Rustic Cabin, Appalachian Elegance, Rural But Close
As of May 23, 2020, my cabin is available for rent. I will follow CDC guidelines on cleaning, using an EPA-approved disinfectant for COVID-19 between customers. Thank you, George Stanley.
Appalachia at its best. A mountain cabin re-created within the basement (first floor, ground level) of my home for your pleasure. Private entrance(s), covered deck/patio, open deck, great view, very private setting.
The location has an East-West orientation, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Great place to sit, relax, and enjoy your favorite beverage.
The cabin is fully self contained. It has its own kitchen, bath with shower (no tub), and a small living/dining area. One bedroom with a king size bed.
Centrally located between I-40 and I-26, on Busbee Mountain, the property borders the Biltmore Estate and blends in with the Blue Ridge Parkway at an elevation of 3,346 feet. To get a real glimpse of the property, go to https://youtu.be/gd66YZ9MEsE
My refund policy is very relaxed, generally, if you are not here, you get a refund. We can work through any situation.

Absolutely loved the place. Amazing views to drink coffee on the porch, comfortable bed, and hospitality provided by George made it such a great experience. We’ll definitely be booking again for our next trip.
We loved our stay! Our host George treated us and our dogs like family. Our cabin had everything we needed. The view was amazing, especially the sunrises. We look forward to visiting again!
This cozy cabin was perfect for our Asheville weekend getaway! Close to everything we had planned, yet tucked away enough to feel completely secluded. Even cuter in person and spotless! We loved our stay.
Great apartment with awesome views. Kitchen is well stocked. Bed was comfortable enough. Drive to the place was steep and on a one lane moutainside road.

As of today, Jan 5, 2026, new bedding has been delivered. I appreciate this guest letting me know the bed was only "good enough". I want my guest to have an experience worthy of the visit and be completely satisfied.
Wonderful stay with great views and close proximity to the city! This is my second stay at George’s property and it’s such a nice place and a fantastic value. It’s quiet and secluded but you’ll be in the city within 15 minutes. My dog and I both enjoyed our stay and we’ll be back!
We absolutely loved this precious cabin!! George is a super host and we enjoyed his company and knowledge of the mountain. We will definitely be staying here over and over!!
Such a wonderful, inviting and quaint cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The mountain views are stunning - we even got to enjoy a little dusting of snow. And then there’s George- he is such a welcoming and warm host. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to visit again. Dale & Debbie
Beautiful view and very peaceful at this rustic cabin. George is a great host and was helpful in finding the best places to hike. It’s only a short drive to downtown Asheville. I enjoyed my time here.
George “left the light on” for our late arrival and even greeted us. He responded to messages within minutes. The cabin is clean and cozy with lots of fun detail. The scenery is incredible! Great experience!
We had a great time at the cabin. My wife and I wanted to get away for a few days without the kids, and this was the perfect place. Quiet, peaceful, great view, close drive to downtown. George was a great host. We would definitely go back if we get the chance.
Great stay! Comfy bed, great view, hospitable host. Conveniently located to downtown Asheville. Will definitely stay again.

I am retired. I enjoy my cat, Olly.
I retired from the Community College System and enjoy meeting people, thus the rental.
I enjoy traveling and finding neat places. I hope I have created one here.
Why they chose this property
I had a half -finished basement when I purchased the home, which I separated from the house upstairs. I envisioned a downstairs cabin so others could enjoy the beautiful mountains as I do.
What makes this property unique
Living on a rural mountain and bordering the Biltmore Estate Property, there is an abundance of wildlife - turkey, deer, pheasants, bear, raccoons, generally all sorts of wildlife. I have pictures of bear in the yard and in close-by trees. At an elevation of 3,346 feet, the cabin overlooks a huge valley. The valley is often filled with fog, creating a beautiful sunrise at eye-level.
