About this property
Live Like a Parisian in Montmartre
The apartment is open and full of light with floor to ceiling windows in both rooms, a queen size bed as well as an incredibly comfortable queen size sofa-bed. We love to cook so the kitchen is well equipped and completely functional, and we give you recommendations for local shopping and restaurants.
The apartment is in a 19th century building that was originally a hotel and the home of Jacques Brel when he first came to Paris. It is on the 4th floor (5th US) in the back of the building where it is quieter. Yes, there is an elevator and two security doors at the entrance.
Both Metro Abbesses and Anvers are close, and the bus stops at the corner so you can be almost anywhere in Paris within 15-20 minutes. Gare du Nord, where you catch the Eurostar or the RER to the airport, is a 15 minute walk.
We are close to music and theater venues, and there is a thriving local nightlife for the young or young at heart as well as great shopping for food, art, clothing, you name it.
You will be welcomed by a bilingual woman (our Parisienne daughter!) who will be available by text/cell/WhatsApp during your stay if questions or problems arise. She is like a concierge and lives around the corner.
This is our second home and very special to us, so we only share with special people who appreciate Paris as we do. We hope you will be one of them.

About the host
Hosted by Laurie Guitteau

I live in Santa Barbara, California, but I am totally a francophone. I love cooking in France, I love wandering in Paris and visiting the myriad of beautiful regions of France.
Why they chose this property
Parisians say that Montmartre is a "vrai village," a genuine village, and it truly get is. If you avoid the tourist scene at Sacre Coeur, you are living just like a Parisian of old with the local merchants and the same neighbors that you see each day as you go about your errands on the cobblestoned streets.
Because it was originally outside the walls of Paris, Montmartre was the home of many of the artists of the late 19th, early 20th centuries, including Picasso, Toulouse Lautrec, Matisse, Van Gogh and still is a "quartier" of artists and galleries.
