Built in the 1850s and substantially expanded in the early 20th century, this historic, fully renovated, nine-bedroom, five-bath farmhouse—with high-speed fiber-optic internet, multiple porches and expansive lawns—offers an extraordinary
getaway in beautiful East Craftsbury, VT. The home has seven queen-size bedrooms and two twins: one bedroom and 1.5 bath on the first floor and eight bedrooms / 4 baths on the second. The farmhouse has 3 sets of stairs (front, middle and back), as well as a laundry room, mud room, three living rooms (currently furnished as a traditional front parlor, music/TV room and den), and a dining room. The large kitchen is a cook’s dream, with a center island, gas stove and original cast-iron wood stove, and is fully furnished with all manner of cookware, dishware, cutlery and utensils. The house will comfortably sleep 16.This extraordinary property is ideally suited both for guests who love the outdoors (XC ski or mountain bike at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, ski at nearby Stowe, Jay or Burke ski areas, swim at many area lakes, bike or hike along endless unpaved roads) and those who prefer to relax on the porches and enjoy the slow pace of country life (with escapes to local breweries, farmers’ markets, concerts and other cultural offerings). There is plenty to do and enjoy in the Craftsbury area!.
