This house was in a great location with a large fairly private fenced in backyard that we and our pup enjoyed. There were plenty of TVs, nice couches and chairs, and the beds were comfortable. The front porch and back patio were very comfortable as well.
The property was clean, neat and well maintained. It was a pet friendly with a fenced in yard. We were close to shops, restaurants and fishing. Overall a great stay and will return!
Ideal location! This house has everything you need for a great stay in Lewes. Beds were very comfortable, backyard was large and fenced for our pup to enjoy romping around. Beach chairs are available for use. There was even a fig tree to enjoy ripe figs during our September stay. Would definitely stay here again!
Very charming! Clean and with all amenities. Enjoyed setting in the back patio as well on the porch with my granddaughters. Location is perfect, you can see King’s Ice Cream from the house. We walked there every day. Great time ! Would very much stay again.
Clean and very well supplied. Easy access to town, shopping and beach. Property manager was very helpful.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
The trip went overall well and the house is in a good location. It’s an older house, so some things aren’t in the greatest condition but that wasn’t a big deal. What is a big deal is that our group was accused of “breaking a door hinge” that was halfway hanging off when we arrived. The host slapped a 150 “damage change” for this old door hinge that pulled out of the rotting door frame during our stay. On top of that, the host is trying to charge a 200 “excessive cleaning fee” for some dog hair (pets are clearly stated as allowed) and a couple of items supposedly left in the fridge. The whole experience went from a nice long weekend to now what feels like having to fight scam charges. If you stay here I would highly recommend taking a full video walk through of the home and try to document any damage. That will off course eat into your vacation time, so maybe just consider a hotel instead.

Stephen, we thank you for your booking and are glad your stay was pleasant. I appreciate you taking time this week to talk with me and help me better understand your experience since there was confusion and disappointment on both ends after your checkout.
Pets- we are working on our end to determine a better way to ensure people booking through the platform are well informed of the $200.00 pet fee which is required to have pets at the home during a stay. We didn’t know you were bringing pets therefore charged you the pet fee after checkout upon discovering you had brought pets. The $200 was what should have been added to your booking had you communicated you were brining pets and checked the bringing pets box. Clearly stated in the listing to let us know you are bring pets. We understand this was a surprise and upsetting to you. You explained you did not pay the fee or inform us you were bringing pets because you saw the listing is pet friendly and said you did not see the added fee.
Bed and bath linens- we apologize for any confusion. It is stated in our listing and again in check in instructions that we don’t provide linens. Guests can bring their own or rent from local companies. We are very sorry if this caused any upset with your group. Information regarding linens / check-in message was sent to you in advance of your check in date.
Door Hinge- the house is old- it was built in 1885 and sometimes things happen. A door hinge broke. We are glad no one was hurt. It would have helped us out before the cleaning crew came and discovered that the door fell, to know about this - just to give us time to call a repairman to fix the door prior to the arrival of next guests. Per video from the cleaner who was in the property cleaning right before you checked in shows the door attached to the hinges and in perfect working condition. The $150 charge was originally added as clearly something went awry during your visit leading us to believe it was broken by your party. In addition, the cleaner documented pictures of stains on the living room carpet which caused extra cleaning past her allotted time to turn over the house. The $150 was for the repairman to come short notice to fix the door for the next guest and for carpet cleaning done by the cleaner.
In the future if something breaks during your stay, it is helpful to communicate this to the home manager whom you communicated with regard to no linens therefore communication had been established her personal cell phone.
Thanks again for talking this through with me. I am glad we were able to sort out our misunderstandings.
It’s good to know that your group enjoyed the property. That is the goal for every renter.
Wishing you all the best,
Linda / House Owner
Absolutely Everything we wanted or needed. Plenty of space to mingle with others or have some alone time. Great location with beautiful back yard. Can't wait to go back
In historic Lewes and close to best beach on mid-Atlantic coast
Located in historic Lewes, with easy access to Cape Henlopen and free public beach on Delaware Bay. Clean, well maintained house, with several big screen TVs. Easy communication with property manager.
I came with my dog in the backyard was so perfect for her! My family and I had so much room in the house, it really felt like live-able luxury, so many great amenities and such cute decor. The location was incredible too - we left our car parked in the driveway the whole time!! Walked into town and biked to the beach in minutes. Would def stay again!!
Very nice comfortable house. 1 mile or so to the beach. Walk to shops and restaurants. Well stocked kitchen and laundry. TVs in most rooms. Nice patio and grill. Beach nearby is beautiful with calm bay water.
Spent two nights for an annual family gathering. The house was less than a 5 minute from the party location. This house is lovely and very well set up and equipped. Will definitely consider for next year’s reunion. Brenda Hazzard is an excellent, gracious host.
We enjoyed our time at the house. It is close to everything in town and we could walk most places. The house has a nice front porch and back patio with a fenced in backyard that was good for our dog. The only issue was that the listing of the bed sizes appeared to be wrong for two of the bedrooms. It didn't affect our stay but we ordered the wrong bedding. Overall, we had a great time.

Thanks David. I am so sorry this happened. I am checking the listing to ensure accuracy. Glad you had a great time. Hope you will consider renting with us again.
Great stay, super warm weather and location of the home was close to everything. No fault of anyone, but across the street there was insulation work being done everyday, very very loud so we couldn’t sit outside at all. My sisters and I had a really nice time. The king bed is super comfy! Steps are steep so be aware. We had a problem with the one lock, but got help from a nice man at the bar up the street. All in all great house, and good times!
Wonderful time at this historic house. Home was very clean and well stocked. Lots of room for six people. We enjoyed sitting out back in the morning and evening.
Our dog and grandchildren enjoyed the big yard. There was ample parking between front and back. We loved being close to Lewes, so we could walk and not worry about parking. There were bike trails close by, and lots of activities to enjoy. Owners left a helpful notebook with suggestions about restaurants and things to do. I would definitely rent again.
The convenience of this location cannot be beat -- step outside the door and you're a block from the restaurants and shops. A short bike ride and you're at the beach. A relatively short car ride and you're in Rehoboth enjoying Funland and the boardwalk. There's a hose in the back yard for cleaning sand off your feet when you get back.
The house itself is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with essentially everything you need to make a meal. Nice backyard for the dogs although if you have roamers you'll need to watch the gap in the back gate. There's an enormous fig tree in the back yard that had hundreds of ripe figs in late August.
Property manager was easy to get in touch with. Check-in was easy and uneventful. Do note that you'll need to rent or bring linens with you -- sheets, towels, hand towels, etc.
