About this property
Secluded Mountain Cabin with Fast Internet, Focused Retreat, Rough Road
Yearning for a place that feels far removed from civilization, accessed by a rough mountain road with all-wheel drive recommended, yet still within 25 minutes of town? This may be the right fit.
This is a newly constructed log cabin, completed in 2021 and furnished in 2023, located in an original, rugged Western North Carolina mountain community. The property offers true seclusion while remaining approximately 25 minutes from Downtown Hendersonville and Asheville Regional Airport.
This cabin features true fiber or satellite internet, making it well-suited for remote work or extended stays where reliable connectivity is essential. The home is fully furnished and turn-key, including electricity, HVAC, indoor and outdoor furnishings, grill, kitchenware, towels, linens, and a well-equipped kitchen. Simply arrive with your clothes and groceries.
Enjoy mountain views from your private one-bedroom cabin and the expansive 650+ square foot “treehouse” deck. A propane gas fireplace is included and available seasonally.
Access & Terrain
The property is accessed via a maintained mountain gravel road. All-wheel drive or high-clearance vehicles are strongly recommended, especially during winter weather or heavy rain. Two-wheel-drive vehicles do make it up regularly by driving slowly, but guests should be comfortable with mountain driving conditions. Amazon and delivery services do reach the property.
Utilities & Environment
Due to the mountain location, occasional power outages or snowed-in days are possible. Backup power and heat are provided. Wildlife sightings are possible in this forested environment.
Seasonally, fresh eggs from our chickens may be available at no charge when they are laying.

Why they chose this property
We chose this mountain location for its authentic Blue Ridge character and sense of separation from urban life, while still being within a reasonable drive of town amenities. This is a working mountain community where residents value space, self-reliance, and connection to the land.
The area is surrounded by forest and wildlife, and guests will experience the natural rhythms of mountain living. Depending on the season and time of day, that can include outdoor work, neighbors using equipment, wildlife sounds at night, and occasional community activity. For guests who appreciate a rural setting and understand that nature and mountain life are not silent, this location offers a unique and grounding experience.
We built here to create a place where people can slow down, unplug from constant stimulation, and enjoy a setting that feels genuinely removed from city life, without being isolated from essential services.

What makes this property unique
This cabin was purpose-built as part of a small, privately developed mountain retreat rather than a converted vacation rental. Designed and constructed by the hosts, it reflects a focus on durability, functionality, and long-term use in a rugged Blue Ridge Mountain environment.
What sets the property apart is the combination of true mountain seclusion and modern infrastructure. While accessed by a rough mountain road and surrounded by forest, the cabin offers reliable fiber or satellite internet, backup power and heat, and a fully turn-key interior suitable for extended stays and remote work.
Unlike typical vacation rentals, this property is part of an active mountain micro-community with on-site management, realistic disclosures about terrain and conditions, and clear expectations designed to attract guests who appreciate authentic rural living rather than a resort-style experience.
For guests seeking a genuine Blue Ridge setting with modern essentials already in place, this cabin offers a rare balance of remoteness, reliability, and intentional design.
