Cedar Key holds a very special place in our hearts. It isn't just where our business is located; it's the backdrop to our lives, our family, and our community for the past decade.
Our journey here began as marine biologists. Stephanie started her work at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) by the Channel 4 bridge in 2015, and Johnny joined her in 2016. For nine years, we pulled thousands of nets and measured hundreds of thousands of fish to help preserve these precious local resources. While working full-time, we earned our Master's degrees in Fisheries Science. After our time with the FWC, we both took positions with the University of Florida's Nature Coast Biological Station (NCBS), deepening our connection to the area's incredible ecosystem.
This community holds so much history for us. We were married on Atsena Otie Key in 2022 with beautiful Cedar Key as our backdrop. In 2023, we welcomed our daughter, Eva. We also have 2 rescue dogs, Goose the GSP and Honey Bee the pointer mix. Over the last decade, we have forged lifelong friendships and weathered every major hurricane since 2016, from Hermine to Helene. Because Cedar Key has given so much to our family, we are deeply committed to giving back, whether helping clean up after a storm or sponsoring local events. We truly understand the heart and soul of Cedar Key, and as a local business, we are dedicated to making sure its authentic charm doesn't change.
In 2025, we purchased Pelican Vacation Home Rentals to continue our journey. Our three fantastic managers in the office help us provide next-level service. We strive to answer phones immediately during business hours, with a quick callback if we miss you, and 24/7 support for emergencies. Because of our teams deep connections here, we are able to provide exceptionally personal service. Come stay with us for the local knowledge, genuine care, and hands-on attention that’s rare in the vacation rental industry!
