Wonderful Stay in Highlands

The property is exquisitely decorated, warm, inviting and spacious. The property has two spacious bedrooms and a loft bedroom and comfortably sleeps six adults. The great room and dining room area are wonderful, and the home has a large fireplace and an awesome fire pit area outside with plenty of seating. The location is a 5-minute drive from downtown Highlands. I would stay at this property any time I am in the area. It is perfect.

The Gem of Highlands!

We wish we could give more than five stars! This cottage is the hidden gem of Highlands. We love that it's perfectly located on the Cashiers side of Highlands in a secluded area off Hwy 64, since we love visiting Cashiers as much as we love visiting Highlands. And how convenient that a grocery store is within a short (scenic) walking distance, so we're able to easily obtain forgotten necessities on our morning walks. The hummingbirds entertained us as we enjoyed dinner on the shaded back deck (with a creek view). The huge antique table in the center of the cabin and the ample supply of games easily accommodated our fun family game nights. We love that every bedroom has a private full bathroom and super comfy bedding. And the decor is wow! The upscale decor is very similar to the Falls Cottages of Old Edwards Inn, where we have stayed (at double the cost). We appreciated the accessibility and kindness of Kathy, the hostess, who anticipated our every need and made great suggestions for outings. The falconer experience that Kathy suggested was the highlight of our trip. This is definitely one for the memory books, and we are already planning our Fall trip!

Excellent location to Downtown Highlands or Cashiers.

We had a great time in this home. Beds are comfortable and the home has everything you will need. Two smaller kids had a blast in the loft area. The location is perfect. My family mentioned numerous times how clean it was.

Relaxing Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Raintree cottage. It was centrally located between Highlands and Cashiers. The owner provided information about hiking, shopping, restaurants, groceries and entertainment. She was easy to communicate with and quick to answer any questions. The cottage is nicely decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend this listing.

Lovely mountain cottage!

Precious cottage Hostess could not have been more accommodating with suggestions and information. The home is well appointed with anything you could possibly need including stacked fireplace and outdoor fire pit ready to go. Bedding is cozy and comfortable. It has a clean and inviting atmosphere. We had a great time!

Beautiful cottage new to rental market

Well I will be coming back and bringing the family! We rented the Raintree Cottage for a girl's weekend and found the perfect place! This comfortable and warm home was just right for our group of 4 spending the night. We hosted dinner for 8 people Friday night with cocktails on the deck with a great view of the sun setting. The beautiful antique dining table with the leaves in gave us plenty of room for everyone. The outdoor fire pit was the perfect gathering place after dinner before turning in. Being close to both Cashiers and Highlands this location was central to bringing our Highlands and Lonesome Valley friends together without a long drive at night. The beds are very comfortable and the tin roof with a light rain made for the perfect nights sleep. There was plenty of hot water for all of us to get ready. The owner's hiking and shopping suggestions are a must. We hiked to a beautiful lake to watch a pair of Eagles and hit several consignment and thrift stores scoring on all fronts. The Ruffed Grouse restaurant suggestion to meet at the Highlands Wine Shop next door was perfect. I am coming back and bringing my clan to try the other hikes, restaurants and fun!

Five stars!!

Wow! What an incredible place! The pictures do not do it justice. My friends and I took advantage of the low rate offered as this is a new property. It is clean crisp, freshly painted, amazing natural light from the windows and sky lights and well furnished. My friends and I loved the working fireplace and outdoor fireplace that had a fire set and ready for us to light. The private back deck overlooking the creek had a fully stocked grill and plenty of seating. Don’t forget to look up and see the numerous stars in the sky at night. You don’t have to leave the house to see them as the windows open up the outdoors. The owner’s recommended restaurants; hikes and places to shop were spot on. Don’t overlook this house.

A mountain oasis

Perfect weekend getaway. The house is elegantly designed with everything you need, including a Keurig and a fully stocked kitchen. The host shared a ton of local knowledge with great recommendations for restaurants, hikes nearby and things to do. The house was nestled into the hillside and felt very privtae for only being a few short minutes from downtown Highlands. Will definitely book again for a longer stay since the place is great for remote work with highspeed wifi.

With over 50 years of visiting in the Highlands Plateau, I have finally bought a home that I want to share with ours to enjoy as much as I do. As a former renter and someone who stays in the home, the beds are very comfortable, towels are nice and the linens are 100% cotton. Let me know if you are looking for the right restaurant, hike, place to fish or shop. My focus will be on you having the best stay possible.

Why they chose this property

Because I have friends in Casheirs and Highlands, this property is in the perfect location to get to Cashiers or Highlands for dinner. The house sits on 1 acre of lush land with a babblng creek behind the house you can listen to sitting on the deck. The outdoor firepit is a great place to convene in the evening to tell stories about the day and see the sky full of stars.

What makes this property unique

Having stayed in mountain rentals with a satelite dish that does not work when it is cloudy or raining, it was important to me that there be Fiber Optic high speed internet to watch tv or work during the week if needed. If you need the speed increased during your stay for gaming or whatever, give me 24 hours notice to make it happen.
