Belle Mer is a 3 bedroom 3 bath home with a private pool located on the water in Klein Bay. From the moment you walk through the custom-made mahogany doorway, you will feel the welcoming ambiance of the private courtyard, lush landscaping and those ‘oh so’ beautiful views of turquoise blue seas.

The home was designed with two buildings, the main house is to the right and includes the great room with its kitchen, living and dining areas, plus two air-conditioned bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. To the left of the main house is a separate bedroom ‘pod’, which includes the third air-conditioned bedroom and ensuite bath. All are beautifully designed with comfort in mind.

For us, what truly captured our hearts is the covered veranda located off the great room. This covered outdoor living area, offers comfort with its chaise lounges and overstuffed chairs, plus the outside table for dining. Here you will gaze out to your front yard, colorful flowers and listen to the sounds of the surf as it laps along the shoreline.

The appeal does not stop with the veranda, as the home includes a private sun deck. lounge chairs and a refreshing pool to cool off in on a warm Caribbean day, and if you prefer the ocean, you will follow the walkway through the gate to the pebble beach of Klein Bay. This calm cove is perfect for snorkeling and swimming.

Belle Mer is one of four homes located on the pebble/sand beach in Klein Bay. Klein Bay is a small, well-protected cove that is part of Rendezvous Bay on St. John’s sunny south shore. There are no hotels, condos or B & B’s in Klein Bay; there’s only a few luxury vacation villas. The dead end road that leads to Belle Mer ends three houses down, so there is very little vehicular traffic here, which creates an exceptionally peaceful and quiet neighborhood. The only noise you’ll hear with regularity is the sweet sound of surf gently breaking in your front yard, plus the sound of the soft trade winds blowing through the trees.

Belle Mer is unquestionably a beautiful villa in an exquisite setting. Although Belle Mer has one villa to the left of the home, the lush tropical vegetation and a well-designed landscaping plan creates a setting with very good visual privacy. Belle Mer faces south so it is also a sun worshipper’s villa and the pool and decks are bathed in sunshine from 8 am – 5 pm.

The pebble/sand beach at Klein Bay is more pebbles than sand, although this mixture differs from year to year depending largely on what the fall storms deposit or wash away. The shoreline is protected from heavy surf and strong winds by Ditliff Point, which is a peninsula that curves into the Caribbean and shelters Klein Bay. Almost every day the small surf and crystal clear waters provide good swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available by the day or week in Cruz Bay, and they’ll usually deliver to your villa if rented for the week.

Living/Dining: The great room is an open floor plan that includes your living, kitchen and dining areas, perfect for spending time together to create those unforgettable memories. The living are is comfortably furnished, and includes a flat screen TV. For those that need to do some work, and we hope it is not too much, there is a small office area adjacent to the living room.

The interior dining table seats 4 – 6 people and there is an outside dining table on the covered veranda, that seats 4 -6 people.

Kitchen: The well equipped kitchen is located adjacent to the dining room, and includes a breakfast bar with bar stools, a wonderful gathering spot, for morning coffee and planning your day. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, gas stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator/freezer. There is also a BBQ gas grill on the veranda.

Bedrooms: There are two air-conditioned bedrooms in the main house, each are well appointed. The bedroom to the right of the great room, includes a 4 posted queen bed and ensuite bath with garden shower. An interior staircase from the great room takes you to the upper level 2nd bedroom which includes 2 twin beds that can be converted to a king and includes an ensuite bath with tiled shower, a TV with DVD player and a private balcony looking out over beautiful views of Klein Bay. The air-conditioned third bedroom is located in its own bedroom ‘pod’, across the tiled courtyard to the left of the main house. This bedroom includes a king bed and private bath with garden shower.
