Also we can offer our planning service with excellent rates of all the tours in the area, private tours, private shuttle services and much more.

We have our meal service in Casa de La Tortilla with Guiselle, once you book you can ask for our menu.

In the property we have another Villa, each is very private and you do not share with anyone.

We offer FREE PLANNING SERVICE for your transportation and tours in La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area, just let us know what you would like to do and we will help you to organize your vacations in our country with excellent rates and service. Pros-Location is good and the outside and inside appearance of the house is good. Cons-There are some maintenance issues that need to be addressed. We had an issue with an ant colony in the house that we had to take care of (purchase ant spray and ant traps). The kitchen drain needs attention as it drains into the cabinet. The warm water is very intermittent in the showers.

The host was welcoming and very responsive to our questions throughout our stay. We found our property to be comfortable, spacious and well-located within walking distance to the swing into the river.The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking, plates, and utensils. We could have used more kitchen towels to wipe the dishes since there is no dishwasher.We also found that the laundry washer and dryer took a very long time to wash and dry clothes - often several hours with frequent monitoring. There were also some critters that entered the home - ants and cockroaches. Perhaps that is due to the rains. Otherwise, we enjoyed the rooms with separate bathrooms and ability to cook our own meals.

Perfect House

We loved our stay at this property. The view of Arenal was really cool and it was a short walk to El Salto for the rope swing which our kids loved. Overall it was a great place and we would stay here again.

Our large family had a great stay at this property! The grounds were beautiful and the view of the volcano when it wasn't covered with clouds was beautiful. The kids had a great time at the rope swing which was only a 5 minute walk from our place! The concierge service was very helpful with planning activities and getting us places. Perfect La Fortuna Spot

Our party of 7, including 5 adults and 1 kid and one baby all loved staying here. It was centrally located to the town and all of the activities we had planned. The indoor/outdoor setup is great for a large group. The kitchen has plenty of appliances and also a grill outside. We also took advantage of some of the tour coordination through the owners, who were helpful along the planning process.

Possibly the best VRBI we have ever stayed at!

If you are looking to stay in La Fortuna then Home Vacations is who you want to book with. From the time of booking up to arrival at the property the team was outstanding. Upon arrival Carlos metvus and even guided us to the property. We then booked all of our excursions with the same company and saved a ton. We are already looking to come back next year and do some different adventures!

Clean property with incredible views of Arenal!

The home was clean, spacious enough for two families (we really utilized the outdoor area for eating/hanging out), and had the most amazing views of Arenal! We could not get the hot water to work in all the bathrooms, even with the host coming out to check on it. The kitchen has very limited food storage. But the a/cs work wonderfully and we had a great time there for the couple of nights we stayed.

Place was large enough for our group (4 adults; 3 kids) and the outdoor seating area was nice. Kitchen had all appliances and items needed for cooking, but there were cockroaches in the kitchen cupboards and the bathrooms. There were trails of small ants in the kitchen, too, but we experienced that in other places in Costa Rica (just not the cockroaches). We did have hot water in the showers, although it was very intermittent, not reliable and sometimes took a long time to get there. The couch inside was very uncomfortable regardless of how short or tall you are. Beds were comfortable enough with an assortment of pillows to choose from.

Prior to arriving, I read recent reviews by previous guests and was reassured by management their the lack of HOT water was rectified ( “ just a fuse”). Not the case. Our showers were cold most of the time, or if they started with hot water, within 2 minutes they turned cold. I understand electricity in Costa Rica is much more expensive,than U.S. but that is unacceptable.

Villa Margarita - La Fortuna

The house is well laid out and well suited for 4 couples. Beds comfortable. Rest of furniture adequate. Only the bedrooms had A/C and that was adequate to cool the whole house. The kitchen appliances worked properly. On the negative side: One of the rooms never had hot water. The rest worked sporadically. Perhaps the instant on water heater is inadequate. The owner’s rep was unable to get one of the A/C units to adjust the temperature. The fan remotes in the common areas did not function. The rep could not get them to work. Doubling the number of towels would be a nice touch. Overall: The house is very nice, well located, and worked well for us. Some attention to details on the part of the owners would change this property to excellent.

Beautiful home in La Fortuna

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home in La Fortuna. I will lay out the pros and cons below, but the pros definitely outweighed the cons and did not detract from the 5 star feeling of this property. Pros - Beautiful spacious home! - Very comfortable beds - and a lot of them if you need - Great outdoors space with great seating, pool, and terrific view of volcano - Great location - Secure and ample parking - Easy check-out Cons - Check in process required going to an alternate site to assist with check-in instead of allowing self check-in The last thing you want to do after a long drive is wait in an office for someone to help you get into your place. - There is one large window in the middle of the house that is just a screen to the outside. We heard music and conversations from the next door neighbors like they were in your house. - Limited hot water, but that seems to be the norm in Costa Rica

Family Costa Rica Getaway

The people who manage the property and handle check in are very kind, patient, and attentive. When we checked in he even helped translate to order us pizza, so appreciated as we were tired and 2 hrs behind schedule due to airport delays and they were kind and supportive. The home is very nice and a wonderful set up. The outdoor living space was well utilized by our group ( 2 families 1 with 4 adult children and 1 with 16/12 year olds). The pool was refreshing and clean- just be careful the deck gets slippery. The big beach towels were nice. the ONLY issue and it was big was the hot water. The back bedroom consistently had hot water the other 3 bathrooms and kitchen had absolutely NONE- to a bare trickle. We called and the caregiver came out- we followed the rules reset the on demand heater etc, tried showering in the middle of the night, we tried split shower times etc etc---it truly needs to be fixed and if it could be this place would be 5 star for sure. We felt very safe and it was easy to navigate to downtown. It was close to the waterfall which we all enjoyed and the restaurant Tiquicia and the amazing margaritas. Overall had a great experience- just wish the water was a better situation, I wouldn't book again unless I knew it was resolved as it was a big issue for our group of 10.

The location of the property is perfect and the home is beautiful- having 4 bedrooms and 4 bathroom was perfect for two families- there was plenty of pots and pans, plates and kitchenware. We spread out using the outdoor seating area and the grill. The washer and dryer are a plus. 1. You have to pick up the key offsite. And at pickup I let them know there was actually an additional person that they charged me for- they could not provide documentation that this particular property would charge for an additional person seeing that we were below the 14 person limit- when I booked it was per night not per person. And after I paid, there was never an email or any documentation stating that additional person would be charged. I ended up paying an additional $20 per night. 2. The hot water in the house did not work so I let the company know and the cleaning lady came, turned on all the water in the house, all showers and sinks, for 15 minutes and then we finally had hot water. 3. The screen door in the living room had the screen disconnected from the screen door. 4. There is a huge window at the end of the hallway where you can hear the neighbors like they are in your house. Overall the experience was good. Just would have appreciated all the information upfront.

Good location but not a pleasant stay.

Check in process was complicated. This listing is managed by a management company that is only available from 8am-8pm. Any issues after that time, you are on your own. To check in you need to go to the main office where they give you a key to go to the property. The property itself is elegant. Looks professionally designed. However, this place was infested with ants. Every bedroom, every bathroom, all along the walls. Ants got into all our luggage. There was also NO hot water. We tried to bath our kids after a full day of hiking. The water was hot for 2 min and then it remained cold. It was cold in the morning and the following day. Had to take a cold shower. It was really not pleasant. The final issue was not as dire. The dryer only drys at 25% of the load volume. If you try to put more than a few items inside, the dryier did not work. We ended up hanging our cloths everywhere outside. I messaged the management when we arrived to complain about these issues. Somebody arrived the next morning to check it out. Sprayed bug spray in the kitchen, but did not do much to solve the problem. He also noted that the boiler was "on", which is wonderful, but still did not help the situation. As far as they were concerned, the driver was working. Needless to say, we so happy to leave! This was not a very pleasant experience for us.
