of street parking at all hours. We really enjoyed our stay there and would return.

About the host
Hosted by Gina Moraga
I’m a maker, small business owner, proud mother of two incredible children, and the wife of a firefighter! Growing up, my grandparents taught me that a home is more than walls and a roof. It is a place for connection. A place where family and friends gather, laughter fills the dinner table, and neighbors pause to share stories over a warm cup of tea. That lesson has stayed with me throughout my life. Please enjoy this home as if it were your own—because homes are meant to be shared.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this neighborhood because it offers the best of the Bay Area. Peaceful residential streets, beautiful views, and convenient access to everything we enjoy. From here, it's easy to explore Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, Napa Valley, and the surrounding region, while still returning home to a quiet place to relax at the end of the day. We especially love the sense of community, the diversity of cultures, and the abundance of great food, parks, and local businesses nearby. Whether we're enjoying a neighborhood walk, catching a ferry into San Francisco, or introducing visitors to our favorite local restaurants, this area always feels welcoming and connected. After many years here, we're still discovering new things to love, and we're excited to share a small piece of it with our guests.
