My family and I enjoyed a terrific stay at this property. Everything was as described, and then some. Beautiful, serene setting, with all of the amenities you could ever ask for.
This property is better than the pictures! It was a perfect place for our family to be during a large family event. 20 min to beach, close to Dublin store and family. Carolyn, the local contact with help, was professional and responsive. It’s a great locations for privacy or ease to nearby attractions. We will be using this home again! The bonus was it’s dog friendly!
We loved the roominess of this cabin that had absolutely every amenity we needed. There was plenty of room for our trailers as well. Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed it and want to return in the winter time to try the snowmobile trails!
We were a group of six family members 65+ and found this house very comfortable. It was very clean and well-stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. There were a lot of places to take day trips to. We enjoyed our week very much.

Happy to hear you enjoyed your visit!!!
There are approx 15 coffee cups in the upper cabinet to the right of the stove, glasses upper to the left of stove. Also, on the lower level shelves, there are plastic and styrofoam cups.
Hope you visit again!!
Karen’s property was beautiful and perfectly located for a fantastic, long weekend getaway! Karen was super helpful in recommending a perfect contact for kayak fun. We spent an entire day on the Manistee River making memories. It was also not a far drive into Manistee for a gorgeous day on the beach of Lake Michigan. The fire pit in the yard was enjoyed each night! The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Our family will happily return to this location again!
We booked the same place year after year because we love the privacy. We put on a big mountain bike race nearby and it is nice to just head back and relax at the cabin! We spent most of our time outdoors and loved the new Michigan chairs at the fire pit. They have also updated the basement and got rid of the carpeting, which makes it appear so much larger and cleaner.
My wife wrote her thoughts about the log house and it says it all. Here is what she had to say...
The first morning when I woke up I opened the window and lots of deer were around the house and I was so thrilled because I never saw deer that close before!
The next day I went outside early in the morning on the front porch with my coffee and it was magical! The house is surrounded by lots of trees and it was so calming and peaceful. Inside the house is absolutely beautiful and everything was there that we needed. (One more thing the garage is high enough for our roof box on the car so that we didn’t have to take it off the vehicle. That was just perfect for us as well!). We really enjoyed our stay and Karen was a great and responsive host as well.

Very nice rental, one problem for me (maybe not for you)
This is a very nice rental, property is in excellent condition, very well equipped, lots of extras. Everything about the property is as good as or better than advertised in the listing. Owner was very helpful and co operative in trying to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
The problem for me is that I am not very fond of roosters or chickens, there is a pack of about a dozen roosters roaming all over the property, crowing and clucking pretty much 24/7. They are owned by the caretaker of the property whose residence is a couple of hundered feet from the cabin. As a renter, if you are OK with roosters this is a great place. If not, you may not like it.

Hello All, I would like to inform everyone that the chickens are no longer on the property. I have to say that I am sorry to see them go, they were kind of cute, but they have moved on to their new home.
My Wife and I really enjoyed the tranquility of this property. We had a mix of sunshine and rain. The rain made the property even cozier than it already is. Because we used the upstairs bedroom, we weren't even aware of the beautiful bedroom downstairs until the night before we were leaving. This home had such a good vibe attached to it. I don't usually say these kinds of things, but it truly felt as if there were Good Spirits there. We loved the upscale bedding. The only problem with that was you never wanted to get out of bed. Lol! We thoroughly enjoyed this property due to the fact that Karen has really thought of everything to make your stay a very enjoyable one. We did leave our pillow out by the fire pit that we brought up. It got rained on and we forgot to bring it back with us. Just to let you know it was ours and not yours. We don't want you to think we took your pillow outside. Thank you to our host Karen for sharing her beautiful house and property with others. Happy Autumn!

Thank you for visiting and I hope you’ll visit again!!
Only discouraging when we first saw the little house up front. Once we realized our cabin was behind we found it to be a beautiful log cabin. Very relaxing stay.
Quiet beautiful cabin off the beaten path. Very comfortable and well equipped. Very comfortable beds. Plenty of room for the family to spread out but also plenty of room in living room to gather. One family member was able to work remotely using the cabin’s Wi-Fi and her hotspot. Used the fireplace multiple times which was great with the cooler weather. Plenty of room for our dog to enjoy. The view out the sunroom was spectacular with the fall colors. Would highly recommend staying here and would love to stay here again
Property was great. Well kept. Amenities as described. Lot of 'extras' about like trash bags and paper plates we were able to 'borrow' and replace after we made it into town.
Literally off in the woods with deer running about in the evenings that the boys loved seeing.
Close enough to a couple larger towns so supplies were easy to get and only about 15 min from the beach.
Plenty of firewood about and a nice firepit for hotdogs and marshmallows.
Loved it and loved staying there. Will (hopefully) do so again!
Since my daughter moved to MI near Detroit and started a new job, I thought planning a family get together might be possible if she could meet us part way by going to the western part of lower MI. My husband and I live in Marshfield, WI so taking the SS Badger across Lake MI was very feasible. He is disabled so the 3 hour drive to Manitowoc, the 4 hour boat ride, and the 1 1/2 hours to the cabin were quite doable for him. Our son from CA had flown to be at our house the day before. We met there and had a wonderful time. The weather even cooperated by being in the 60s and lower 70s. (Thanks, Karen, for arranging that.) We celebrated our daughter’s birthday, played games and had a great time. There would be only one suggestion that I could make, and that would be to have a small ramp placed at one of the stairs up to the porch. It would have been helpful for my husband’s walker.
My architect son enjoyed looking at the log construction too. Neat place.

Why they chose this property
We wanted a log home in the woods in northern Michigan that felt like we were in northern Michigan. When we want to get away from it all...we want to get away from it all. The feeling you get from being in a log cabin in woods is like no other and yet it's still not far from small towns and city's, beaches, rivers, a casino, shopping, downhill skiing, golfing, fishing, snowmobiling and so much more!!!!
What makes this property unique
Mushrooming, stargazing, campfires, hiking, barbecues, clean and comfortable log cabin, peace and quiet!
