The space
Welcome to Pudding Hill, your private retreat in the heart of nature. Our custom-designed A-Frame cabin offers a blend of luxury and rustic charm, perfect for couples, families, and friends.

Winter Access:

During winter, the driveway may be compacted with snow and ice. We highly recommend using a 4WD/AWD vehicle equipped with all-season or winter tires for safe access. In the event of heavy snowfall, you may need to park at the foot of the driveway and walk uphill. Please be aware that snowy conditions can create challenges beyond our control, and guests are responsible for planning accordingly to ensure a safe and comfortable arrival. By booking, you acknowledge and accept this disclaimer.

Key Features:

Cedar Wood-Burning Hot Tub: Experience luxury with our cedar hot tub, nestled among whispering trees. Engage your inner woodsman as you stoke the flames and enjoy the rich, aromatic scent of cedar.

Spacious and Airy Layout: Despite its compact size, the cabin boasts an open layout with vaulted ceilings, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.

Outdoor Living: Relax on two decks, dine at the picnic table, or unwind in the hammock. The backyard features a smokeless solo stove fire pit, cornhole, lawn darts, yard jenga, and the wood-burning hot tub.

Comfortable Bedrooms: The master bedroom has a king-size fiberglass-free memory foam mattress, a small dresser, and sliding glass doors opening to a private deck with forest views.

The loft area offers a queen-size fiberglass-free memory foam mattress, skylights, and a cozy corner for meditation and reading.

Modern Amenities: Enjoy a full bathroom with essential toiletries, a fully equipped kitchen with all necessary appliances, and a dining area that doubles as a workstation. The kitchen includes a 24" electric stove and oven, full-size fridge, mini waffle maker, toaster, microwave, blender, kettle, coffee grinder, and three coffee-making options: Keurig, pour-over, and French press. We've stocked the kitchen with an array of pots, pans, and eating utensils for both adults and children.

Nearby Attractions:

Hiking Trails: Explore Mount Utsayantha, Mine Kill State Park (with a public pool, waterfalls, and more), Catskills Scenic Trail, and Vroman's Nose Trails, all within a 30-minute drive.

Local Dining: Just 5 minutes away, savor local favorites like Mama Maria's Ristorante, Mill Pond Inn, Tavern 1897, and Heartbreak Hotel. Downtown Stamford, 8 minutes away, offers cozy coffee shops and restaurants like Stamford Coffee, TP's Café, and Mac-A-Doodles. Enjoy local bars like Belvedere Inn and John's Tavern.

1G fiber optic Wi-Fi internet access is provided, as well as a large screen Roku smart TV with access to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and more. Alexa is also available in the entertainment console.

Other things to note
The cabin sits on 5 acres of forested sloped grounds frequented by all forms of wildlife, including but not limited to raccoons, fox, deer, etc. Please avoid leaving food in your car and garbage around the property grounds.

The premise is equipped with two Blink floodlight cameras. One on the front deck facing the drive up to the cabin, and the other on the back deck facing the backwoods of the property. Cameras are used for security purposes when unoccupied, and for monitoring wildlife activity.

Firewood:

We always strive to maintain a healthy reserve of complimentary firewood at the property while balancing sustainability. We recommend bringing fire starters and paper to ensure you’re well-prepared to start a fire. If firewood is running low at the property, small bundles of wood and kindling can be purchased at the local Stewarts & Sunoco gas stations or the Tops supermarket in town. Additionally, you may find locals who sell bundles by the 'honor' system right off their property.

Pets:

*Pudding Hill is a dog-friendly cabin. All pets must be announced prior to the stay and the $100 fee per dog must be paid prior to the arrival. A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed. Due to allergies, cats and other animals are not permitted. All pets must be kept on property as neighbors dogs tend to patrol the private roads near their home. Any dangerous behavior on behalf of the pets towards our neighbors or their dogs can lead to a cancellation of the remainder of your stay without a refund.

*Please clean up after your pet both inside and outside of the cabin, including their paws upon entry of the cabin (ALL dog waste NEEDS to be picked up). Failure to do so will result in a $150 fine that will be strictly enforced. Never leave your pet(s) unattended at the cabin, or around the property. You are financially responsible for any damage done by your pet(s).

Beautiful Location

We all enjoyed a wonderful stay at 'the triangle house' as our kids called it. The house is quaint, great décor and the kids loved sleeping upstairs with the view. We enjoyed the fire pit and the surrounding grounds. Would certainly recommend staying here.

A great stay in a convenient location. The cabin had everything we needed for our family stay, along with items for kids and dogs. We loved the wood stove and record player in the main living space. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. Great communication from Lenny the host. Hope to stay again!

A frame stay

The A frame rental was a great accommodation for our wedding weekend. The location is far enough away, but close enough for town travel. The house was very clean and modern. We all really enjoyed the stay!

Our “Home Plate” for our Hall of Fame Weekend

We chose to stay at Pudding Hill for our trip to The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown (about 50 minutes away). This made for the perfect place to come back to and crash in between trips to Cooperstown. We even made a an impromptu super-long day trip to Niagara Falls. Private and secluded, it was truly a pleasure to be out in the woods and be able to unwind so completely. The cabin is cozy and super well appointed. We couldn’t have asked for a better host or a better stay! Mama Maria’s Restaurant (5 minutes away) was absolutely delicious!

A Prefect Quiet Getaway

My husband and I were looking for a quiet and cozy location for our mini-moon and our stay at Pudding Hill exceeded every expectation! The cabin was so cute and spotless; from the décor to amenities, you can tell how much attention to detail was put into the space. Even our pup had a great time running around the spacious property! There isn't a ton to do in the immediate area (restaurants or indoor activities) but we didn't mind at all. The cabin was so cozy that we never wanted to leave anyway! Hunter/ Tannersville is close enough if you want to stroll through a bigger town. Locally, we did enjoy Stamford Coffee for breakfast and Mac-a-Doodles & Mamma Marias for casual dining. The host, Lenny, was great too. He was extremely responsive and helpful. 5 stars all around!!!!

Beautiful cottage, but major safety and maintenance issuesWhile the interior of this cottage is lovely, our experience was unfortunately defined by significant safety concerns and poor maintenance. The primary issue is the driveway/hill. Despite driving a Toyota RAV4 Woodland Edition with trail tires, the hill was completely impassable due to ice. We slid down several times—even after a plow had passed—and nearly ended up in a ditch. Even the cleaning crew’s truck couldn't make it up. We were forced to park at the bottom and haul all of our heavy luggage up the slippery incline on foot, which was dangerous and exhausting. We felt "trapped" and didn't leave the property for the rest of the weekend out of fear of the road.Furthermore, the amenities were disappointing:* Hot Tub: Advertised prominently, but it is wood-fired. I spent 4–6 hours cutting wood and tending the fire, but the water temperature never rose a single degree.* Outdoor Space: The Solo Stove and chairs were buried in snow and unusable, and the overhead string lights were not * Firewood: Most of the wood provided was wet and stored outside, making it nearly impossible to keep a fire going inside.* Cleanliness: While the decor is nice, we arrived to dirty dishes. It’s frustrating to find dirty kitchenware when the house rules expect guests to do the cleaning upon departure. It is a beautiful location, but until the host addresses the winter accessibility and provides functional

A father of two with a passion for food, travel, nature, and hospitality.

Hoping to share the magic of these rolling hills called the Catskill Mountains, by building tiny experiences in its wondrous woods.

Why they chose this property

I always dreamed of owning a piece of property in the Catskills. When presented with the opportunity to buy this piece of land, I immediately knew what I wanted to build on it. Just as quickly as I knew, I did everything I can to make it happen.

What makes this property unique

This property sits at the very end of the road, providing privacy and tranquility as there is no through traffic that will pass by the house.
