Perfect family get away on the Big Island and near the National Park

Wonderful stay in Hilo

8 of us stayed at this wonderful property (5 adults and 3 kids under 10). It was just perfect. The house is extremely comfortable and everyone had their own space. We loved the location as for us we wanted to explore Volcano National Park and much of the east side of the island. We did go to Kona for a day which was easily accessible as well. Hilo is awesome and so is this house!

There property clearly is well built with plenty attention the fine details. The yard has a pool and jacuzzi, perfect to keep the kids engaged in outdoor activities. Chase was very easy to work with messages promptly answered. Would recommend property to any traveler or resident alike.

VERY clean and spacious!

This property was very clean and quite spacious. I wish I had known about the stairs since I am handicapped, and stairs are quite difficult. The photos seem embellished, so it was a bit of a surprise to see the actuality. The host, Chase is wonderful. He was so accommodating and kind!

As part of the rental you also get the downstairs studio which requires no stairs and has all of the same accommodations and amenities as the upstairs rooms. No stairs required! Extremely responsive hosts

From the first day we booked to the day that we left, we received almost immediate responses to every question we asked. As usual, there were a couple of arrival difficulties, but the host quickly took care of those. The house is beautiful. We were able to walk to the point and watch the waves and even some whales. They also made great suggestions about restaurants and supermarkets in the area.

Not what we thought it would be

The place was spectacular, don’t get me wrong we loved the place and all, but we couldn’t have our family to come by and enjoy the time with us and sit around the pool. This is the part where we did not like at all, we were local Hawaiian family from Waimanalo Oahu and wanted to enjoy our niece that graduated from Hilo. Maybe next time we have to read everything before we decide to do this again.

Aloha Rose! We’re so glad you enjoyed the house! We really loved having you stay with us. I’m really shocked by this review since you agreed to the house rules when making the reservation. You are a guest here. Guests do not get to bring guests. No hotel or vacation rental on the island allows that. Your expectations of being able to rent a house and have as many friends and family over as you like is not a reasonable expectation and, again not anything my competitors offer either. We understand wanting to have guests/visitors. It simply is not possible to have an unlimited number of guests for a variety of reasons. First and foremost we are not a public business. We are a private business operating in a quiet residential area. We love our neighbors and we have to be super respectful of our neighbors in our quiet neighborhood. We also do not have the parking for unlimited cars Also, vacation rentals are highly regulated now and becoming more and more regulated all of the time. We are only legally allowed to have a certain number of guests. If we go over we could be shut down. Sorry, for the long explanation, but we really loved having you here and just wanted you to understand from our side the regulations we and all vacation rentals now have to follow. Thank you again for being such great guests! We loved having you and hope you get to come back and stay with us again soon! Mahalo Nui Loa
