Travel back in time without losing todays comforts in this fully-renovated 2200 sq ft, three bedroom (+ Great Room couch/chase), late 1800’s Farmhouse with tiled baths, washer/dryer stack unit, utility sink, equipped galley kitchen, spacious bedrooms, charming, roomy and quiet gathering spaces for conversation and relaxing, including a large, covered back porch where you can sit and watch the sun set. Keep the family together for a special occasion, college graduation celebration or even a small wedding on early American farmland. [NOTES: NO PARTIES and No outside, unpaid guests are allowed without written permission. (Weddings permitted for additional fee.)

Fence is not closed. Use leash with pets prone to run from owner. Plenty of room in back to play and poop.

Owner presently occasionally stays in separate building (old milking barn) behind house w/“Neighbor” the cat. Neighbor is so sweet but I do not permit her in the farmhouse. She has food and shelter in the barn.]

Very nice house that worked well for our group visiting for a family wedding. It was to be expected that an historic home would not be toddler friendly but we kept an eye on them and had no issues. Owner communicated well. Barn cat was a bonus for the grandkids.

Great host and communication, very easy check in and out. Outstanding restored farmhouse with accurate description. Rustic with all modern needs, clean and comfortable. Nice cards placed throughout with directions and history. "Neighbor" was very friendly, even to our pup, basically ignored him (haha). Thankfully, we got to meet Scott, owner/host - great man, easy to talk to, and very friendly. I think we could have chatted for hours. Next time we're in the area, we'll defiinitely stay again. Highly recommeded as our best VRBO yet!

We had a lovely stay at this farmhouse. It was so cozy, charming and convenient for us. We loved spending time here and there was lots of space for us. Our host was very welcoming. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer.

We were in town for a huge cross country meet and needed a place for a group of boys to stay overnight. Scott's place was perfect for our group. We arrived after dark and departed before daybreak, but it was clean and comfortable with space for the group to spread out and, importantly, plenty of space to park our bus.

Such a charming house!

We were there as judges officiating a local tournament- such a cute and relaxing space for us to wind down and decompress after a long day. Everything was perfect and the house was absolutely charming!

Born and raised in Columbia, SC, I moved to Texas after Bible College to attend seminary, married, worked in youth ministries and had 3 sons…then came home to this old place! I enjoy making old things new—as owner of WolfeDen Rentals, LLC, repurposing as much of the original materials as possible or building from scratch—like the house you’ll see in the back field, which I designed and built myself with a friend and the boys. As founder of InYou Ministries, I like being a tool for remodeling hurting people’s inner lives through conferences, counsel, and writing curricula (which you may peruse in the house). Hope you’ll feel peace inside and out as you enter with those you love (spelled T-I-M-E).

Why they chose this property

I don’t love neighborhoods, but I do love my neighbors and old houses. In 1999, this one had sat empty for over a year, filled with wood rot, rats/mice, flying squirrels, and even snakes, demanding lots of TLC. On 4 acres of hayfield, it offered space to expand and in 2004-5 I built the more modern farmhouse out back (where my son and wife now live).

What makes this property unique

The bones are good—rough milled pine hold the house together on a rock foundation. Most wood accents were repurposed from the ceiling, and wood from an old covered bridge was used to finish the main floor ceiling.
