About the host

We are lovers of people, travel and adventure. Although we’ve lived abroad and are passionate about exploring the world, we feel there is no better place to call home than California's beautiful Central Coast. With the abundance of local activities, you are likely to spot us out hiking, kayaking, at a yoga class, music event or wine tasting in Edna Valley, Paso Robles, or Santa Ynez. We also enjoy history and exploring archaeological sites, road trips in our trailer, or river rafting. We live on the estate in the main house, and find great joy in sharing our special haven, tucked back on 3 acres that Frank lovingly tends to.
We are here to help make sure your stay in the San Luis Obispo area is relaxing, memorable and eventful. As our special guests, we will share our tips and secrets so you can live like locals, and if you have a question about the area we can point you in the right direction ensuring the best possible experiences.
5 things we love most when we travel are a clean dwelling, comfy bed, luxurious linens, good coffee, and a helpful host...we're betting that you do too! We look forward to having you as our guest!

Why they chose this property
Hacienda Felise is so much more than just a place to stay - we offer a memorable elevated experience! Your relaxing stay at the hacienda includes three beautifully appointed, eco-chic dwellings, all inspired by our memorable travel adventures. Each dwelling sleeps 2 and is discretely situated around a large, Spanish-style guest courtyard, which makes for maximum privacy for everyone.
A stay at Hacienda Felise is an adult-only experience, well suited for solo travelers, romantic couple’s escape, girl's getaway, nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, work remote situations, or small groups up to 6 adults seeking an inspirational retreat.
On the grounds, stroll the zen garden designed with an 'infinity walk’, see unique cactus and succulents, and be sure to spend some time in the outdoor, live bamboo oxygen room, which is perfect for yoga and meditation. At the top of the gardens there's a gazebo - an ideal spot for morning coffee, a picnic lunch, or catching the sunset. Guests can take in some R&R, unwind with a good book and enjoy the sounds of nature, wind chimes and water fountains or rally for a lively game of bocce ball. Have binoculars handy for wildlife sightings of deer, coyotes, raccoons, possums, owls, hawks, and more.
Don’t be fooled by our semi-rural location - Highway 101, Trader Joe’s, shopping, and dining are within 5 minutes of the hacienda. Nearby, discover the trail of farm stands, farmers markets, historic Village of Arroyo Grande, and Avila Valley Barn to find special locally crafted jams, pies, treats and gifts to take home. Surrounded by both coastal and vineyard wedding venues, the hacienda is centrally located so out-of-town guests can do some of their own exploring in between the festivities. While we are on the Edna Valley/ AG wine trail for some of the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the state, wine lovers can have the ultimate adventure visiting the various wine trails from Paso Robles down to Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara.

What makes this property unique
SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL: We think it’s important to do what we can to minimize the environmental impacts of tourism. We've tried to be as eco-friendly as possible, both with design and lifestyle, so you will notice shaded terraces and decks that keep the hacienda cool, solar energy, bamboo flooring in kitchen and living room, etc.
Here’s some other ways we are striving to lighten our footprint and those of our guests:
**Increased our solar panels and now produce about 95% of the energy needed to run our property.
**Water conservation with drought resistant, low-water landscape
**You will find delicious dark roast coffee waiting for you that comes in plant-based, PLASTIC-FREE coffee pods that are compostable.
**Filtered drinking water is available in each unit, so NO Plastic water bottles need to be used during your stay.
**Refillable amenity dispensers to reduce use of plastic bottles
**Wool Dryer Balls: reduce drying time and save energy, plus are eco-friendly, reusable, and hypoallergenic.
*Remember - California is in a drought, so please help us to minimize water use.
TESLA - ELECTRIC VEHICLES: We have an EV charging station, and happy Tesla guests say they get 5 miles per charging hour (Additional fee of $15 p/day to use charging station.
*Please let us know you need the EV station at the time of booking.
