A wonderful experience. Excellent location and first class host. Our family loved the house and would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the Southern Pines area.
Our stay at the Estate was perfect! A two night getaway among friends had us all wishing we booked an extra night. Convenient to local shopping and food, walkable neighborhood adjacent to the golf course. The details in the decor were perfectly done!
It is an old house, with old house character and old house ‘smell’ but it is decorated in a cool mid- century style. The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots, pans, utensils, etc. but, for us, too dark and a bit gloomy to want to spend evenings in.The host was great, responded quickly and offered great ideas for places to eat. Nothing is far away although not too much is walkable. The AC cooled the house sufficiently but we had to turn it off upstairs at night because it was loud and blowing directly on the head of the bed. The primary bed was very comfortable and the upstairs shower had decent pressure. The lower floor bathroom was tiny so might be best used by kids. The exterior of the home and back garden is lovely but could use some maintenance and general upkeep to make it a more enjoyable place to hangout.
This was a a beautiful spacious historical home with modern updates. We loved the enclosed back porches. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again when back in the area.
Location and house were both great for a family golf trip. Convenient and quiet, but easy access to Pinehurst. Also, my daughter got sick and the hosts were great when we had to check out early. In our haste to get home my kid forgot their favorite stuffed animal that they have had forever! Our hosts sent it to us right away which I think helped her get better quickly! Highly recommend!
Loved the whole vibe of this place - great mid-century modern decor, close to town! We especially loved playing the vinyls and hanging out in the sunroom. No issues during our stay :)
Property was clean and well managed, however it is dated, it had a mothball smell, coffee - one brewer did not work and the other had not been cleaned, and is a split rental which was not advertised. We typically want a stand alone unit which is our main reason for going VRBO.

Glynn, Thank you so much for the feedback on how clean the home was and how well managed. We use a software integration system and realized after your review, that it was not pushed out to VRBO, that this is 1 of 3 units on the property. That has since been updated. We're sorry to hear that you did not appreciate the historic quality of this home and found it outdated. We have this home listed as an "1928 historic estate" to draw awareness to the fact it is almost 100 years old. We have refinished all original wood floors and updated the paint, faucets, sinks, fixtures, lighting, furnishings, HVAC, and appliances in the last 2 years. I have sent my cleaners over after your review, who found the coffee makers to be functioning correctly. I wish I would have known you had a problem utilizing it and we could have provided assistance. Cheers!
