SUMMARY
Welcome to Lago House. This contemporary home sleeps up to ten and has five bedrooms, including one master en-suite, three full and one-half bathrooms, all with a complete complement of linens. The kitchen comfortably accommodates the home chef with enough cooks tools, dinnerware, and flatware to service your family.
Lago House is comfortably decorated featuring a bluestone wood burning fireplace, multiple sofas, chairs, and a pine farmhouse dining table that seats ten adults. The media and game room features lake views, tv, books, and board games. The outdoor four-person hot tub is located on the lower deck, protected from the rain, and has lake views.
Lago House is situated on picturesque Titus Lake, a 90-acre freshwater lake in the Catskill Mountains. At 2,000 feet above sea level, the crisp mountain air is refreshing. The two-acre property is half wooded ensuring that feeling of escape. The bi-level deck affords wonderful views of the lake, outside dining, sunbathing, and a sheltered four-person hot tub. The 210 feet of frontage offers a beach, walkout lake access, and a dock to launch a boat (2-rowboats provided), or to take a dip. The fire pit is located close to the lake, perfect for a sunset bonfire or an evening marshmallow roast.
Local activities include horseback riding, hiking, fishing, golf, and a mountain top driving range. A movie theater and shopping mall are a 30-minute drive away. Shop for groceries locally, where farm stands abound or bring your own and enjoy a relaxing and peaceful stay.
Lago House is available for rent by the weekend, week, month, or season. It is a three-hour drive from New York City, three and one-half hours from Boston, and one hour from Albany. Treat yourself, your family, and friends to some time at the lake. Pets are considered. Inquiries via email are preferred.
Lago House Description Detail
Lago House is a 3,100 sq. ft. four-season home featuring five bedrooms and three and one-half bathrooms. The master en-suite (one queen bed) is on the upper level and faces the lake. There are two additional bedrooms on the first floor (two twin beds in each). There is a full bathroom on this level as well as a half bathroom off the kitchen. It is an open floor plan with the kitchen, dining, and living rooms open to each other.
There is also a deck on this level with a view of the lake and a propane grill. The living room has a bluestone-faced fireplace (firewood provided) and a wall-mounted 42” flat panel television with a DVD player.
The house is set into a hill and the rear of the lower level is below grade. The other three sides are open to the yard. The front of the lower level faces the lakeside of the house and is open. It has another deck where you'll find our hot tub.
Inside you'll find another master bedroom (one queen bed), the fifth bedroom (two twin beds), and a full bathroom. The family room with the second 42” flat panel television and DVD player is on this level as well as our laundry room. Both TVs in the house have cable programming with HBO and Showtime. The network stations (ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC) are from New York City.
Local Weather
Given our mid-Catskill region location, we get the benefit of pretty mild temperatures during the summer months (80s during the day and high 60s / low 70s at night), which is why we do not have air conditioning. We do have multiple ceiling fans and plenty of windows.
During the winter months, we get great snowfall. The house is within a 1-hour drive to three premier Catskill Ski Resorts:
(i) Hunter Mountain
(ii) Windham Mountain
(iii) Plattekill Mountain
You simply won't find better value for the space and location!

About the host
Hosted by Troy Washington

We are a family of five and live and work in New York City. Our three children are in grade school and love spending time at Lago House. We use the house quite a bit and some of the blocked-out dates are times we will be using the house.
Our favorite activities are swimming and fishing on the lake (the kids love looking for worms and night-crawlers to use as bait), taking day trips to Cooperstown, NY and skiing at three area ski resorts (Plattekill, Hunter, and Windham). There are a number of nature trails nearby as well.

Why they chose this property
Our home is located on a two-acre lot that feels and looks like a park. Most of our lawn is flat and there is a gentle slope from the lawn into the lake. Having 210’ of walk-out lake access is very unique. The water is very shallow for a good 10’-12’ from shore, which is ideal if you are traveling with children. Additionally, the lake is private with no public access. There are just 10 homes on the lake and it feels very secluded. The surrounding area is rural and is mostly working farmland.
Spring brings the start of hiking season and great fishing. The summer months time spent on the lake are wonderful. Swimming, fishing and having a picnic lakeside during the day or bonfire in evening and watching the stars at night all make for very special memories. Day trips to go golfing, hiking, fly fishing in local streams and checking out the Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown, either before or after a visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame are other ways to fill your time away.
During the Fall the “Leaf Peeping” is at a peak, it's just sweater weather and the fish are still biting, and, besides, you get to take advantage of all of the farm stands before they close! During the winter, snowfall transforms our property into a wonderland. The two-acre property is great for sleds and we try to take full advantage of our location and visit Plattekill, Windham or Hunter Mountain.
