Rome got built! We finally finished the gigantic project of knocking the condo down to concrete slab and studs, and completely rebuilding and upgrading the unit to our 5 star resort standards. The condo building is flanked by the Mexican Gulf and the Intercoastal waterway. You will enjoy a sweeping view of the beach and the Gulf, above all adjacent buildings; spectacular sunrise and sunset on the 8th floor spacious wrap-around balcony.
Or you can enjoy the view right from the comfort of your bed or sofa as both the Master and Family Room face the balcony through 8 foot-wide floor to ceiling glass sliders. The other rooms also offer amazing views of the beach and the water. The white sandy beach is your private backyard, graced by herons and pelicans – perfect for jogging, walking or building a sandcastle. At night, you can count the stars and sleep to the soothing sound of gentle waves.
Besides the stunning natural beauty, the inside will be exquisite and full-featured. We are perfectionists who love to travel and stay at great resorts – our singular goal is to make the unit a vacation home where we would enjoy staying. You will be delighted!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The reservation system over the phone was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful.Unit 801 at Sand Castles I was very clean and well stocked. We read that the owner had renovated in 2009 which made it look great. There were a couple minor issues on arrival but the maintenance man came promptly to fix them. The unit could use some touch up on the doors and moldings, they are showing signs of wear after 15 years. The dishwasher door opens beyond horizontal making it necessary to grab the lower tray so it doesn’t slide off.The kitchen could use a few pieces of mircowave cookware.The location is convenient and very quiet. We enjoyed the beach and the pool. The new sand mounds on the beach made it challenging for two older folks but we understand the reason.As with almost every complex we have stayed at the pool area does not have enough seating. This is mostly due to families “reserving” chairs as soon as the sun comes up. The signs say not to do that but it’s done anyway. Unfortunately there is no one there to police that. It is what it is.The issues we mentioned would not prevent us from returning.

Needs updating

First impression upon arrival - door needs a paint job, update. It is rusty and lots of dents. Not a great welcoming look! Most of the woodwork and walls need a fresh coat of paint. Master shower needs BIG update. Also, mold on grout and by the shower door. Huge bug on the wall in master bedroom- wish I could submit a picture!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We just returned from our two week vacation from 8/12 - 8/26. This was our third time staying in 801. The condo is perfect for our family of 5 (kids are teenagers.) The condo is beautiful and clean and the balcony gives the best views of the beach and the bay since it is a wrap around balcony. We spend so much time sitting out there enjoying the breeze and watching the sunsets. You can't beat the views from this condo! There are always beach accessories left behind to use from previous guests and we always leave ours behind for the next guests as well. Every visit we always see dolphins from the balcony or manatees. During this stay while we were in the Gulf of Mexico there were two manatees swimming by us about 5 feet away. They hung out around us for a while!There really isn't anything bad to say about the condo other than I think the master bed needs replaced. It is the same one since our first visit several years ago and just not as comfortable to me anymore. I'm also picky with mattresses so this is just me nitpicking. Besides that I have no complaints.There are some restaurants in walking distance and a beach trolley outside the building that you can take to different areas including Clearwater.You won't regret staying here and won't want to leave! The perfect area and condo to make everlasting memories and we cannot wait to come back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view was just what I had hoped for. The condo was very nice and had more than enough of the amenities that we needed. The location was close enough to everything to keep us entertained for the whole week, but I think we could’ve just stayed out for seven days and been perfectly content. My girlfriend was already planning our return after the first night!

Perfect Indian Shores

Sand Castle 1 meets all our needs, gorgeous ocean front, ample shopping and restaurants in area, near by boating excursions we enjoyed, provides all needed for a lovely family vacation .
