I have been coming to Cape May Point for 5 years now. This was my first stay in this apt. It was updated with new wallpaper and it was clean. Aircondioners in each area worked very well for it was hot that week. Kitchen was ok for cooking. Tub was neat but I wouldn't have minded a shower fixture and curtain to keep water from getting on the floor. outside shower needs a facelift. I'd stay there again.
The apartment is clean but very dated. It is in a great location, close to the beach and both the owners and property managers are very responsive. There are 3 window air conditioners and the one in the bedroom was not working during our visit. The property manager came promptly to look at it but couldn’t fix it so we had to drag the mattress from the bedroom to the living/ sitting room because it got quite hot at night. As advertised there is no indoor shower, just an outside shower which was fine for the most part but couldn’t be used in bad weather. All in all the stay was fine, but just be sure you are ok with these quirks!

Great location
Appreciate the. Quaintness of the Victorian house, but definitely needs an upgrade, removal of old wallpaper and fresh coat of paint all over would do wonders….also would have liked option of indoor shower.
This rental is in a great location, with beach access being a short walk down the street. It’s also a very private beach with very few other beach goers during our trip. An added benefit is that you can watch the sunset from this beach without having to fight the crowds at sunset beach. The rental itself is as described in other reviews. It is perfect if you plan to spend most of your time at the beach or doing other activities. The owner was very responsive to the few questions that I had prior to our trip. We enjoyed our stay, especially the location.
Location, owner and local manager great, but a number of issues needed attention beyond what could be accomplished while we were there. We were reimbursed for our troubles in acquiring supplies that should have been there.

Great location...but def BYOpillows!!!
The location was tops. And to be fair, I booked late in the season and this was the literally the last option for the week we wanted.
That said, the house is in desperate need of some simple updates inside. A fresh coat of paint and a couple new pieces of furniture would go a long way. My family and I grew to embrace the rustic beach cabin vibe eventually, but when we first landed in the house, in the middle of a pandemic, we were greeted by yellowed pillows ragged bed coverings. It’s the simple things like buying a new dish rack (the one that is there is super old and funky) that would go a long way to avoid our initial gasps.
PS. The only shower in the house is the outdoor shower downstairs. Again, we came to embrace this but if you don’t want rustic look elsewhere.
If you don’t mind chipping wallpaper and cracked plaster and want a quaint little 50’s beach apartment in an unparalleled location, this is the spot for you.
The proximity to the beach was excellent as well as the beach. We all enjoyed the outdoor shower hearing birds and getting a breeze. We really liked it so much better than staying in main Cape May. Very private and quiet. The shoreline has a beautiful landscape. The bathroom is updated nicely and overall we enjoyed our stay. It could use some modest updates/repair of ceiling and wallpaper in some rooms realizing it's an old victorian and probably has plaster.

Great Get Away
Cape may Point is one of the last beach communities without commercialism. There are three businesses; Audubon Society Store, Red Store Cafe and the man that sells ice cream on the beach. There was nothing else we needed except our bikes. The apartment had the comfort and ambiance of my grandmother's home. Outdoor shower, windows and doors with screens allowed you to remember that you're at the beach.

Lovely CMP Apartment
Quaint, modest, and exactly as advertised. The cleanest place I ever ever stayed in. Short walk to the beach, and very close to the State Park. Comfy bed. Kitchen very well equipped. Reliable wi-fi. Wonderful place. Would like to go back for a month next time.

Paradise
We have kept going back to PenPoint from time to time for the last 20 years. There were many improvements made since our previous stay, which made our stay even more agreeable. We love the small walk to the beach to watch the sun set.

Week at the beach
The top floor apartment was nice, and very close to the beach, about 50 yards from the beach entrance.
The town of CMP is very quiet compared to Cape May.
Response from VrboOwner on 27 Mar 2020
We're adding photos of the beach entrance at end of Cape Ave. so future renters can see how close Penn Point is to the ocean.
Our family is only the fourth owner of our 140 year old Painted Lady. We pride ourselves in keeping this Victorian Gothic summer cottage true to her classic self.
Why they chose this property
We enjoy the seaside pleasures of walking to a beautiful guarded beach, seeing the lighthouse, enjoying the water, & watching the dolphins frolic. Fresh seafood is nearby in Cape May and so are many fresh fruit and vegetable stands. Culture and entertainment are two miles down Sunset Blvd. in Cape May. Atlantic City casinos are about 40 minutes north.
What makes this property unique
We enjoy the peacefulness of the Point compared to Cape May. Walking on the quiet beaches at sunset, biking or relaxing with a good book on the porch and enjoying the bounty of seafood and fresh produce makes for an rejuvenating experience.
