This summer rental in secluded picturesque Northport, Maine features cathedral ceilings in the livingroom area with hardwood floors throughout and picture windows with spectacular views of the rugged Maine coast and islands. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Penobscot Bay in the comfort of this fully furnished cottage, with French doors opening to to a large deck extending the length of the cottage providing breathtaking views of the entire Bay. Step out onto the upper cottage deck with your morning coffee and relax, or take the stairs which lead off this deck down to a lower deck on the private beach, which is ideal for swimming, boating, or a stroll. This heated quaint three bedroom summer haven features all the comforts of home. For cooking there is a fully equipped kitchen to enjoy with eat in dining area. Feel like cooking out, then enjoy the outdoor gas grille and enjoy your meal on the deck in its dining area.

The cottage provides TV with streaming, DVD players, Wifi, stereo, local phone service, bedding, towels, 4 kayaks & water inflatables.

The cottage is cleaned and disinfected via a 6 page cleaning checklist between renters based on the COVID19 guidelines. There is a 7 hour window between renters, however you may vary your arrival time based on your comfort level.

Perfect place on Penobscot Bay

David was an excellent host and we wanted for nothing. A beautiful cottage on the water in a quiet village in Central Maine coast. Everything was thought of and it was clean with immaculate surroundings.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ocean Cottage. Everything was perfect. The beds were comfortable, view amazing, kitchen was well supplied. We especially enjoyed watching the birds from the back deck, including loons, warblers and even an eagle. It was great having the air conditioner because we needed it at least one day. We enjoyed exploring Belfast and other nearby towns. David was a great host, we would love to stay again!

Family Getaway

The cottage was perfect for our family. It is clean, organized, and provides beautiful views of Penobscot Bay in a quiet neighborhood. Easy drive to Acadia and other places for sightseeing. David provided detailed information about the cottage and surrounding area, which we found extremely helpful, as well as excellent communication when needed. We would highly recommend the Ocean Cottage and would not hesitate to stay again.

After many years of utilizing vacation rentals this property would be very near the top of our list. The owner has thought of everything and is readily available to provide information on anything in the nearby communities such as where to dine and shop. This property was very clean and the online information is accurate. The only thing that future renters should be made aware of is that there are some stairs to get from where you must park your vehicle to get to the front door. Nothing to be concerned about for most people but if going up and/or down stairs is an issue, just be aware. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this cottage and would highly recommend it.

Beautiful view and great location!

The cottage is immaculate in its cleanliness. The setting is quiet and lovely, and the water view is beautiful. There are delicious restaurants nearby in Lincolnville, Belfast, and Camden. We were able to enjoy the kayaks, too. The cottage has everything you need for cooking in, and there are very good markets in the area.

Great waterfront rental.

Fabulous Maine oceanside cottage

The cottage was a perfect location for a maine getaway. Well appointed and clean with a large deck overlooking Penobscot bay. We could watch lobstermen checking their traps and boats on the bay. The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was quiet and beautifully landscaped. Walk to historic Bayside. Short drive north to Belfast or south to Lincolnville Beach.

A perfect week in July

This place is great. Everything went perfectly. The cottage was pristine inside and all was in great condition. Kitchen is well supplied. DVD library is extensive and well organized. Ocean view is wide and gorgeous, clearly visible from deck as well as most indoor areas. Owner is highly responsive all through process.

Perfect view and accommodations

The house had everything needed to stay a week and cook in the fully furnished kitchen. We had a wind storm and lost electricity but the generator kicked on immediately. The size is good for two people, maybe three, there is three beds but only one bathroom. Also, only one spot for one car which is just off the side of the road. It works fine for one car. The kayaks were available, but you have to carry them down several sets of stairs to the water and back to the rack to store them each time you use them, too hard for me. The TV has several streaming channels which was very nice, but it was hard to get live local channel TV for weather and news. We figured most of it, but I wish there was an icon for local TV. Location was great, very close to Belfast and all the area activities within a 10-30 minute drive. The house has two decks, one directly off the house and one down the stairs near the water which I loved. Chairs and tables all are covered and very clean. Clean, everything was clean and fresh. House rules make sense. Didn't have to ask for help, but host emailed us to make sure all was ok. Not a sandy beach, can only walk at low tide on rocks. But overall very pleasant and quiet and beautiful view.

Another wonderful stay at Ocean Cottage.

This was our second time staying at Ocean Cottage. It’s a gorgeous home, meticulously clean and organized (anything and everything from board games to extension cords, binoculars, etc). The kitchen has everything you could possibly need if you plan to cook during your stay. We drove to Deer Isle and Sand Beach in Stonington. We highly recommend Sand Beach! Ocean Cottage is a special place and we can’t wait to return.

Wonderful week here...

This is one of the best kept, well organized rental properties that we have ever stayed at in our years of travel. Everything is organized and documented and the kitchen is fully stocked with all the little things that you need when traveling but forget at the grocery store (spices, cooking oil, aluminum foil, etc.) David has thought out every detail. The cabin itself was immaculate and comfortable and the view is spectacular! Great location for exploring the mid-coast area. I would return and do not hesitate to recommend this cabin to others.

Great location

It was a private getaway with plenty to do. Acadia is an hour away. Also, state parks abound in the area. Restaurants are good in North Port. If you enjoy shopping, the nearby small towns are fun, too. Light houses are enjoyable too.

Great Location!

This was the perfect location for us. We wanted to experience as much of Maine as we could in one week. Belfast is centrally located which makes going to Acadia or Portland less than 2 hours either way. Plus many more towns to see in 30 minutes.

Fantastic cottage! Fantastic view! Fantastic amenities!

My only hesitation with leaving this positive review, is that it might cause more competition, if we should want to rent again in the future. Beautiful cottage, beautiful view, and we were also blessed with a beautiful week of October weather. They thought of everything we could have possibly thought to have needed in a rental, and quite possibly a few things we didn't think of. We brought our own kayaks up with us, but to our surprise there was a whole fleet of kayaks, along with the gear needed, neatly stored on the back deck, in case we would have needed it. Speaking of the deck. Wonderfully designed, and it literally goes right down to the water. You can step right into the water during high tide, or just sit and read and watch the lobster boats, eagles, seals, cormorants, loons and other wildlife just glide by you. Also, tons of kitchen and other amenities neatly arranged (and Covid proofed), throughout the cottage. If you had a question about anything, there was likely a neat little note already attached, to make your vacation just a little bit easier. Thanks for making this place available, and hopefully we'll be up again in the near future.

Maine Ocean Cottage

The cottage was super clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and everything worked well. We basically used the cottage for a base as we spent a good share of our time traveling around the area for sightseeing and other activities. We did very little cooking in the cottage, but the kitchen was well equipped and everything appeared to be clean and in excellent condition. All in all, this is a great property; and we would certainly recommend it to anyone.
