The vibe of our chalet is centered around the Danish practice Hygge (hue-guh). We strive to cultivate a home away from home that makes you feel welcome, in the moment, relaxed & cozy. Just 15 minutes to downtown Anchorage & airport yet tucked into the cusp of 20 acres of undeveloped natural forest known as Griffin Park. The Alaska wilderness experience is right out your door. After a full day of exploring, the space is perfect for curling up with a book and a blanket in the basket chair by the window or settling into one of the comfy robes available after a nice steam in the sauna before enjoying a restful night on the super comfortable mattresses. The upstairs unit features a large kitchen stocked with essentials, living/dining area w/ vaulted ceilings. Peek-a-boo views of Cook Inlet, mountains & forests . Master br has a top of the line Birch brand mattress and topper plush queen bed & its own bathroom. 2nd br has 2 comfy beds, 1 Full & 1 Queen. There is also a fun whale tent bed topper option for kids (by advanced request only). Enjoy a moment to reflect and just breathe in our large cedar sauna. The downstairs unit is accessible via an exterior door or interior connecting staircase. So many things to love here: the peaceful location soothes the senses with the gentle babble of adjacent Rabbit Creek, walk into a front sunroom great for board games and puzzles (the chalet provides lots of those). Here you will also find an auxiliary sleeping quarters with a comfy queen bed! The loveseat also turns into a single bed. French doors open into the living room where you can stoke up a fire in our quirky German antique fireplace (not the main heat source) or kick back and enjoy a movie. There is a second pull out couch bed. We also have a bonus private alcove we call the Fox Hole. A fun tiny “bedroom” for kids to have their own space. The dining area pass through showcases our fully functional capriciously decorated kitchen. You’ll want to linger a little longer in the sink-in comfort of our California king bed and bedding in the spacious master bedroom suite. It has lots of closet space. There is a full bathroom and also your own private laundry room in the apartment.
Truths: 🔅There is no dishwasher in the downstairs unit. (Unless you brought a kid kitchen slave) 🔅 While the apartment itself is all one level you will need to navigate some stairs to get to it. It’s not handicap accessible. 🔅 A vehicle equipped for snow/ice conditions is recommended for winter.

Three generations of family stayed in the whole house for a wedding. Perfectly cozy and great set up with family room and two kitchens. Communication with the hosts was prompt and easy.
This place has so much character, we absolutely loved it. It was perfect for our multigenerational family trip. It very much made us feel right at home.
Scotti is a great host, very responsive to all my questions. The house is spacious, elegantly decorated and adequately supplied. Too bad we stayed there for only one night. Would love to come back and relax there for a longer period.
The house is quiet and comfortable with a cabin in the woods feeling; despite this its location provides easy access to all Anchorage has to offer. Thanks for the stay.

We enjoyed our short stay at this adorable home. We used both main floor , basement, and upstairs area! It was very comfortable for all 9 of us. We even did a couple loads of laundry. Thank you Scottie for replying so fast to our questions!
Stayed with family, 6 adults and 4 children, ages 6-11. Lots of space to spread out and have time together and apart. Kitchen well stocked. Loved the games and activities, we all colored and played games around the dining room. Beds very comfortable and the sauna was a hit. Has a very sweet cottage vibe. Would have loved to stay longer. Make sure to check out the fox den!
