About this property

3 story 3700 sq ft log cabin - hot tub, game room, sunroom, fireplace in Ruidoso

Antler Mountain Lodge is a place where friends and loved ones can all gather with 3,700 square feet room to spread out and enjoy yourselves. Gorgeous wooden textures greet you in the Great Room, along with a stone fireplace, soaring ceiling and south-facing passive solar bank of oversized windows to let you enjoy the beauty of the forest over your morning coffee. There's enough space for everyone to gather together, but also several different zones where different age groups in a family can have time to themselves.

The main deck is equipped with both a propane grill and griddle, with seating for your whole crew to eat outside when the weather is nice.

Upstairs is the spacious Sequoia master suite with king bed, reading nook, its own deck overlooking the back yard and hot tub, plus its own restroom.

The main floor has a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, sunroom and living area, plus the Tahoe and Sedona rooms, each with a queen bed.

Downstairs you'll find the Yellowstone room, with a King bed, and the Cheyenne room, a converted den with a king and queen bed, plus living space.

The garage has been turned into the Glacier Room, with a pool table, shuffleboard and foosball tables, a cedar bar and room to spread out.

The cabin is located in a quiet residential neighborhood close to the ski turn-off, with lots of wildlife walking through the half acre back yard virtually every day.

Hosts Eric and Gayette Huseby are personally committed to providing a 5-star experience. We have 12 years experience hosting in Ruidoso, and in 2022 we went “all in” and moved here to Lincoln County to be better able to make continuous improvements and ensure quality control.

Spring Break Getaway
This was the perfect place for our family Spring Break Getaway! The cabin is laid out in such a way that everyone has their own space when needed, but also nice areas to spend time together. The game room was awesome and a great hangout place for our teenagers. We loved having the hot tub to relax and watch the snow come down. Location was great, close to town and easy to find with ample parking. Check in and out was seamless, and communication with the owner was super pleasant and simple. Would definitely recommend!!

Great place!
This was a great place with lots of room! Listing was as advertised. Comfortable and awesome cabin with tons of amenities. The host checked in with us and was very responsive. Ruidoso got snow the day we arrived. They shoveled and put ice melt on the deck before our arrival and even left firewood for us!

Our Amazing Birthday Surprise
Our stay at this property was super amazing. Everything that you can ask for was there and ready. I would recomend this spot for anyone. All we needed was our clothes, and groceries that we planned to cook. Everything else was provided. Owners are very friendly and great hosts. Very spacious with lots of room. We enjoyed the game room, and the hot tub. Plenty of Lenin, and cook wear. Very cozy and relaxing spot. We enjoyed our time with our family. My wife didn't know we were surprising her with this cabin. Riudoso has a very special place in her heart. We thank the host for everything. It was great!! Would definitely stay at this property again.

Host profile image
Hi, We're Eric and Gayette Huseby.

Travel is our passion. We have had some spectacular experiences ... and a few we'd rather forget. We are committed to making your stay at Antler Mountain Lodge a highlight your family or group of friends will remember for all the right reasons for years to come.

We've always loved the mountains. We were married nearby in Cloudcroft, New Mexico in 1995. We spent our careers in El Paso, Texas, and every time we rented a cabin in Ruidoso, we dared to dream a little bit about one day owning our own.

That came true in 2010 when we finally bought a 2-bedroom cabin, Antler Crossing, near midtown Ruidoso. We made many trips, reviewing many properties, looking for one that had that "something special" and was much more than four walls and a place to eat and sleep. We designed everything for our own comfort because we used it too!

After Antler Crossing proved very popular, and we gained some confidence that we understood the vacation rental business, we added Antler Mountain Lodge, a place where we would have enough room for larger groups of friends and loved ones. Once again, our search was for a cabin that had "something special" and we furnished and decorated it to be a place we would want to stay.

We started off with pretty good property managers, but they sold their company, and things went downhill quickly. We found issues with cleaning, stocking and maintenance. We switched managers more than once, but were never able to find anyone who cared about our cabins, and our guests' experience, the way we do.

In 2022, we went "all in." I said goodbye to my career as a TV news manager. We sold our home in El Paso, and moved up here where we can more closely supervise all aspects of our small business. We inspect the cleanings. We do constant maintenance and renovation. And we strive to make sure every guest feels we CARE about providing high quality vacation spot, and put a personal touch on everything we do.

Why they chose this property

Want a cabin with room enough for a big crew to spread out, and the scenery as spectacular indoors as the forest is outside? Antler Mountain Lodge is the place. The pictures are truly worth a thousand words, and accurately represent the home. We constantly renovate and improve it.

We recently reimagined and updated the Sequoia Room, an oversize upstairs loft master suite. It has a King Bed, TV, reading nook and dedicated closed-door office space with desk and office chair. There is also a private balcony, from which you can keep an eye on the kids in the hot tub below.

The one-of-a-kind great room features a stone fireplace that runs all the way up to the high vaulted ceiling. An antler chandelier and table lamps set the mood in a living space with comfortable leather furniture and 65" TV. Two adjacent tables offer dining space for 12, or we also have barstools in the kitchen if you want to let the kids have their own space.

The sunroom is our go-to space for morning coffee. A massive bank of south-facing passive solar windows give you a birds eye vantage point to watch for wildlife below. There's a fully equipped kitchen, of course. The Tahoe and Sedona Rooms each have a Queen bed and their own TVs. There is a full restroom on each of the three floors.

When the weather is nice, the main deck has seating for 12, along with propane grill and griddle.

Downstairs you first come to the Western-themed Cheyenne Room - a converted den with King and Queen beds, and additional living space with another 65" TV. Next to that is the Yellowstone Room, with a King bed and its own TV. What was once the garage is now the Glacier Room, with a pool table, foosball and shuffleboard tables, and a beautiful cedar bar.

Out in our half acre backyard is the hot tub, where you can unwind under the stars, or pretty much any other time of day. All in all, Antler Mountain Lodge is our vision of a place families and friends alike can make memories that last a lifetime.

What makes this property unique

The personal touch you get from locally-based cabin owners can't be overstated. We have experienced the frustration of being one of 100+ cabins being run by a property manager who doesn't have time to inspect cleanings or do maintenance, so we make time.

We only have two cabins. We know them inside and out, and your satisfaction is my full-time job. Our check-in instructions tell every guest IF ANYTHING DOES NOT MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS, PLEASE TELL US PROMPTLY SO WE CAN MAKE IT RIGHT. We also strive to go the extra mile and provide you as much (or as little) information as you like about Ruidoso and the Lincoln National Forest, with age-appropriate suggestions and recommendations for places to go, things to do, and tips to make your vacation memorable.

But beyond that commitment to making sure every guest has a 5-star experience, the cabin is a place we are incredibly proud of, because it is a place we love to stay as well. Design and decorating touches everywhere make sure you'll never forget you're in a very special place in the mountains. And at 3,700 square feet (plus decks and hot tub!) there really is enough room and things to do that your whole crew can spread out and find their happy place.

The game room has a pool table, shuffleboard, and foosball table. We have board games, plenty of books to read, and the home has two 65" TVs (plus four smaller TVs), with a streaming service (currently YouTubeTV) with many entertainment options.
There is also a dedicated closed-door workspace off the Sequoia master suite, with a desk and office chair in case you need to keep an eye on things at work.

The hot tub is a great place for a relaxing soak under the stars, or a quick pick-me-up with your morning coffee. Keep an eye out for deer, elk and even turkeys and wild horses.

At Antler Mountain Lodge, you get our very best effort to provide a special place where friends and family can make memories that will last a lifetime.
