Welcome to The Modern Magnolia

Nestled on the shores of beautiful Greers Ferry Lake and in the heart of Heber Springs, The Modern Magnolia is intended to be a retreat welcoming of all people and designed to feel relaxed and comfortable; a refuge from the daily grind.

Here there are no obligations, expectations, or judgement. Remember what it feels like to read a book. Take that morning nap and throw in a second in the afternoon for good measure. Grab a kayak and take a short walk through the woods for a sunset expedition. Come back and grill out ... Then lose count of how many S'mores you've eaten by the campfire.

More than anything, be present. Listen to the sounds of the lake and the birds that greet you in the morning. And mostly, remember that right now you're exactly where you're meant to be.

The space

The Modern Magnolia is a 1972 mid-century modern home with great bones. Over the course of many weekends and trips back and forth from Austin, Texas, our family transformed this old soul into a newly re-imagined version of its former self.
With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, The Modern Magnolia invites you to relax and unwind in its welcoming atmosphere. With tasteful touches that remind us of our favorite things, we've mixed in elements from our own life to create what we hope will feel like a welcoming oasis.

As a family that loves to travel, we tried our best to outfit The Modern Magnolia with all the amenities we love to have while we're away from home. With modern kitchen appliances, coffee at the ready, and no lack of the little things, we expect you won't need to buy that 5lb bag of sugar you'll only use a teaspoon of.

Step outside for coffee or wine on the screened in porch or elevated back deck with scenic views of the surrounding woods and Greers Ferry Lake. A feature we love most is the winding path you can take from the backyard that leads to easy lake access and the perfect spot to drop in one of our kayaks. If you time it just right you can make it back in time for storytelling around the fire pit or easy conversation with friends and family.

The Modern Magnolia can accommodate a maximum of 6 guests, with covered parking for two vehicles and a vast driveway that can easily accommodate a trailer with a boat. This is a home where communities of all kinds are welcome, but as much as we love our animals, we ask you to leave yours at home.

Guest access

The house is easily accessible with plenty of parking for all who visit. With front and back access via keypad, we'll make sure you receive access information ahead of your stay.
