Due to a heavy storm one of the bedrooms flooded from water coming in under the door (it was missing any type of a seal- you could see straight through to the outside). I reached out at 8 am with all three contacts I had for them and asked them to please get back with me asap because one of the bedrooms flooded. They only made one return call to me at 8:54 asking me to call back with more info. I called back, could only leave voicemail, at 9:23 with all details, gave them permission to go into the unit as we were at an event and I can text but difficult to take a call. I reached out again on the contact host link mid morning. No response. So I left my event at lunch since I had not heard from them, went back to the unit and mopped up the standing water. When I reached out again after cleanup. The one liner response I got was we called you at 9 am. The storm also shorted the panel for the hot water heater. They did get that repaired in the afternoon. The storm basin/drain outside the unit was completely blocked. Truthfully I’m surprised that they weren’t more concerned with standing water in their unit. There was also not one sorry along the way! I did call to VRBO directly to get their thoughts. They agreed this was a bad experience- they asked what would we like to do. We asked if the host would be willing to refund one night of the rental. The hosts response that VRBO shared with us was that they didn’t see wiping up some water with a towel to be an inconvenience. Wow!
