Premier location in Historic Downtown! Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This apartment is a glimpse into history. These are original boarding rooms from the original railroad boarding house is 1906. It’s been newly renovated with modern amenities, but we kept the old charm. This space is great for 1-2 guests. True to size in 1906. Large windows and lots of sunlight with a partial view of the bay! Full kitchen, small sitting area and full private bathroom with large closet Location is the key! Heart of downtown, but on a quiet street, you are walking distance to almost everything! This charming, but small, apartment is 1 block from Resurrection Bay, the Sea Life Center and 1 street over from downtown shops and restaurants. “Bayview” is exactly that, a view of Resurrection Bay. This rental has been renovated, but we kept some of the historic charm. The size is approximately the same as a standard hotel room, but we provided a lot more amenities and a LOT more affordable. There’s a queen bed in bedroom, a full bath with walk-in shower, seating by the windows and pub table in front room. A new full, but tiny, kitchen with awesome views. Blinds and blackout curtains to help you get a restful nights sleep. This apartment is in a building housing 7 units, so quiet hours are a must. Tv is streaming with free WIFI boasting highest speed available with unlimited data. Outside area has gazebo seating, sunny seating and outdoor table. Charcoal grill provided. One of Sewards oldest buildings and originally a boarding house from the old railroad days, come stay and be part of Sewards history. Speaking of history, we are right behind the museum/library. Parking is on the street and in back of the building.

We had a great time during our stay! The place was perfect for my husband and me and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was perfect - a short walk to the water and to downtown. Shelly was an incredibly responsive host and so helpful!
The Vrbo was as expected and located in an ideal spot in Seward. The host provided timely and accurate communication and responded quickly to any questions we had. Would certainly stay here again if returning to Seward

This place had so much charm! It was our first trip to Alaska and we will definitely be back! The place was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The coffee in the morning was nice and the fans were a great noise barrier since we were downtown. The curtains were a nice touch to block out the light so we could sleep. The host was very responsive and check in was super easy. We loved this rental!
The location was great, right down town and easy to walk to dinner, the pier and the sea life center. The door code was hard to operate to get in, and the room is very small. Perfect for us for our 1 night get away.
Highly recommended small apartment unit located in the quiet area of southern Seward. Walking distance from a handful of restaurants, the public park and the waterfront. Clean unit and has all the amenities anyone would need.
We enjoyed this quaint, historic 1 bedroom in downtown Seward; perfect location for walking the town and not far at all for some great sights and hikes. We had one issue getting into the apartment; wrong code. Had to wait an hour to get a call back from the owner, but she was working. She came over right away and was very nice and helpful. I would suggest getting a different chair in the living room other than the white one as that was not comfortable at all. We would have preferred the TV be in the living area as opposed to the bedroom. Other than that, everything was clean, great and wonderful location and quiet! If you like Thai, try Woody's. It was wonderful. Resurrect Coffee House also, A.
Matt and I re both from the Midwest - MN and IA. We met in Denver and moved to Alaska in 2002. We absolutely love the outdoors and traveling and being hosts, mostly to share stories and adventures. When we get a chance to talk with our guests, it renews our love for our home and community. We are so blessed. We want to share this blessing with everyone.
Why they chose this property
I love being 1 block from the water and in the heart of downtown. We walk the path along the harbor daily, no mater the weather. it is one of the oldest buildings in Seward and we loved the history and the possibilities to bring it back to life. We have worked hard to provide a nice clean quaint and quiet place to stay. We have local residents in the building who you may run into out and about. Some are born and raised in Seward!!
What makes this property unique
This property is very unique. It is one of Seward's oldest buildings build in either 1905 or 1906. It was a boarding house to the railroad workers in the early 1900's. It survived the 1964 earthquake tsunami. In 2017, we bought this run down virtually empty building and spent every weekend for 6 years coming down from Anchorage and renovating the entire place. Just mu husband and I. We have finally moved to Seward and love this amazing community. We hope you love what we have done to restore history.
