The apartment was very comfortable, cosy, and pretty quiet. The entry being on an alley was something I wasn't too sure about when I read the description (and some reviews) but it was really quite easy. I got back at midnight twice, and I was totally at ease. (Woman alone). Also being close to Butler was fun. So many little bars & cafes.
Beautiful, cozy, and clean! Loved this place and would definitely stay here again. Great location and not too far away from the downtown.

Awesome stay for a weekend trip. Cozy room and lots to see and do in the area. If I ever travel to Pittsburgh again I will be staying in this property!
We could not stay the duration of our booking due to a strong cigarette smell, even though the booking was labeled as no smoke. The shower was filthy and the walls were disgusting. Dead flies were all over the floor. We woke up to a MOUSE rummaging through our bags in the middle of the night. The alley to get into the house is uneven and full of weeds and the dog next door is not nice and could easily jump the fence if provoked. The host is unresponsive. Would not recommend nor would we ever stay here again. Host refuses to give refund and we have escalated to Vrbo. Don’t waste your money time or health on this listing.
We stayed for the Fourth of July and had a great time. The spot is close to downtown and everything near we wanted to see and experience. I will say I did not have any concern and/or issues until the final day. At 5:30 AM on my final morning, I discovered a live rodent inside the unit. Because the space is small, I had to immediately trap it inside a closet and block the door with towels. We had to check out early due to these unhygienic and uninhabitable conditions. When I contacted the host via the app to report the infestation and request a refund for the disrupted night, her response was highly unprofessional. She deflected responsibility, told me to 'contact the city,' and sent mocking emojis. She has since denied the refund request entirely. Future guests should beware of the active pest issue and the host’s total lack of accountability regarding basic safety and health standards. Avoid this listing.

There are definitely some pros and cons. The cons were: the entrance is in the back down a tiny little alley, there is a pit bull next door that will almost jump the fence for you, the steps going in are very dangerous. They are steep and there is no handrail. The shower is extremely small, you can’t even turn around. The pros were: it was clean and neat, although there was a pretty harsh dog smell, the bed was comfortable, and the temperature was perfect. The location was okay, it was about a 30 minute walk to our venue. We ended up taking an Uber back. We had an okay experience overall, but I probably wouldn’t stay here again. Just being honest.

Unfortunately we have no control over neighbors and their animals.
The shower is standart size( from Home depot).
I had no idea where your venue is , so maybe you needed to rent something closer to your destination?
I don't think you can expect red carpet entrance renting for $40.
Sorry about your experience
My friend and I spent a long weekend in Pittsburgh and absolutely loved our stay! It had everything we needed and was in a great neighborhood! We loved the space and it worked perfectly for us. I would definitely stay here again!
Great place to stay for a quick getaway in Pittsburgh. It was a really cool area to walk around to the different places to eat and shop, which are just a few blocks from the room. It was our first time staying in this part of town and would definitely come back and stay again. The place is really cute, comfy bed and had everything we needed.

Thank you Tara for kind words.
It's very inspirational for us .
Looking forward to host you again.
Very much as described. Great price for just using for overnights. Previous reviews were helpful and accurate as to entryway and steps. Only suggestion; a hand rail would be nice as entrance steps are steep. Overall, we had a good experience.
