THE HOUSE (pictures are after the cottage has been partially closed for the winter): Picture yourself relaxing in comfortable chairs, enjoying breakfast or cocktails on a large open deck with gentle saltwater breezes blowing through your hair and your four-legged friend by your side as you watch the boating activity with an unobstructed view of the water.  You are cool when it's really hot elsewhere.  Terrapin (a.k.a. turtle) Cottage is on the southwest end of Southport Island. It faces west looking out at the mouth of the Sheepscot River and ocean waters.  The cottage is a one-story, 2-bedroom, 1 full-bath cottage with access to a private (shared with owner) beach. The fireplace in the photos is non-working but there is a propane heater for chilly nights.  Perhaps you would like to launch your small rowboat or kayak from the beach and do some exploring on the water.  Southport Island is part of the Boothbay Harbor region.  This cottage is 15 minutes from Boothbay Harbor.
If you don't feel like cooking, we suggest you head over to the Newagen Inn's bar and restaurant just 5 - 10 minutes away.  The Southport General Store is about 10 minutes away and offers great take-out prepared foods and a great wine selection as well as staple food items with local brands of meats, cheeses, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: A word about the photos of the living room. We apologize but we were unable to get a photo of the deck furniture on the deck. The furniture had been put away for winter and the table and chairs (minus their cushions) are being stored in the living room.
