House was not clean at checkin, we had a difficult time finding a phone number to call for help. We found 2 numbers, left 2 messages, but didn't feel comfortable since no one answered and no vm recording. Someone called back and asked us to wait several hours for the crew to come clean. We sat in a bar/restaurant until after 7pm, it was quite cold, dark when we got in. The heat had been turned all the way off and it took us a long time to figure out how to program 3 remotes on various walls reading icon guidelines to see what picture was heat and what picture was AC. It was super frustrating! Took hours to warm up, went to bed cold. VRBO has too many layers of people before finding someone responsible. An email is not acceptable in this instance. To find the phone number we had to get into the house, scan a QR code, read 7 pages of welcome letter on my phone, in the cold, after a long travel day, then click on a link to leave a message with some local unknown management company. Finally, I had to chase the refund, the communication with this company was awful/unacceptable. Their anonymity is worrisome. VRBO lacks consumer protection, buyer beware for sure!
