Welcome to The Mariner! Feet from downtown amenities, marina, beaches, & near all that Leelanau county has to offer! Spacious home with 4 floors providing everyone their own private spaces while also allowing you to enjoy time together in the open living, dining, and kitchen area with adjoining deck with firepit & hot tub. The house is situated on a large lot overlooking the historic trout stocked Mill Pond. Pets welcome. Perfect spot for family or friends getaway!

This spacious 6-bedroom, 3-bathroom, with PlayRoom, and bonus pet room is truly the ideal Leelanau getaway.

Dine in the open living and dining room area connected to the kitchen which also leads out the deck. The deck has a gas grill, large outdoor dining table, with a fenced in backyard allowing you to relax as your kids and pets roam freely. Tom’s grocery store, one of the nicest grocery stores in Leelanau county, is just around the corner.

Sleeping: Comfortably sleeps 16 with 10 beds on 4 separate floors allowing multiple families/group’s to have their own floor and private space.

Outdoor areas include a large lot overlooking the Mill Pond and Northport Creek where you can hear the water fall from the dam. Go fishing on the stocked Mill pond or take a scroll down to the Northport Bay where you can go boating or just lay on the beach and relax. Relax in the hot tub or have a meal in the backyard on the outdoor dining table.

Perfect Fall Getaway

We absolutely loved the house and the town of Northport for our long weekend stay! It was the perfect location to enjoy the fall colors and everything the town has to offer. The location makes it easy to walk to anything in town and the house itself was well appointed and overall a great experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to visit Northport!

Wine Weekend 2024

The house was the perfect spot for myself and 8 of the women in my family for our annual Wine Weekend. Plenty of room for everyone! The hot tub was awesome and the location couldn’t have been better to enjoy downtown Northport. This is the 8th year we’ve made this trip and definitely one of the best properties we’ve stayed at!

Clean and Spacious

This was a great place to stay. The house was was very clean, had lots of space to spread out, and was in a great location. The house very nicely housed a family of four, a family of three, and a family of one. The hosts were great and included many little things that made our stay even more enjoyable. The many items available for the small children was one of the biggest perks for us because it meant less we needed to pack. We would absolutely stay here again!

This property was a wonderful home for ourselves, our adult children and their families to use as a base to explore the area north of Traverse City. It had absolutely every possible amenity thoughtfully supplied by the owners. The most informative and ease of use reservation system we have ever encountered. The property was spotless, very well equipped, and very well located in the village of Northport. As seasoned guests of many VRBO properties, we say well done to Jaene and Frank.

Perfect location

Our stay was perfect from beginning to end. The house was so well equipped. I truly have never stayed anywhere that has supplied or made available every single thing you could possibly imagine needing. The property owner was amazing. They went above and beyond what they were required. He contacted us the week before to answer any questions we might have and to give us a website link that was like our own personal concierge. I highly recommend them and their property.

Family trip for July 4th!

Gorgeous home with all the amenities, great location walking distance to everything Northport has to offer! Frank and Janae were wonderful hosts and addressed any concerns or questions we had very promptly! The only issue we had which ruined our night was at 8pm we were outside playing games with the kids and got yelled at by the neighbor for apparently being too loud which we were not he was just a cranky old man however this issue was addressed by frank and janae very quickly! Other than that it was a fantastic time!

Wonderful stay in Northport

We had a great stay at Frank & Janae’s home. This was our first time staying in Northport, though we’ve visited the Leelanau Peninsula annually for decades. Three families shared the home comfortably, and it was nice to have bedrooms and a bathroom on each level. We loved the house’s proximity to the beach in Northport, as well as to all the shops in town (we loved the sandwiches at New Bohemian Cafe). Our kids also enjoyed fishing at the pond just next to the property. The patio area was beautiful, and we enjoyed many evenings on the patio having dinner, making s’mores, and using the hot tub. We had one small issue (with wasps near the front door), and the hosts had someone remedying the issue within hours (and then they checked on it again a couple days later, which we appreciated). We had a wonderful week and would absolutely stay here again!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with our house because of its central location in Northport and the special details of the home by the original owner who was a Navy Captain. From the porthole on the front door to the ship deck flooring, the house was made to be in a marina community. Our neighborhood is centrally located, quiet and tucked in away from the main street. Tesla and non-Tesla EV chargers available only a 4 minute walk from the house.

The location of this property is exceptional. Being in the Village of Northport only a few hundred feet away from all of the village amenities while also having a home with a large lot overlooking the historic Mill Pond makes this a special place.This home allows large groups to have their own private spaces while coming together in a large open living and dining area! Discover all the hot spots in Leelanau County from Suttons Bay, Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, Leland, Omena, and Traverse City. There are numerous beaches, wineries, golf courses, hikes, and lake views only a short trip away. After a long day of exploring and having fun, come back to the house where you can wind down in the hot tub or enjoy the fire pit.
