Completely renovated top to bottom in 2022-23, our unique and art filled cottage is less than one block from a very quiet Bay beach.

- Watch the sunset each night at the beach at the end of the block.
- Luxuries: West Elm sectional, Frame TV, soaking tub.
- Large outdoor deck & fenced in yard.
- Maker space with art materials to help you get creative! Yoga mats, blocks and meditation cushion provided.
-Gourmet coffee & tea bar in a light filled and airy fully stocked kitchen.
-Easy back and forth walk to the beach for parents with young kids.
- Books in built-in bookshelves, vintage finds, games, record player, kids' toys.
- Washer/dryer.
Now for the finer details:
You’ll be less than a block to the sand, where you often have the beach completely to yourself. The Bay beckons you with early morning beach walks, incredible sunset views and exceptional bird and sea life. The tide pools are a delight for small kids.
The newly and beautifully renovated Sole Cottage is the perfect spot for 3-4 friends, a small family or a couple who are seeking a quiet, tranquil, art-filled, unique Jersey shore experience. This 800 square foot space holds three small bedrooms and an open flow living room and kitchen.
The sun filled main living space has a new oversized West Elm sectional, a new 55” “The Frame” Ultra HD 4K flatscreen smart TV, and a warming electric fireplace. A small built-in "mudroom" nook holds a handcrafted bench, shelf and hooks to ensure you can drop and go or pick-up and go as needed. Vintage records, a record player and assorted instruments set you up for the daily music session.
Relax on the expansive back deck - which spans the entire length of the house - with its comfy lounge furniture and large table, grilling up your catch of the day on the gas grill. Take a nap in the hammock. Go to the beach and come back to take a hot (or cold!) shower gazing up at the trees in our handmade outdoor shower.
The entire space is designed for play and relaxation with puzzles, games, curated books and yoga and meditation amenities. A special “maker space” (the third bedroom) holds art materials for your use. Write a postcard, paint, draw, color or take time for journaling. A kayak lets you explore the Bay.
The fully-stocked, eat-in kitchen has everything you need to cook a big meal together and relax. Start your morning at the built-in coffee and tea nook with its Ninja, French press, electric kettle and assorted teas and coffee. The gas stove with griddle, French door refrigerator with ice maker, and dishwasher make cooking easeful. Cookbooks, cookware, tools, spices, cocktail amenities and microwave, blender, crockpot, mixer and toaster round out the offerings.
The quaint spa-like bathroom has a soaking tub and rain shower. Beautiful details abound - a turn-of-the-century antique door, handmade tile and a marble top vanity. Toiletry essentials are provided, including locally Cape May made Shore Soaps. Just outside the bathroom is a washer and dryer.
Sole Cottage has three small bedrooms with vintage touches and adorned with artwork by small and local artists:
The main bedroom, filled with natural light, holds a queen bed, organic mattress and hypoallergenic down-alternative pillows. An antique writing desk and closet give you the space to settle and connect in.
The second bedroom has a full bed tucked into a lovely little nook with books and art. It offers an organic memory foam mattress and hypoallergenic down-alternative pillows. A small nook holds a dresser and hooks.
The third and smallest bedroom we call the Maker Space. Custom stained glass above the door, a unique curved wall, a vintage writing desk and numerous art supplies make this room so unique. There is a twin daybed with storage underneath in beautiful rattan containers, and hooks as well.
Free and fast WiFi is available throughout the cottage, as is Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+. The outside of this house does have surveillance at the front door only, through an Arlo camera.
Please note that our cottage is less than a block to the Bay, not the ocean. The ocean is 15 minutes away. The Bay has dramatic tidal shifts, and at low tide the water goes out far. This makes for fun tide pools for kids but not the best swimming for teens or adults.

Hosted by Stacey Fay

Hi, good to meet you! We are Stacey and Dan, owners of Sole Cottage. We are both New Jersey natives. With the ocean in our backyard we have always been drawn to the water for our vacations. We feel there is nothing quite like the ocean to center yourself and recharge.
Dan is an engineer, Stacey is an artist, and we are parents to two little humans. Together as a family we have a passion for art and nature which is woven into every aspect of the cottage. From local artists' work and naturalist books adoring the space, to the music, yoga and meditation materials for your use, we have curated so many treasures to help you unplug, unwind and connect back in to yourself, one another and the natural world surrounding you.
We also take environmental preservation seriously - Stacey worked for an environmental nonprofit for over a decade. So every decision made about Sole Cottage was done as sustainably as possible. You'll find many antique, vintage and reclaimed touches, as well as water and energy conservation features in the space. We wanted every decision we made about the Cottage to help protect the natural world we love so much. See our renovation journey on social media: @SoleCottage
The entire Cape May area is filled to the brim with amazing things to do, and you get to come home to the beauty and tranquility that the Bay and Villas offer. We can't wait to share Sole Cottage with you.

Why they chose this property
We have visited countless Jersey shore towns over the years, so when we discovered Villas we couldn't believe the quiet beaches, amazing natural wonders (migratory birds! horseshoe crabs! monarchs!) and the ability to have an entire little house to yourself that is walkable to the sand. Our two children also love to splash in the tide pools and walk out far into the water at low tide, something that is so special to the Bay. The sunsets are spectacular, with Villas known as the "home of the best sunsets." We knew we needed to find our own little slice of heaven here, and create a unique rental experience you won't find anywhere else.
What makes this property unique
When we bought our home it needed so much TLC, but its bones were good, the natural light was plentiful, and you could feel the peaceful energy from the decades of use by the previous owners. We took nearly a year and a half to gut and renovate the entire space, making it into our dream vacation home. An open layout living room and kitchen with built-in coffee and tea nook and curved walls make it feel so relaxing and inviting. We added windows all throughout to maximize natural light, and it pours into every room. We added the most unique of touches to give this place so much character - a custom stained glass piece over the door to the third bedroom, built-in bookshelves and nook above the second bedroom bed, curved walls everywhere, gorgeous antique door to the bathroom, and vintage and antique touches. The bathroom has a soaking tub and rain shower, musts for a vacation. The beautiful Bay is less than a block away, so easy to walk to and see the sunset every night.
